Hi guys,,
Happy new year!

I need your help with suggestions for a long week-end city break for the last weekend of January. I'm a big francophone country fan and can speak intermediate level French and am working on improving the banter with the French hunnies! I'd like your recommendations on city breaks with good day and night game opportunities even though it will be cold in January. Suggestions amongst France, Belgium, Switzerland, Scandinavia,, Austria,, Germany and anywhere else near would be much appreciated and also details of fellow forum members looking to team up as wingmen

Don't go to Belgium in January since all the students have exams and will be studying instead of partying or walking the streets.

France doesn't suffer from this problem - Toulouse is very nice.

Finland will be your best bet by far for girls and get ONS. Avoid Belgium, France and Germany , the girls are cold and not good looking. Belgium must be the most terrible country in West Europe for girls, similar for France.

Can I recommend Marseille? No idea on gaming potential, but I went there in November a couple of years back, and although the locals were all wrapped up in winter wear, I was walking around in an open necked shirt, with my jacket slung over my shoulder. A friend of mine there once sent me an e-mail in January, telling me that she'd been stood on the roof of her apartment that morning in her nightdress, brushing her teeth! Try that in Blighty!

Also, although the second city, far less hectic and crowded than you might think during the day.

Toulouse or Bordeaux in France is pretty nice. News flash: French girls are not cold to those who speak French. And I once hosted an American friend here who didnt speak one ounce of French and totally killed it.

Girls in these second-tiered cities are much warmer than Paris, and Bordeaux is beautiful, without the shit and stink from rapefugees in Paris. Toulouse is cheap and apparently the city of singles in France.

You don't even need to be fluent in French. Just enough to start a conversation and say a few words. That shows you're making at least some effort, and not just a typical ignorant American/British tourist trying to talk to everyone in English from the get-go.
