Now that the Left is doubling-down on censorship - by trying to block "fake news", ban prominent Alt-Right Twitter accounts and manipulate the trending algorithms more than ever, it is high time we take control of one of our strongest weapons - Social Media.



On the mass media front we're doing well. Nobody trusts the old media outlets anymore. Trump will continue to diminish their power, Breitbart will multiply in popularity and so will other new media outlets (as long as we support them).

On the social media front however there's still much progress to be made. Twitter and Facebook were essential in our persuasion campaign to get Trump elected, but the globalists have become wise to that, which is why they're now trying to make it impossible to us to win in arguments (like we always do) by banning us completely.

Unfortunately right now all of our people are moving onto another platform Gab which is sympathetic to Alt-Right views. This is not a long-term solution however because it becomes an echo chamber for only people banned from Twitter and also has a rather limited target audience since it'll be strongly associated as being a "far-right" website.

There is however another solution, one that already is extremely popular but has received a global news blackout because of how damaging it is to globalist power: Steem.



Steemit.com is a gateway to view the Steem cryptocurrency blockchain (the blockchain is a major feature that makes Bitcoin work, and is essentially an ordered list of transactions which is duplicated to many peers).

Steem is worth $25 million currently and is #12 for cryptocurrency market capitalisation, which makes it even more surprising that it's not known yet in our circles (although it has been mentioned on the Corbett Report).

Steemit.com has a Reddit-like interface but allows you to make long Medium-like posts, and every post made is actually a cryptocurrency transaction which is permanently saved to the Steem blockchain. This means that the Steem blockchain is uncensorable (here's the blockchain explorer to see the data "raw", you'll notice that upvotes and posts are built directly into the blockchain).

There is one limitation however and it is that only text content can be stored on the blockchain, so multimedia has be embedded/linked from off-site hosts (e.g. Imgur, YouTube etc). However IPFS is planned to be implemented soon, which allows decentralised permanent storage + hyperlinks to multimedia.

Another innovative feature they've added is micropayments, and that every upvote is actually a micropayment (e.g. can be less than $0.01 per upvote up or as much as you like). This makes it extremely easy for content creators, curators and commenters to get paid (and I've seen many posts that earn 3 figures each).

It also prevents the problem that mainstream social media has with promoted content being more visible than user content, because on Steemit if more of the audience cares about a topic enough to upvote it then the corporate material won't be visible at all.

And you can maintain anonymity if desired, unlike traditional social media. Either use this public anonymous account to make posts or have someone do the phone verification for you for $1 to get an anonymous account.

All in all I think this truly could be the gamechanger and a major blow to Twitter and Facebook, which is needed as there's little other competition in this space.

Steemit's current featureset is going to keep gaining them more content creators who want to get paid, thought leaders, free speech/cryptocurrency/privacy advocates and hopefully soon to be the Alt-Right also.

No, it can be done for free. Should have been more clear: there is no minimum charge for likes/posts, but they technically are "transactions" on a blockchain.

Free. When you create a Steemit account you automatically get a Steem wallet built-in, so all you have to do is sign-up then make one comment or post and you can get paid.

I just took a look at the website and had a few questions. Is the $ amount below each post how much each person has earned for that post and I assume that is paid in bitcoin?

Also I assume if you want to start earning money on posts you can not sign up anonymously correct?

Yes, but it's paid in Steem, their own cryptocurrency. You can change to Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency very quickly via ShapeShift or use an exchange to convert it to fiat currency.

No, you can be anonymous and still get paid. People just upvote/donate to your wallet like normal, there's no verification check required.

Thank you for sharing this site, Valentine. Honestly, as someone who wants to create interesting and helpful content, this site seems revolutionary. Not just for the monetary aspect, though it is a fascinating concept to be able to reward someone for writing something beneficial with a bit of money. It also has a lot of anonymity and security features that seem interesting as well.

The monetary concept is interesting in far greater ways than using it as a way to "make money". When it actually costs something to upvote a post, then the top-voted posts will likely need to offer greater value than simply being interesting or funny. Especially getting in near the ground floor of a site like this, I hope to use it to develop my writing skills without the distraction of having to maintain my own site.

The internet is constantly shifting and evolving before our eyes, year by year. I think that ideas like this are what push the medium forward.

What we need out of social media is broadcast access to the greater public. We have to go where they are, if we all retreat to alternatives we'll just be talking to each other in our little containment area and not having any impact. Like it or not our twitter/facebook/google presence must continue until people move on to the next thing

First of all I haven't said to stop using Twitter/Facebook completely. There's no reason why you can't share your posts across multiple platforms.

Secondly, who's to say there's no impact? As far as I can see Alt-Right figureheads are getting banned and shadowbanned in droves, so by the time you've built up any sort of influence on one of their platforms you could then lose access to it permanently.

Steem on the other hand is rapidly gaining market share and you can never be banned from using it.

Technically yes, since Steemit is just a web gateway to view the Steem blockchain.

In practice though it's not currently part of the source code (Steemit.com is open-source in addition to the Steem cryptocurrency) and they'd have less motivation to do so as Steem posts are permanent anyway.

There are several ways to avoid any censorship that may occur on Steemit.com though:

- Run your own self-hosted copy of Steemit
- Use a new Steemit server e.g. this Tor-based darknet one (or via clearnet web gateway)
- Use a desktop client to view Steem posts (currently only a command line version available, GUI client is in closed alpha)

The problem with these "alternative" social media sites is that they fail to recognize the basis of ALL social media: Women.

Until you can get the selfie-posting millennial to join, it will never be mainstream and thus never matter.

Reddit has done pretty well without features for easy selfies. This is more comparable to Reddit to be fair, whereas the upcoming AKASHA social media platform looks more Twitter/Facebook-like.

(Not worried about it since these guys are new and hungry and won't become tyrants for another 10 years at least.)
