This is something that those of us who are corporate guys and those doing research are familiar. A 2 or 3 day event where companies and/or universities take part. People presenting the latest developments in their field via a workshop. Multiple workshops happening at the same time, teatime, lunch time, then more workshops. After presenting your work if you have any, you can join any other talk. Poster presentation where people walk around looking at them. It goes on for the whole day till about 5. Good opportunity to expand your professional circle. You might never see these people again after these few days. She is in a new place, new people, no friends and family so nobody to judge her, So...

What about Gaming in these 2 scenarios?

1. You are a participant - You approach her. Exchanging work details would be a good opener in this case?

Logistics is gonna be easy, most of the time their company pays for it and its some fancy hotel nearby.

How do you close? Get her number asking for a meetup for drinks in the evening? Or meeting her after the conference and suggesting looking around the city together? She is probably going to have a look around the city anyway. Would isolating her from her colleagues be a challenge?


2. You are part of the organizing institute - How do you approach? How do you exhibit higher value? Or you might be just be ushering people or registering the people. Either way, you will be interacting with a large number of women very quickly and can legitimately approach women. You are working so you do not have time to make long convo, how do you make an impression fast?


It would be great if guys with experience in this setting can chime in.


(Obvious) DISCLAIMER: The intention is not to set up business relationships with these women at all if you are gaming them. It has got to be someone with whom you have no conflict of interests.

There are great opportunities here.

It all happens are drinks at the bar in her hotel after the days activities.

Its all about getting a meet up with her at her hotel lobby bar for drinks.

Game, drinks and logistics are all sorted.

But we can't suggest that obviously. Do you hang out with her for dinner and slowly make your way to the bar or is just a meet up for drinks and wait for her to suggest her place (a long shot)?

For the former suggestion, you got to leave the conference venue with her and be with her pretty much the whole evening.

I live near a huge five star hotel that has conferences all the time.

I just go for drinks in the lobby bar and approach.

If you are at the conference, of course you can suggest you "catch up for drinks at the lobby bar" after the seminars - to debrief, discuss and unwind.

They will be receptive because no one wants to eat or drink alone, they are away from home, and they can get laid where no one will know or tell.

How is the ease of isolation in these events?

If you were at a conference, and agree to meet to meet up for drinks after the event, that would be around 6pm. What would you do to burn the time? Normally drink meetups take place later at 9pm or later. Would you then tour the city and have dinner with her before coming back to the lobby bar?
