Thanks all for the advice.

I definitely value my LTR, and whether you value it or not there will always be a level of temptation which I got over pretty damn quickly. She was at it again today... trying to instigate inappropriate conversation. I pretty much just kept quiet and let her do her thing. I will continue to do this till she disappears. I don't think going to HR would be wise, what with this being a new job and me generally feeling like a pussy about having to resort to that kind of thing.

Funny how her husband probably has no idea she's a flirtatious little cock tease in the work place.

Behind the scenes remember to gather evidence and keep a very detailed record of your interactions as well as audio/video recordings if possible.

^ Sage advice from the guys above. I work in a Fortune 100 company in management and have seen quite a few hookups amongst married people. Every one, yes every one, ended very badly. Every time the guy regretted it. Some chicks love toying with men. Some love to create drama. And some want to just fuck up other's lives, period.

And no guy I've seen ever got a severance package when they had to leave the company in disgrace.

Seems like OP has already got it figured out, but to add a little more reason to this:

The best case scenario is you have some sex. This is a situation where the risk likely outweighs the reward.

If she is a co-worker then just be professional with her despite her flirtatious and casual chatter. Make it obvious you intend to to treat your place of business as such and the people there are your colleagues/associates not your friends.

I've lost count of the number of times it's come up on boards and in other discussion groups. It starts with something like this: "There's this girl at work...." The chorus of responses is always the same, too: "Don't shit where you eat." "Don't hit on women at work." The advice holds true:

The OP here took the advice soundly, however there's been other cases in the newbie section where upon hearing this, they lashed out and took personal offense.

You never hear about the ones that don't "end badly" because the key to a successful work hook up is that no one ever finds out about it. Kind of like how there are no successful famous smugglers and why the police think all criminals are stupid because they are the only ones who get caught. The world is full of successful intelligent criminals that will probably never even see the inside of a police car. You can successfully hook up at work, people do it all the time, it just isn't worth the risk. Almost this entire forum wisely counsels against it, as do I.

The only times I've known of a man successfully fishing in the company pond is when the woman outranks them and has more to lose. Its high risk, low reward.
