Open Mic Comedy. In Chicago, there are many venues for open mic. It's often free, starting times vary say 6-10pm on Monday-Thursday's. It's great since many comedians tell sex jokes, they can break the ice for you. Often there are just a few patrons in attendance, they are usually outnumbered by comedian's in the audience waiting to get up to do their set. Many comedians are new and just practicing their material, so some poor comedy should be expected. Since I'm in a good mood, I find myself laughing during most sets. The comedian's seem to appreciate an audience of non comedians so they can gauge the reactions of their jokes. Overall, its cheap, fun and "icebreaking", great for a first or second date.

reviving an old thread for a newly found date idea that has been working for me:

Home made sushi.

It's simple, fun, cheap, delicious, and shows you have some culture in your personality.

Startup cost:
Bamboo roller - $5
Sushi serving kit - $20 at bed bath and beyond. Optional.
soy sauce + wasabi sauce - $25ish. Wasabi sauce is expensive but one bottle will last awhile.

So about $50 to gather the materials, $25 if you don't go with the Asian themed serving kit.


Date cost:
seaweed wrap (called Nori) - $10 for a bundle of 50
rice - $2-3
assorted vegetables - $5
meat - $5-6


For less than $25 you have a pretty cool interactive date idea at your house. Throw in some Sake and it's game on. Also sushi is simple to make and very good for you. Make a few rolls on sunday and you have lunch all week already prepared for only a couple bucks a serving.

Best used on a girl you've already banged, or a day 2-3 date.

edit - if the girl is a vegetarian you go do the california roll. If the girl doesn't like raw meat, you can fry up and some battered chicken/shrimp to use

Here are some of my favorite (Some specific to the DC area). Most good for first date, second date/before banging, or good for after banging as well.

Park - throw frisbee, shoot hoops - rock creek park or smaller rock creek park "annexes"
Going on a hike
Free museums if your city has them
Free art galleries - if you live in DC google "first Friday" - the first friday of every month lots of galleries around dupont are free and serve alcohol (not free) as well
Waterfront bars/cantina
Monuments at night - most girls have done this but they look different at night, less crowded, etc...
Bike ride - your bikes or a bikeshare if you don't have them
Fishing
Free outdoor markets, especially on Saturdays/Sunday
Block parties, etc... Check your city's subreddit or other social outlets to figure out when and where these are.
Botanical Gardens
Hanging out on your friends apartment buildings rooftop and drinking

I've never tried open-mic comedy before but saw that mentioned once or twice and will be giving that a shot in the future.

Has anyone successfully tried the activities/locations listed above?

There's lots of parkland, a huge playground, and a graveyard both where I live and near my parents' place (where I'd house-sit over the summer).

I'm a terrible skateboarder and rollerblader, but I'd long been toying with the idea of the latter as a date idea. It seems like a good way to generate loads of oxytocins given the kino involved.

It's the same with a playground date, there's one literally a 5 minute walk from mine, on the way back from a few bars — but on the other side of the bigger bar precinct. I'd pair that with drinks at the bar beforehand or at least bringing along a bottle of wine and a picnic rug.

I've got a Tinder date lined up for tomorrow whereby I'm seriously banking on the latter location. She lives nearby (quite a number of my Tinder matches do, of late).

What do you reckon of the likelihood of first-date sex resulting from these sorts of dates? The playground seems ideal for escalating to a kiss, although as per Tuth's first-date bang formula, I should wait until we're back at mine?

The Museum of Science has Friday hours, until 9 PM. There are a bunch of bars down the street which provide the perfect venue change setup.

I've taken four first dates here, and been laid twice for my efforts, plus a BJ in the damn museum parking garage.

Creativity seems to be rewarded, plus making your date feel like a kid again. I'm going to try Legoland next...

I've brought up the possibility of a date at IKEA to a couple online girls. Amazingly, most thought it was a really intriguing plan! I never actually went through with it though, because unfortunately the logistics setup for the location near me is poor (it's out in the boonies.) I don't think they'd appreciate me using their bedroom display area to..you know...

In NYC however I think the IKEA is positioned quite well in Brooklyn?

I may do it this summer regardless of the poor logistics here just for the hell of it. See how far I can get in one of those Swedish bedroom displays. Game goals.

I have a farm so sometimes I just make them come with me on a drive, this is usually after we've banged a few times and around date 4 or 5 if I'm still seeing them. Take them on some back roads, drink some beers, shoot some skeets, show them my horse and then bang them in the truck. Perfecto! Usually for all of these activities the girls are in awe because most of them don't know how to do shit anymore, so riding a horse or shooting a gun really gets their juices going.

I'm not sure why this seems so complicated.
In my playing days, I'd do the SAME shit with EVERY chick, because its always NEW to HER and I'm completely in my element and my game is damn near on autopilot.
I've had the most repetitive success, taking a new chic to a super-dive ass bar, playing pool, playing the same specific songs on the jukebox and ordering the same drinks. If another meet/greet is necessary, I have another low-key cigar lounge with low light and big leather wing back chairs that sets the tone.
The staff at all these spots know me, hooked my drinks up, and made the ladies feel extra comfortable.

On average it would take 2-3 meet n greets to get her comfort level up to come back to my spot. (1) is always coffee at my favorite coffee house, (2) is mentioned above, and (3) is back to my condo

The point of the date is access to YOU, not to impress them with memorable activities. The only thing unique and memorable about the date should be YOU.

My cheap date solution is visiting the local observatory and watching the stars. The observatory in my city is open to visitors from 8-10 PM, and it's free. You get to watch the stars and planets and learn something new every time. There are always some visitors around, so the host has to let everyone watch a certain object before pointing the telescope to a new one. These interludes (when you wait for others to finish watching) are great for conversing with the girl, enjoying the night view of the city from the dome's terrace, and even escalating if things go well - I had a great date with one chick there, kissing and groping on the backside of the terrace underneath the night sky.

Right beneath the observatory there's a great bar I use for venue change. The observatory is located in the old city, so in addition to that there's also plenty of great scenery for taking a walk.

This is excellent.

Although I would argue it's not about if the girl likes it beforehand - it's about you showing her a good time with something you enjoy yourself and have mastery over.

What's also brilliant is that the best natural lighting is at sunrise and sunset.

Pick an interesting neighborhood with bars nearby and schedule the date for about 2 hours before sunset. Walk around and shoot some pics - you first, and then you show her how and let her do it. Take pictures of her. Ask her to take yours. Play around with subjects, challenges.

After the sunset you can't shoot anymore - there's no light. She's been with you for a couple of hours, she's comfortable. Invite her to a bar to have a snack (walking around for 2h gets you hungry) and review the pics.

Smooth transition. Now it's night time and you're having a drink - bingo.

I've gotta agree ^^ After the first 1-3 low-key "catch up for drinks" type dates and the fornication, then you may decide if you wanna keep seeing her, if so then some of the date ideas above are good options.

I'm currently looking for a GF/ plate (i know- this might be the wrong forum to post on lol) just so i can get regular sex without putting in too much effort.

I'm free nearly every evening after class- If i had more money i would take girls i met in class to a bar or out for a meal but unfortunately I dont have enough money for this kind of life style.

What do you guys suggest?

Invite them over to your place for a get together. Invite her and your friends. For drinks put a cheap drink in a more expensive bottle. Like Smirnoff in a grey goose bottle. Girls love grey goose even if it's not grey goose.

Walk around campus.

Library. Computer lab. Caf.

Coffee and ice cream are always cheap.

Campus should have plenty of free events.
