RE: Friend of a friend came out of the closet last week....
My cousin just came out as "bi" last month... Mid 30s with a wife and children under 4.
He comes from a good nuclear family with brothers and sisters, brought up with good balance of traditional values and liberal values (respect parents and elders, be kind to neighbours, be tolerant and accepting of others, be polite). I'd say my aunt and uncle raised their kids even better than my own parents did me and my siblings.
He's always been the most effeminate, and "not raise your voice" one in the family, but never overly so, has no real gay vibe. His wife is a liberal hippy, and turned him vegan 5 years ago, I kind of wonder if that has something to do with it. He's also in a career where he's surrounded all day long by women and hard left wing policy makers. About as emasculating of a job as a man can have these days.
My dad wishes he never told us. Told me he'd prefer he just keep it in the closet if he's not going to act out on it anyways (cousin says he's committed to his wife and family, just wanted us to know this secret truth about him).
I hope their family remains intact. It will interesting to see how their kids fare though... They are being raised similarly to what my aunt and uncle did, to be very respectful, sociable, dosile, amenable, polite children. And of course vegan. I'm going to have start sneaking the boy pieces of my steak and hamburgers when he gets older.
Glad to have got that off my chest... I have no one I can tell in person.

What a strange thing to do. The cousin wants the D, but he's not planning to go through with it, because he still values his marriage and family, and wants to keep them intact. I'd say he is doing the right thing, but he really ought to keep it to himself.
Lots of people have secret fantasies. Look at women's fantasies in "My Secret Garden". Many of these fantasies are things that people think of and get turned on by thinking about them, but would never want to act on it.
To me, it's no different for your cousin, but for some reason, he feels that this is now an identity for him, that he has to share publicly. I guess in the SJW community, it's trendy to be something other than normal cis-straight binary gendered, so it's become a form of virtue signaling to say you're something else, even if you live like a normal person.

^ I agree Curtains. Of course it's unclear if my cousin has been active with this lifestyle in the past, or if this is a new found realisation of urges for him. It's also unclear if this was something his wife knew about before they got married, or not. Nobody asked...
If the latter, I'm worried he's just confused and may be getting conned into believing something about himself due to the influence of individuals and society around him. To make a big deal out of something that is not, especially in his sjw line of work.
Saying "that is an attractive man" doesn't make a guy gay, IMO. But I can just see some meddling women or degenerate friends trying to convince a perhaps already effeminate man that having an innocent, fleeting feeling of being able to recognise one man as more attractive than another man, is in someway the repressed urges of a gay person.
In college we had this hideous bull dyke calculus professor, followed next period by a very handsome Spanish man physics professor. Sometimes us guys would joke about if we'd rather fuck the handsome guy or the dyke, that it was a tough call. Just typical male juvenile banter comraderie talk, for a laugh.
But I can't help but feel that in the right circumstances and right company that a sexually and socially inexperienced man could get conned into somehow "identifying" with a fucked up SJW label because he had a conversation about sexuality with the wrong kinds of people.

RE: Friend of a friend came out of the closet last week....
My view is that cumulative factors cause homosexuality. Trauma esp childhood trauma. Inability to "solve" women. Merciless promotion of homosexualism in the media. And most importantly, ENDOCRINE DISRUPTORS ie pollutants that turn males female and vice versa. All of these causes are FULLY treatable. So it saddens me that homosexualism practicers are being utterly lied to.
Endocrine disruptors are destroying human (and animal) fertility. They cause cancers, birth defects, low IQ, genital defects and much more.
I cannot and will not support something that has been caused by poisons in our environment and by psychological trauma/brainwashing. Additionally, the small number of male homosexuals I have known have tended to have had rather disturbing views on certain matters relating to children and sexuality. And I make that comment entirely honestly.
We should not hate homosexuals, IMO. But we should tell them the truth of their condition. And ask them NOT to attempt to convert others (esp children!) or show their sexual likings in inappropriate places. We should not be harrassed into giving up our views. Especially because science supports my view and not the view of the so called "SJW" mafia. I can (pretty much) tolerate what homosexuals do in private. But it should be just that - private. Much the same as sado masochism, orgies and a wide range of fetishes. Homosexuals (or other minority sexual fetish groups) should not have privileges that the rest of us are not afforded. And by that, I mean that homosexuality should not be promoted to kids and should not be displayed in an in your face manner in public places like high streets etc. Imagine a straight guy getting off with 3 or 4 women at the same time in McDonalds in the afternoon - most of us would say "not right" - even tho we'd LOVE the idea of an orgy. Likewise do we want ageplayers, S and M'ers etc etc all doing their stuff in public all day?
Finally, I know a male model with lots of (nearly all infact!) homosexual friends. Its his sincere view that childhood abuse has caused his friends homosexuality.

