After contracting HIV, most people will turn positive in 4 weeks, average being 22 days.

It's a bit expensive, and not very specific so it's not used as a diagnostic tool (it's rather used for positive patients to adjust their treatment regimen) but for you it'll either be undetectable, or it'll show >100,000 copies per milli litre in which case you can assume you're positive.

In either case you shouldn't be worried that much. Raw vaginal sex as the male is the lowest risk group. But that being said anyone can win the lottery so get tested.

Last month, I made an appointment to go see a doctor about a stubborn case of athlete's foot. Since I was a new patient, he wanted to do his due diligence and order a full blood panel and urine screening to make sure everything's in order. Today I had my followup appointment, and I'm pleased to say I'm healthy as a horse.

As the doctor's reading off my negative STD results, he goes into a story about how he had to tell one of his patients she has HIV yesterday. Now I know doctors aren't supposed to reveal other people's medical information, but it's not like he told me her name or anything. It was more along the lines of, "I'm glad to see you're being safe and taking care of yourself because..." type of thing.

I'm not fear mongering nor advocating being "afraid" of STD's. I am advocating sensible caution and reasonable preventative measures.
I think it's irresponsible to treat STD's like they're a common cold, it's not doing individuals or the wider community any favours. Every time we use antibiotics to treat diseases we could have easily prevented we're adding another straw to the stack of making diseases immune to that antibiotic.

I'm not trying to have a go at you, I just think people need to treat these diseases with a certain level of seriousness.

That's the best description I've ever heard of the spreading of STDs. Seriously, being cavalier about rawdogging and STDs is so beyond stupid. STD rates are rising at a scary rate and its because of this mentality from both men and women. 100% agree.

I just lost my driving license for going 40kph over the limit. I thought "fuck! the cops got me, how unlucky am I?". But in reality I was speeding all the time and slowing down when I saw cops and knew where the cameras were. It was only a matter of time before I got pinged. The same is true when you're rawdogging promiscuous girls. One of these girls is going to have something, serious or not, and if you play the numbers game long enought you might get a disease...or worse, knock her up.

I think we've all taken some risks that in hindsight were incredibly stupid.

If you're only fucking a girl every year or two then maybe who cares. But if you're plowing through 2-4+ girls a month then treating it like a joke is stupid.

As fun as this all is, there are huge downside risks which are quite sobering to consider.
