It's a five thirty eight quote. Silver point blank dismissed Trump's candidacy until it was staring him smack bang in the face. This forum knew it was a lock months before Nate even fathomed the concept. The biggest issue with Nate Silver is that he lets his bias distort his very own methodology. Even when his own methodology is pointing directly at a Trump victory.



The other factor is that his success is limited. He is wrong just as often as he is right. He rose to prominence from the 2012 election for predicting an accurate result. The L.A Times poll did so as well. A poll which has Trump leading, and that Silver has more or less, dismissed.

The reason Gallup doesn't do election polling today is because it has become notoriously unreliable... The methodology just hasn't caught up with the technology, and with a growing number of partisan polling organizations the data is skewed to the point where an accurate conclusion is difficult to get at best.

Further, if we are going to give Nate Silver any credibility in this election which he has gotten wrong routinely: Just over ten days ago, Nate Silver had Trump at a 50/50 chance of winning the election. We are four weeks out.
