Get out of here.
If you want to call expired meats, and old bread "better", then sure. After rent expenses, and everything else, Ukrainians aren't left over for food and whatever else. My girl in Kyiv makes roughly $600 USD a month, makes her own food, but I couldn't survive on what she eats.
Absolutely true. Average Ukrainians (who actually make LESS than 200 euros, I know it seems incredible, but it's true), I know some of them, eat
not a lot of food, you would be surprised. I know normal Ukrainian families eating potatoes, and potatoes ravioli, and potatoes, and a bit of sour creme, with water, for days on. I have given them chocolate and peaches, and have received grateful stares from malnourished kids.
You don't believe me? Take a marshrutka out of Odessa, drive 40 minutes, get out, look at how malnourished the kids look. Not Somalia-like, but definitely noticeable. That's the reality beyond Kiev' or Odessa' city centers...
