They are right to do so, to some degree - there have been rapes and murders of foreign girls in the past - but the female (and beta male) teachers do take it to another level.

After talking to the students about safety, they tell them stories about dangerous situations from the past. They paint Vancouver into a slightly unsafe place, but one that would become potentially worse if they do certain things to bring that upon themselves.

Of course one of these is to talk with strange men. Any strange man. One girl told me that the Japanese liaison had told the female students that any men talking with them here are probably creepy and only looking to "hook up". They suggested that the students stick together and socialize in packs when they went out at night.

Many of these teachers need this in order to keep their students under the influence of their power. Often they are the ones that have a fear of their attractive students getting friends from outside the school as then the game would be up. The locals such as myself would be able to see that some of these teachers are in sexual purgatory and are largely considered losers by their local peers. Having power in the classroom over these international students is understandably very important for them to hold on to, so they resort to typical SJW and cockblocking tactics in order to stop us from having fun with foreign students.

The main organizer of the event who aided Peterson was also Chinese. In 20 -30 years from now, the make up of TO is going to change again -- and mostly Asians will be taking over and the LGBT will be quietly fading away. Of course with the Chinese taking over, a whole new set of problems will begin anew -- with the Chinese being the Oppressors - and they have good experience at that.

I like the Chinese in Toronto. I have always got along with them well because of my own right-wing values. The Chinese will not seek to oppress any non-Chinese people. What they do is isolate themselves in Chinatown districts and push all the non-Chinese out.

However if you're seeing some younger Chinese displaying backbone at protests, that's interesting and it may be a "Bruce Lee" type phenomenon. But these bold younger Hong Kong types tend to embrace western values such as capitalism, freedom and privacy. They're not communists. This sounds like a good thing.

I listened to the interview between Gad Saad and Peterson, and I think the real problem is that he is an academic through and through. He will have main point, and his main point is buoyed by two sub points that each have subpoints of their own, and most people want a sound bite, and he is just too intellectual to see that seriously talking about anything just loses too many people.

I listened to a couple of his lectures on depth psychology. He believes that treating debate as a purely rhetorical exercise focused on winning is evil. That is where he thinks fascism comes from. He speaks openly how people who do that are people who don't know themselves and have wholly identified with their social personas, as in, on the side of the angels, which allows them to engage in all sorts of evil, while at the same time believing that other people are the evil ones.

His only hope would be to set up a debate with stringent rules that forced the SJWs to behave themselves.

Sadly, I don't think that would work either.

The only bright spot in all this, as he said on his interview with Gad Saad, is that he doesn't view the whole thing as a debacle. He said that most of the responses he has gotten in person and online have been positive, and he feels that he is speaking what is on the minds of many.

It just doesn't seem that way because the ones who make the most noise online are the freaks.

Very interesting analysis debeguiled. Thank you for that. I have not listened to his lectures, nor will I. His manner of speaking annoys the hell out of me. So your analysis is valuable to me since I trust your judgment.

The point you made in bold above is striking to me. This is a typical Canadian attitude. Your average Canadian is a socialist and I dare say that Professor Peterson is one himself. What I am getting at is that Canadian socialists hate salesmen. This is why they hate Donald Trump on a visceral level. Salesmen use rhetoric to "win", i.e. to close the sale. Peterson doesn't want to have to "sell" his arguments because he "knows" they are "true". He wants to keep muttering his little quiet dialectic arguments and wait around for people to simply calm down and listen to his truth. Hey... that's his prerogative. But it's a shame because there are a lot of people listening to him right now and looking to him for leadership.

His mission, should he choose to accept it, is to lead them. He will not accomplish said mission with dialectic. So if he thinks rhetoric is evil, well, that's certainly an understandable point of view. But look, violence is also evil. But sometimes you have to do a little evil in the pursuit of good. If the Allied Powers had decided in 1939 that violence was evil, Britain would have kept Neville Chamberlain as Prime Minister and they might be all speaking German right now. If George Washington and his mates had eschewed violence, America would never have happened.

Knowing when to use rhetoric responsibly is a lot like knowing when to use violence responsibly. It's an integral part of being a man.
