Virulently liberal, increasing cost of living, lots of foliage makes for good hiking or just walking around when you're sick of pavement. I miss it to death. There's a submarine on the east side of the river (last non-nuclear boat in the USN) that you can tour which is pretty cool, I went to it several times during my childhood.

I feel like Portland and the Willamette Valley in general is home to a sheltered kind of liberal culture that survives only because the population is about 90% white and largely of local stock. It's little bit like a less frigid version of Scandinavia, perhaps. The minority population is increasing, perhaps we'll see a rightwards political shift as outsiders cause panic among the locals (fat chance given our passive temperament and liberalism being akin to a religious faith among the urban folk). Even my unmarried hippie aunt I lived with in Eugene doesn't like how Oregon is getting overrun by people from out of state.

It is not to a city's credit that the best thing that can be said for it is good beer and the natural beauty outside the city limits, but mainly the natural beauty of the state which, let's be honest, was there before the city existed, and only made worse by the city's existence.

RE: Tell me about Portland OR.
I was there a few months ago, and went to N. Mississipi, one of the gentrified hipster streets (along with Alberta, Division, Hawthorne and coming soon- Sandy Blvd). Every store had a Black Lives Matters hanging in the window, which is Ironic because the hipster invasion priced out many of the African Americans in those neighborhoods (mainly North and NorthEast Portland).

I don't find the liberalism as annoying as the street kids, dirty homeless, etc that is plaguing the downtown area. Then again, I kind of keep my politics to myself.

Stay away from living in the suburbs, its so boring. Live in the Pearl District, NW 23rd area (I guess its now called the "Alphabet" district) or on the Eastside (around one of the hipster streets listed above). The commute will probably suck, but hopefully your job is easy to get to via the MAX train (likely not though). But at least you can experience some non-suburban life.

Spent all day being grilled at this interview

People seem nice but everyone seems to complain
About the darkness and the rain

I'm in Tigard tonight if anyone wants a beer

Bro, Tigard Highway 99 is a legit fun stretch of road to party.
As you cruise up and down the highway, make sure to hit up The Old Barn, Gators, Bounty Hunters and end the night at The Crab Bowl.

My good friend Victor Mosso owns the Crab Bowl and it doesn't get hoppin' until about midnight.
Lots of hot young loose tail use to frequent that spot.
Warning #1: Never catch feelings at the Crab Bowl.
All those ho's have notch counts that make Lindsey Lohan look like the Virgin Mary.
Warning #2: Drunk bitches may try to get you to rail Cocaine with them in the ladies restroom.
Don't fall for it, unless you really want to.

Stay safe navigating the shit weather and drinking.
We got 12 inches of snow that froze over in my neck of the woods, finally starting to clear up now.

Tonight doesn't work for me, got plans early tomorrow (4:20 am)
PM though and lets keep in touch.

If your in a pinch, download the Lyft app and use the code from this website:
https://www.lyft.com/promo-coupon-code-free-rides

You'll get $5 off, for 5 rides ($25 savings)

Also, if your on Highway 99 and you notice that the Ladies just aren't feeling like coming out on a Wednesday Night, you might as well check out the Boom Boom Room.
It is a really beat up old dive of a Strip Club, the Strippers are known to get sloppy drunk/extremely wild with the Customers and sometimes bang them in the 3 room hotel out back.

Also Casa Diablo on Highway 30 (off St Helens road) is an interesting experience too.
It is a 100% Vegan Strip Club that only accepts $2.00 bills.
The dancers often fuck each other on stage with Dildos/Scissoring/Squirting.
Fun stuff!

Last note: Dolphin 2 is a strip club in Beaverton.
Beaverton is a total family town, except they have one tight lipped little secret.
The Dolphin 2 is a total freaky joint.
Strippers are routinely jerkin' off Customers even during a cheap ass lap dance.
Warning #3: They don't use lube and its over the clothes.
So depending on your attire, this may not even be enjoyable.

RE: Tell me about Portland OR.
I'm a fan of Acropolis Steakhouse as far as strip joints are concerned. Very laid back, all the girls are more alternative/tatto'ed up. The steaks are a great deal though since the owner of the joint owns a cattle ranch. $9 ribeyes, things like that. A bit far but they put Casa Diablo's sister strip club next door. Its quite a way out there though in Milwuakee.

Great recommendations!
I have kicked it at both Acropolis and Casa Diablo's sister club, both rock!
Still haven't had a Steak @ Acropolis yet though, $9 for a locally grown ribeye sounds like a sweet deal.

RE: Tell me about Portland OR.
A bunch of people told me that it starts to rain in October to about May with maybe a dozen sunny days in between.

The other six or so months are gorgeous (the ocean is always cold though).

That seems pretty odd, and rather depressing otherwise?

Beautiful city from pictures and videos I've seen but it also appears to be a pussy purgatory.

The Steak Bites are the go to move. Just chopped up steak, with some A1 and Heinz57 and some french bread squares. Like $5.

This is correct. Its quite depressing because most of the year is grey/cloudy. The Summers are about as good as you can get though.

I agree man, I love the sun so much I spend every possible minute I can in it during the summer time.
Very tough to see it go, always excited for it to return though.
Our summers are very enjoyable here as it doesn't get unbearably hot or humid, usually it is mid 70's to low 90's.
Rarely do we get to 100 or above, even when we do though it is not too humid or dry, just right.

A lot of people, especially liberals from California flood into Oregon and Washington because those states are cheaper and has less taxes. Those two states were once Republican until 20 to 30 years ago. It's happening to other states too.

That's because a lot of millenial hipsters flood into the urban areas. This drives up housing costs and pushes people into the suburbs or out to rural areas and smaller cities. It's not just a Portland problem, it's happening everywhere in the U.S.

While this is true, I'd say that AirBnB is far more responsible for the skyrocketing housing costs the US has seen in its even moderately desirable cities in the last 5 years. It creates extreme housing shortages in the rental market, which causes the entire market to inflate Add to that dummy corporations of Chinese millionaires investing to hide their money overseas by buying real estate in the US and Canada (especially on the West Coast) and people are getting priced out of the towns they grew up in.

In the times i have visited it seems to get more expensive and lower quality every time. I find the northwest Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Jose to be overrated, i prefer SoCal
