I am an asian man and I actually have given a girl a lift on a bicycle to my place for some sex and with cheap rice whisky nightcap. In Vietnam no less . Girl was also in ao dai too. I feel this is an achievement award.

Id agree for the most part in some of the smaller cities ive been it is terrible without a car.

On the other hand I live in Wroclaw and it is probably the most pedestrian friendly city ive ever lived in, ever. Bike lanes everywhere, the center is pedestrian only (bar a few delivery vehicles in the morning) and the trams and buses pretty much cover the whole city.

Only problem is this hasnt stopped people from raping the shit out of car usage so air quality and traffic jams are still terrible, still I live a very comfortable life over here without a car, the most I have in any city Ive lived in in the UK.

Agreed here, the location is important. A major city with good public transport, like Gdansk, makes it preferable to go at it without a car. I live about 30 min outside of a major city, so getting there and back is an ordeal, and downright impossible after 11PM when everything shuts down.

However, even if you live in a major city, you still have to take trains/buses to go to other cities, which in my experience has been disastrous. Even if you pay extra for the Express to avoid smelly, drunk people, there are often delays and problems.

My first trip to Gdansk and local areas was not pleasant at all without a car. I had to adhere to train schedules and rush through every spot I wanted to visit, not to mention the stress of a train being late and then knowing you won't get home because there are no good connections, etc. This summer I drove by car and it made a world of a difference. I could go to the beach when I wanted, I could go and visit tourist sites like Malbork without stressing about running back to catch the last train at 5pm or whatever.

Edit: Biggest advantage of not having a car was the physical fitness I got from running back and forth to my job and trains/buses. Also I had a tan year-round.

Cities without cars? To me this is a sign of progressing communism and who wants to live among communists? I don't. They hate cars because it's a symbol of capitalism, industrialism, independence and freedom. In Poland cities generally still belong to the free world but If I were to wake up in a car-hating one like you see in the west I'd move to the country for this reason alone. Roosh said he's opting for the increasingly smaller cities, I moved out altogether. I believe it's a natural direction for a traditionally minded man who wants to be as independent and self-reliant as he can be. Owning a car is an obvious part of this equation. Multiply this by ten if you enjoy building and modifying them too (you need space for that!).

Depending on where you live, a car is just a sub-optimal way of getting around town.

If you live in a big city like São Paulo, it often takes longer to drive places than it does riding a bicycle, subway or bus.

If you choose to have a car, you're talking way bigger payments, maintenance, fuel, parking, cleaning, insurance and worse - being stuck on traffic. Depending on where you park you have to worry about safety, getting hustled by groups of guys who want you to pay to park on the street, etc.

I'm currently selling my car and just riding my bike. If I go out at night, I usually just walk (#TightLogistics); if it's far, I'll Uber - cheap, fast, no parking.

Some people desired the density of the city for the social and political aspects, while others were poor and had no choice. Cities also offered safety and protection. But those who could afford it had homes and retreats outside the dense cities.
