I thought about this but it would be a shit ton of work to produce a maybe entertaining 10 minute clip. I could do the Travel Bum type of thing where I carry my camera everywhere, hit on girls, show some sexiness, and narrate some facts about the culture, but isn't that boring? Especially if I'm doing it solo and there are no other characters. It would seem like a new job to capture everything on film.
I like how Vice does it by going in with a specific angle or story. They have a mission, they capture it on film, and that's the episode. But going just to film interactions with women doesn't inspire me when I can more clearly show you the culture with words.
Another way is to use video to supplement the writing, where I could have short clips that highlight specific things (i.e. the high heels of Russian women with a two minute clip or some sort of girls in heels... just thinking outloud here).
So my question is how can I better use video to entertain the masses?
I've seen your old videos, and, simple as they were, they were quite funny. I don't think you recquire a whole production here.
The ones you had on Colombia, for example. The one you show images of the city while narrating and the one where you read some "slam poetry". Got me laughing big time.
It is just about capturing some of your humor on screen while somehow tying with your travel/women experiences.

Logistics can be a hassle. Not so much the ideas, but the actual recording, editing, and uploading of the content. Bandwidth size varies from country to country. You might be fine in Eastern Europe but I remember from experience how difficult (agonizingly long) it was to upload video content from my travels while in North Africa and the Middle East compared to the US.
I've used a Flip camcorder in the past, but I don't recommend it. The video quality is kind of choppy, the audio quality is poor, limited lens range, and without very good lighting, you can barely make out the content. Shooting at night is damn near impossible. You also have to be very close to the subject. I've even affixed a wide angle lens to them with no significant improvement.
If you're going with video, it's worth investing in a decent camcorder. The video capability on most cameras is limited (i.e. 1-min increments per video).
As for ideas, I think people would just be interested in seeing a visual to your stories as a way of bringing their imagination to life (i.e. girls, the local characters, and the places themselves). Much easier said than done, and might not be worth it, but perhaps you can play around with the idea if you have the time, resources and patience.
I tried doing this, and it costs production $$$, not to mention that girls FREAK OUT when they are on video, last thing they want is their face on Youtube, and be caught doing stupid shit or being a slut. It has led me to believe that 95% of these pickup videos are rehearsed/staged.
I could convince a girl to blow me in in the back of a parking lot way before I can convince her to simply smile at this fancy HD TV style camera on my shoulder - not kidding!
The only ay I have seen to successfully do this with a modest budget (less than 10,000USD) is with hidden cameras, and an iphone 4s that has 1080P recording capabilities.

Since you have first hand knowledge, how do you think the Travel Bum cat /thread-9197.html got girls to act so natural and un-stressed out with a camera in their mug?

I was amazed how calm they were in those videos, because my gut tells me that having a camera would make girls jumpy, which is what you experienced.
I honestly think that travel bum MUST pay those girls something OR he has hidden cameras - seriously, when a girl would see me approach with a a fancy looking TV camera ( and film crew) the first thing she did was cover her face with her hand, followed by a jumpy "please turn that camera off" demand!
Now, when I would approach girls and give them a "heads-up" that I am filming, then they would either a) be excited and allowed themselves to be filmed, or b) asked to be paid, or c) deny being filmed completely and bolt in another direction. The latter 2 options is what I experienced in Colombia the most 90% of the time. Very rare did one volunteer to dance, and act silly or just be filmed saying hello knowing there is a camera filming her.....and she was not paid to do so.

Mixx, you had a camera man, right? I think you looked like a professional film crew with hats. ha
I don't think the travel bum paid anyone unless it was for the end photo shoot.
I think some differences is he is shooting by himself with what looks like a regular photo camera that has high def video. It also looked like he just had the camera strapped around his neck a lot of time.
I wonder if the camera had a mic port? His audio seemed really good for shooting like that so I could be wrong with my first impressions.
He also seems to have experience working with models, which I would imagine, can easily make a girl feel at ease. Not that you can't but with a camera man standing around would make it harder.
You can get a kodak video camera with high def and a mic jack pretty cheap. They you can purchase those wireless lavaliers which should boost the sound quality. Not as great quality as your first pilot but still good.
This is something I was thinking about doing. I still like the camera approach since it doesn't look like it is filming video.

I'd say short 5-10 min. clips, showing nightlife, etc. would be dope. I like what travel bum has done, but I just think his game is kinda weak. If your game is as tight as I think it is, you can convince girls to show their faces on camera, just be tactful about how you go about doing it.

I agree. Going visual could increase your popularity and open up new avenues should that be something you want.

Video could decimate little-known second-tier gems by throwing the supply of foreigners way out of line with what a particular destination can handle. The absence of exposure is precisely what makes second-tier destinations desirable. Whole markets could be brought to ruin, &c.; the digital shrapnel could force the player underground (second and third-tier cities no longer safe, the player is relegated to fourth-tier shitholes and hamlets, until even they are blown up, and he can find no haven at all). First of all, has anyone tried to film in night clubs?
The only way to roll incognito is with a hidden camera (i've been doing research myself) with night vision. Night vision cameras use infrared LED's which are bright red lights. Girls could easily see this and freak the fuck out!
If you were to film, Roosh, you should focus on daytime events that are rare/unique. Don't go crazy with filming everything you do.

I hope you can get some quality vids out there Roosh, i thought about it too a while ago but saw too many negatives (and costs) to pull it off.
I still have to see the Cuba prostitute vid from Travelbumshow.com but i saw the rest of the ''pick up'' videos and i think they are all staged, i wouldn't go so far as saying he paid for it but the girls clearly want to be photographed as a model for free.
The girls in the vids are not impressed with his "game" which is clearly very beta. The girl at the end of his videos is fucking amazing. I would marry that any day of the year.

It is very choppy and a few bad angles at times so possible he just had the camera round his neck mostly and wasn't obvious he was filming. There's a bit where they are having dinner where the angles are better and less motion and the says something about him filming her again so I think it must be a mix of the two. The two sisters he has a 3some with at the end move the camera away from them in case it's filming.

Colombian women do NOT want to be filmed - she is probably out there dancing when she just told her husband/BF she is at home with her mom! Yes, they freak out about their steady BF who takes them shopping every Sunday finding out their slutty exertions behind their backs - so discretion/privacy/reputation means everything!!

Okay did a quick youtube search and was able to find the vids I was talking about, it's called "in transit", each video in the series is only about 3-5 mins long, but very high quality, interesting, and entertaining.
Dude is a cool guy and probably could kill it on game, but he has a GF, and focuses more on culture, sites, etc.

It's obvious he has a friend filming. Oh yeah and I just realized, that you probably need to film an hour of stuff, and edit it down to 5-10 mins. of interesting stuff.
