Fuck that bitch. She came at him sideways while he is doing promo for his film, this was not a fucking roast. I have been in a similar situation when I was trying to get some shit done on a morning calendar in court on a routine motion and opposing counsel (a female) said some sideways shit to me that was inappropriate. Bitches like her did not come up with that insult off the top of her head spontaneously, she planned that shit. Hill was just going to go through his prepared remarks and she got too familiar and disrespectful. She is a nobody and should know her place, not try to shine off of him.

He cancelled and got an apology. He did the right thing for the movie. If he would have had a snappy comeback, the French press would have crucified him for insulting her and the movie would have lost revenue. Then producers would start asking, "Jonah's a funny guy, but do I really want him in my movie if he can't do a press junket?"

Jonah isn't there to act alpha, his entire career is acting beta - and it's netted him $30 million and industry respect at 32 years old.

It was a scripted joke that some guy wrote. It's obvious when you see her facial reaction while trying to push through the joke. She has the "oh crap...is this going to work!?" look on her face, very nervous. She can see on his face that he isnt cool with any of it. Jonah Hill has made his entire career on being a beta. He's overweight and sporting a neckbeard.

Yeah, a guy should always be ready, but this was totally out of left field. She set it up, maybe with the collusion of the rest of them. Maybe she was butthurt that a nebbishy little guy like that could be rich and famous, and she was trying to reassert the hot chick card and get her world back to making sense.

Maybe it was just a shit test, and she was attracted to him, and it was a girly, lame ass attempt at flirting. I put nothing past a female.

I think you are failing to recognize a major point to all of this.

Jonah was there to do business. He is promoting a movie, and showing up at a TV studio to talk to the airheads around that table is for business only, to promote his movie. He is not on The View, or Dr Oz to talk about his feelings. He is doing business. The TV people there are too. Not only did they agree to have him on their show to promote him, but they are reaping the rewards of people tuning in to see him. Its close to what happened here with Mike Tyson -

In your little anecdote, did those peoples' comments cause you to cancel all of your scheduled dates and leave the country immediately? No.

Does cancelling other interviews punish this particular woman or media outlet? No.

Does that make him look professional? No.

Would he have done that if he was not offended? No.

Therefore I have to conclude that yes, he was butthurt; no, he didn't do this to maintain his professional image; and no, he didn't do this to teach her a lesson -- which are the three main arguments I see made in this thread.