As long as the dude is not a SJW then I don't see a decline.
There were as many gays 100 years ago as there is now, the only difference is that they didn't come out of the closet. It's a genetic disease, as long as it doesn't turn into activism I'm cool with them.
I respectfully disagree. First, if homosexuality is genetic wouldn't it breed itself out of the gene pool due to homosexuals having less children than heteros? Wouldn't there also be a correlation between siblings and other family members having increased incidence of homosexuality? (there is not)
Homosexuality is almost definitely a result of congenital and early childhood chemical imbalances leading to increased estrogen levels. This is why 'gaydar' exists and you can often tell a gay man's face from a photo.
Almost all reputable psychologists view unusual/aberrant psychology as arising from a combination of genetics shaped later by environmental loads. For instance, there are brutalized orphans who are quite happy due to resilience, and spoiled heiresses who become schizophrenic.
There's a chicken and egg problem with your explanation: A very possible explanation of the early childhood estrogen you described would be genetic predisposition. If homosexuality is purely learned environmentally from the parents' behavior, personality is also to some degree inherited from those same parents so there again you have a genetic confound extremely difficult to tease out.
Diabetes, for instance would have died out long ago if non-survivable illness prevented reproduction.
There is also situational homosexuality among prisoners, sailors etc.
I've seen very young kids like 7 years old that are already acting really gay, I think some people are close to born that way. I believe a lot of gay people report they were always attracted to same sex, and I don't believe they're all lying for some obscure political reason.

I was't so much as shocked as I was thinking this sounds like a cop out that reminded me of an old RooshV article.
People who know him are evenly split between "Yeah, I'm not surprised" and "Really?" I think it's exactly what Roosh suggested - that some guys who to through their life being horrible with women and having zero self confidence eventually "discover" they are gay. The fact he's in an area (and an age) which supports this behavior does not help. I'm just waiting for the outward behavior to change - manner of speech, dress, social circle, etc. since up till now he had zero manifestations of being gay in any sense of the word.
The decline continues......
Yeah, I've heard similar stories.
Once heard a guy tell me he knew a guy who was overweight, middle aged, and balding and couldn't get a date with a woman. Then he decided to 'go gay' because now he could get sex whenever he wanted.
Have a hard time believing anyone's 'born that way', if anything it's more likely related to sex hormone levels, or just an adaptive thing people do in times of 'desperation'.
The same reason that "macho" prison inmates who would kill you for suggesting they're gay end up having gay sex in prison.

Where is this gay gene or other genetic evidence of which you speak? Psychologists are not the best source for this and the entire profession is corrupted with enablers.

Still not seeing anything that is homosexual specific with regard to genetics.

This is as irrelevant as it is unpersuasive - is a woman who's kidnapped, pinned down and gang raped a situational slut?

A lot of gay people are going to rationalize later in life for all kinds of reasons - ego being one of them. There are kids as young as six who think they want to be the opposite sex too - parents encourage this nonsense, forgetting the kid is six. They probably want to be President of the US also, but parents talk about sex change operations for them at early ages. What happens when they are 37 and they change their mind? None of this societal warpage has any basis in immutable scientific evidence in the same way as, for example, race does.

RE: Friend of a friend came out of the closet last week....
I'll play the devil's advocate here and say: perhaps it wasn't really about being gay.
Guys who don't work in the square corporate world might not understand how much "getting ahead" requires you adhere to the "square lifestyle."
Once you're middle-aged in your 40s, hell, once you're pushing your mid 30s, if you're still a bachelor while all your co-workers are settled down with kids, people are going to be wondering: "What the fuk is up with this cat?"
There are a few options for a single man in his 40s, two of them bad:
a) he's a habitual player
b) he's an incel beta
c) he's gay.
It's why single women from OKCupid have told me there are just as many men over the age of 30 as desperate to lock a girl down as there are golddiggers. "Oh please, please, marry me so my boss doesn't think I'm not on the program."
Real situation: when it comes to thinking about who to promote, who to downsize, who do you think is going to get the short end of the stick? There's no honor among these squares. The guy making the call is going to go "Oh, he doesn't have a family to support? Well..."
Coming out as gay is a least-worst option for an incel in his 40s. It's an airtight alibi against the discrimination and "managed out" shit list a single straight white guy in his 40s is going to be on. If I were such a man, I'd openly declare I was gay at about age 35, work my ass off as a protected class for 5 years, and then take my money and fuck off to SE Asia.

RE: Friend of a friend came out of the closet last week....
Update - he's about 45 years old now, I think. His parents finally met his boyfriend, who's considerably younger at 22. It was graduation weekend for the boyfriend, and afterwards, a party where everyone behaved, though I bet his dad was crushed.
What's noteworthy is nobody talked about age differences in either family. Instead of vitriolic under the breath comments from the females among friends and family, the women turned out to be the most effusive in praise for their relationship.
A guy who "discovers" he's gay later in life finds his lifestyle not only socially acceptable but concerns about age differences almost completely disappear as well. The social hypocrisy would be stunning if it were not so predictable.
