True story last week one of my neighbors who rents his house and doesn't look at his guest profiles and use basic gut judgment (also a form of discrimination) and just approves every request just got robbed. They took everything of even slight value including laundry soap.

Airbnb doesn't give a fuck about any of the SJW causes, the host or the guests. All they care about is making money. Their customer service towards host has been shit from my experience as a host and the only reason they push the instant book using the guise of discrimination is that their profits will increase through more bookings. I would never turn on instant book just for the very reasons outlined in this thread which are i don't want the dregs of society in my crib

I knew an older couple who refused to rent their properties (6 month traditional lease) to Pakistani students because you could literally guarantee it would be an utter shit-hole by the time they left, and the bond would nowhere near cover the cleaning and repair costs.

This all stemmed from the twitter post a few months back that some Afro-American college kid compiled a list of host that lied about reasons why he couldn't stay there. Not uncommon, but his garnered a lot of attention and now we have this.

I genuinely don't give a shit if someone doesn't want to host me. It's literally the person's property so it's your god given right to do what you want that makes you feel comfortable. Other people in our society don't see it this way and have used the tools of "equality" to rectify this "injustice." No point now in complaining about how terrorist are going to use Airbnb to make America kiss the crusty feet of Mohammed or how Airbnb is going to force you to host gay men orgy parties.

I for one am not surprised, it's a business. If profit margins increase by 1000% hosting only klansman, airbnb would be swastika up yelling kill those monkeys.. If profit margins increase by 2000% hosting only blacklivesmatter, airbnb would have fist in the air, marching in the middle of the highway yelling kills those cops. At the end of the day, they are a company that doesn't give a shit about you, me, SJW, gays, femmies, blacks, whites, disabled whoever.

I don't the mindset of complaining about not getting hosted. It's not rocket science, the first couple of places you rent, make sure to be 100% clean and leave it better than you found it. Then you can slack off after 5+ positive reviews, best luck is with professional firms renting through AirBNB they usually are easy to deal with in getting positive reviews. I've been rejected many times, I just assume it's because people forgot to update their calendar, why would people instantly assume it is something else?

Shit happens. I think this probably has to do with claims that some hosts would totally deny certain people lodging because they're not (whatever colour). I can understand why a company might what to disassociate itself from that sort of stuff.

Eitehr way, there are ways around this and it's probably just lip service.

Under the Civil rights act of 1964 you cannot lawfully discriminate against anyone on the basis of race (or gender, orientation, religion, disability etc). You are mostly right, but, legally speaking, Airbnb does not fall, for technicalities, under the Civil_Rights_Act_of_1964 law.

This is just another one – Airbnb is now pozitively infected with particularly treatment resistant, highly aggressive strains of SJWs. It's a problem that they're based in the US, where all these kinds of bogus anti-discrimination organisations have lots of leverage. Try this shit in Hong Kong and Singapore, and watch the owners laugh at it.

Basically the first side of Airbnb's "diversity problem" is some hosts choose not to have certain guests because they're problematic or costly to deal with. So they're a loss to their business. For example, last time I rented at airbnb, I heard the owner complain that the place was a complete pigsti after a family had lived there for 4 days and not bothered to pick up any garbage, so the place was full of stinky garbage when they left. I asked if they were Indian, and he smiled and said yes.

The same thing happened at the place I rented before that too, in another city. An Indian family had left the place in a complete stinky mess, and the owner said unfortunately that can be a problem dealing with Indians. The board went nuts talking about how racist that was against Indians to say it, but that's just what people experience. Some Indians just won't touch garbage, and let it pile up until they leave instead. And that's costly and incovenient if you're the one who needs to take care of it.

The second side is, as you'd expect among the top 1% computer wizards who work at Airbnb, it's the usual; a few asians, an odd woman here and there, but mainly white guys (Jewish and non-Jewish). So then that makes them discriminatory, because so few women, trans and non-Jewish, non-East Asian minorities work there. And that's a call for affirmative action, since the a*hole sociology and feminsm majors and general fringe leftists who run these organisations see an invisible link between white guys making something and that something being a racist hate machine that keeps non-binaries and people of color down. It's patriarchy at work!
