RE: The Colombia Master Thread
I was just looking into the border situation in Colombia with Cucuta. I dont see what is the issue. What is the criticism for?

I think you are just being to critical. No nsense in complaining about that. I am allowed to tlak about the border situation period. So I wont pay attention to you. I was only talking about the border crossing. Like I bet a million dollars there is nothing wrong with that. If I go to the cucuta crossing am I like violating rules or something?
I think it will be good on my part if I am actually able to confirm that you can cross somewhere that someone else said you cant use. When I report back from there, it can only be useful to others to know how it went.

Maybe you should go away since you seem to be bothered by talking about a border crossing when there is nothing wrong with it. Rather than criticizing, why dont you confirm what is wrong with talking about crossing at Cucuta?

God you are an Idiot. That photo you posted is when they opened the border for a very short time so people could cross and buy food. Hence the rush and flood of people at one time. The boarder was closed again right away. I said you could probably cross if you pay a guard...

You clearly don't understand or comprehend the information I was offering. Im not making this stuff up. I just crossed that very bridge 2 months ago and guess what... I paid a guard off to do it. I gave you valuable advice on the currency and how to not get fucked on the exchange and what to expect while traveling through the security checks.

I have new advice for you though. Go to Venezuela... good luck with your sense of adventure... and great logic BTW.. "nothing happened to me in Philippines so Im sure ill be safe in the country with the highest murder rate in the world." Traveling in Venezuela is no joke and is very different than traveling anywhere else.

Now that you've been banned we can get back to talking about what this threads really about. Colombia. My favourite Country on this planet.

If you have your shit together though it is probably 5x easier (if not more so) to bang young sexy fun 7+ Colombia girls compared to America, and I am guessing Argentina as well. That's what matters to me.

^Well-said, I agree on the above quote...

To sum it up, Colombia certainly has a lot less beautiful women (think HB7, 8, 9, 10) than Moscow, Kiev, or (believe it or not) Paris, and I'd say Bangkok (if you have "yellow fever", that is)... but, yes, the Colombian 6s and 7s or even 8s are indeed way more accessible (and friendly and fun) than their colleagues from previously mentioned cities.

So ok, Colombia remains one of the best destinations of the world. By the way, I will shock you maybe, but I prefer Quilla over Cartagena, for several reasons (not for historical reasons of course): less touristy-trap, with chicks more authentic (and humble even), more variety and fairness in women, restaurants cheaper, also. Quilla also is not that ugly, by South American standards, it's quite ok (at least in normal, medium-class barrios).

Anyway... I'm curious about 2d or 3d tier Colombia, which I don't know apart from Quilla. What would be your favorite 2d or 3d tier city, at the moment, in Colombia?

RE: The Colombia Master Thread
I would agree that The cities you mentioned have a higher quantity of hot girls (except maybe Bkk)
I was just in Paris a week ago and I 100% agree that is is full of sexy girls from all over the world.

The thing I love about Latinas in general though is how warm and passionate they are. EE girls seem to be much colder and take much more work to create the connection. Latinas want to be romanced and will you reward you fast for it if you can do it right.

I also prefer Quilla much more than Cartagena but both places are just too hot for me to stay long term. Ive always found Cartagena to be too full of pros and overpriced on everything. I love the look of girls from the coast though.

For me Medellin is the best spot. Ive heard a lot of other guys say its harder to pull in Medellin but there are some amazing girls if you know where to look. All the guys I rolled with and myself never had any problems meeting Paisas. The weather and quality of life is amazing in Medellin.

Cali has a certain charm for me as well. There is not much to do but if you can keep yourself busy with something and stick around for awhile and have a little bit of game or good looks, you will be rewarded with some really amazing girls.

I am also really curious about the 2d or 3rd tier cities. Ill be back to Colombia in January. That might be on the agenda to finally check some out.

In my eyes, a Moscow/Kiev 7-10 beats a Colombian 7-10 mainly because they normally come a little bit more cultured/interesting to talk to (the average education levels are still higher in EE despite an overall degradation over the past 20 years).

However, after you have banged a lot in EE, you notice that classy Bogota girls are less slutty than EE girls (not talking about middle or lower class). They are more conservative, less globalized, which makes them better in this respect.

I would disagree on the accessibility. Being from EE myself there is absolutely no problem to score 8-10 in Moscow, exactly as there is no problem for me to score an 8-10 in Bogota. Maybe it is because I speak Spanish fluently too.

I have never met a guy who has no problems scoring 8-10 girls on a regular basis.
The only guys I am aware of who score with 8-10 girls regularly are celebs and guys who pay them.

Its always possible that you are super rich, have wizard like game, or are a 10 in looks yourself. Maybe we have different views on what a 10 is though.

For the rest of us mere mortals I think we are usually scoring girls in the 6-7.5 range with the occasional 8 if we are lucky. If we pull a 9 it is one hell of a good night. I have never seen someone pull a 10 in Bogota no matter how good their spanish is lol.

I have no problems since I was 22-23. Not a celebrity, a mere businessman. Out of 100 10s, I would probably get rejected by 20, so I guess that I could do better Smile

Furthermore, I know other guys who are on the same statistics and they ain't no Brad Pitts themselves.

