I think this has more to do with what Foolsgold was getting at. Most people have zero experience with crowds and violence. People in Hong Kong understand crowds, which would mean a different reaction.

Think about it, if you knew that any time there was violence in a crowd that it would make getting away all about exposing your back to the threat, you might have an ingrained reaction to stay and confront. Most Chinese have this.

Where I live, 98% of the people would be able to get away leaving only those who were unlucky enough to be in direct contact with the threat.

Sad story though. I just came back to civilization after over a week out of contact in the Canadian Rockies and I must say 8 days in 2016 have a lot going on!

Even more the father went at the Terrorist because his family was in danger. Would he have done the same to a random stranger? I'm sure instead he would try to escape with his family. It take some guts when you just sit in a almost empty train and out of the sudden some guy smash an ax at you. Its like sucker punch.

My personal awareness rise when I see Arabs or Turks in a group, thats what most people do in Germany anyway. Furthermore beside the sex attacks, this was kind of the first attack on people. When you grow up in an extreme safe environment its kind arrogant to blame people for a not fitting reaction if they never had the need to think about such situation. Like the Cologne attacks, it was the first time that something like this, sexual assaults out of groups, did happen in Germany.

Hell when you see that pepper spray is out of stock, memberships of defence groups rise, people get a small gun permit since months then its arrogant to say Germany are unaware of the situation. The first one that got attacked had be the HK family, nobody know who a German would react. There are reports out there where Germans form vigilant groups but get hunt down by the law. There are also reports out there, where Germans jump in to defend girls but in the worst case you are the one that stand in front of a curt.

But yes we Euroucks, the France, the German we just sit there and want it! The reality is grey not black and white.

Blaming German men for not stopping the wave of refugees into their country is kinda like blaming American men for feminism.

In reality, these changes are forced on us by our politicians, even when they're deeply unpopular.

While a lot of people hold delusional leftist beliefs, it's ultimately the result of a an inescapable indoctrination of leftist values beginning with public school, and continuing throughout our lifetimes through mainstream media exposure.

Trying to turn this into a pissing contest between Americans and Europeans isn't helping anything, and will only divide groups who are being manipulated by the same political elite.