And yes, I know what a 10 is. I am from EE after all Smile

What a shame Cogon has been banned Big Grin

Let's get back to it ... I'm planning a 3 month Colombia trip, starting February next year - I haven't booked anything yet but this is 100% happening. My plan so far:

- 1 month Bogota, Airbnb around calle 85/carrera 15. Spanish course for the whole month at Nueva lingua, where scotian recommended earlier (thanks!)
- 2 week break in Cali with a few salsa lessons thrown in
- 1 month Medellin, go to another Spanish school - will probably stay around Parque Lleras like a typical gringo
- Last 2 weeks somewhere on the coast to chill out - Cartagena or from what you guys above are saying maybe Barranquilla is a better option

I just did a Spanish course for a 3 weeks in Barcelona and it's a definite plus in the eyes of any local chicas, separates you from the average tourist and shows you're there for more than one thing Tongue I can already date in Spanish but at a pretty basic level - looking forward to improving that massively, hitting the gym hard and hopefully meeting some forum guys.

I was originally planning to spread the 3 months over most places in SA but decided to just to focus on Colombia for now. Anything you'd change with the above plan?

^Yes, I would not leave Medellin after just one month. You'll be near conversational in Spanish, with a social-circle starting to look good, and just then, you'll leave... Confused
Also, why do you think Cartagena and Quilla are better than MDL to "chill out"? Because of the more-or-less-easily-accessible beaches? Well, good luck "chilling" in Cartagena beaches, with beach vendors pestering you like, every 5 minutes. Even local (non-poor) people don't go to Cartagena beaches, they take their cars and go further on, outside the city limits. Better stay in Medellin and reap the fruits of your first month there...

This sounds like a pretty good plan, I would adjust it a bit to make sure that you spend at least a few days in the coffee zone (Pereira, Manizales, etc), I usually bus it between Cali and Medellin, a bus to Pereira from Medellin is about 5 hours so I'll stay there for a couple of days before taking a 3 hour bus to Cali. Two weeks on the coast is enough, like Vancity said before, Cartagena is overpriced and overrated but definitely stay for a couple of days to check it out before moving on. Barranquilla in my opinion is a shit hole but there's small pockets in the city that are nice, livable and the girls are very gringo friendly. I would also plan to hit up Santa Marta/Taganga/Tayrona areas and recommend bringing a girl from Barranquilla to those spots.

I think that the next time I"m down there I'm going to fly to the coast and from there take buses all the way down the eastern part and hit up the bigger cities along the way: Rio Hacha, Valledupar, Cucuta, Bucaramanga. I'd also like to do a off-the-beaten-path trip from Quibdo in Choco up to Turbo by river boat, its to bad Cogon was banned, he could have come on that jungle trip with me, idiot!

God damned them all, I was told we'd cruise the seas for American gold, we'd fire no guns-shed no tears, now I'm a broken man on a Halifax pier, the last of Barrett's privateers!

I don't post as much anymore mainly because there seems to be so many experts now on Colombia. I never understood how one can claim this is how it is, and this is the best place to go.....(and ironically not even live in the country anymore)...or they start posts with "I will tell you how it is in Colombia".....bottom line we all have varying tastes, varying styles, and what works for one may not work or hold true for others...the beauty of Colombia is you have so many different climates, cities, and environments to choose from.....simply enjoy it.

My advice, if the place you choose does not resonate with you venture on.... have some forward thinking and some adventure in you....travel for yourself, get off the internet. Have some real life contact with the locals and enjoy this wonderful country.

So much over thinking and analyzing, there use to be a day when a man traveled with a small guidebook, not worrying about all the details, and found his own adventures......

RE: The Colombia Master Thread
I agree with Tully. Nobody can say that "this is how it is" in a certain place. What was amazing for me might be mediocre for you. There are however some pretty general opinions that are shared by many on certain places. For instance Cartagena. Most guys would agree that its not a great place to spend a long period of time unless you are into p4p. It is for sure much more expensive and it is for sure full of hookers. The best advice is to get around and experience it all yourself and find what works for you. Some guys find what their looking for in Cali and stay there and some guys love Bogota.

For me Its Medellin. I think Going Strong nailed it when he said give Medellin more time. Even for me, a guy who has been there many times and has contacts, it takes a few weeks to get into the groove and get the ball rolling. You might be cutting yourself off too short. Medellin is definitely a better spot to chill imo. As mentioned Cartagena is a tourist trap and its hard to relax with everyone trying to get you to buy something. There is not much to do in Quilla besides chasing women.

As a first trip to Colombia with only 3 months you might just have to get a little taste of each spot though. Definitely take Scotians advice and get out to the coffee district in between medellin and cali. Once you have had a taste of it all you can always come back and spend more time in the places you resonated with. Obviously the more time you spend in 1 place the better results and lifestyle you will be able to build.

RE: The Colombia Master Thread
I know what you're saying but there's no harm in a little research - like how bad logistics can really fuck up a trip if you book an apartment in a shitty area or far from the nightlife, or in this case scotians given me a few extra places to visit.

The reason I changed plans to spend the whole 3 months in Colombia was because once I realised it has so many very different areas/cities and as many differing opinions on them - I wanted to see and find out for myself. Don’t stop posting about Colombia, reading about it on here is one of the only things keeping me sane until I can escape next year!

GS - yeah I was thinking about the beaches on the coast! And just a change of scenery from big city life, but it does make sense to maybe stay longer in Medellin once I‘ve put in the groundwork. I’ll leave the month open ended so I’ve got the option to stay when it comes to it.

Scotian I was going to try and avoid long bus journeys as much as possible on this trip and just fly everywhere but that Cali-Medellin trip with a stop in between doesn’t sound too bad at all. Good luck with your jungle trip, I bet it will be awesome.
