Melania's speech was superb, there is nothing else to say.

What makes it really notable is the absence of mawkish personal stories and anecdotes. Those would normally be the bread and butter of this kind of speech because they would be deemed necessary to "humanize" the candidate through the wife's testimony. The press were waiting with bated breath for these bullshit anecdotes so they could mock and deride them relentlessly. But the inspired choice made by the speechwriter denied them that opportunity and they are very dismayed now.

The night should have ended with that speech and their exit. Mike Flynn is a terrible speaker and no one wants to keep listening in any case.

Joni Ernst got shafted here a bit, after Melania the interest level was always going to drop. There was some buzz around her since she was mentioned as a possible VP pick, and the fact that she's not as well known nationally. Would have been great to showcase her with Sessions and Rudy in the lead up to Melania. She's killing it, but most people have probably tuned out by now. Flynn killed the mood a bit, even though he's substantive, he's just not very smooth as a speaker.

I'd need to see a side-by-side compare of their speeches, I mean is it copied as far as generalities (talking good shit about her husband, how he'll bring the country together, etc.) or specifics? If specifics, how did it get through without anyone noticing? Really can't take the media seriously nowadays, after all, I'd need to see it for myself.

But yeah, if really plagiarizing, you can't blame Trump for it but they'll use whatever shit they can against him. That'd be unfortunate.

Someone on 4chan speculated that this was intentional. 4D Chess mastery again by Trump. The media which would have normally ignored Melania will now play her speech vs Michael Obama's speech over and over the next few days. The American people will see a real woman, Melania, compared to the man-ish Michael Obama. The people will tune out that it might be plagiarized and instead listen to the message. BAM! I'm not sure if this is 8D Korean space chess from the Trump team, but I also think it's much ado about nothing. The speeches are similar, even contain similar phrases. I don't honestly think anyone anyone was expecting some earth-shattering insights and wisdom from Melania anyways.

The lib media just wants to find the shit lining in everything. There's SO MUCH MORE TO COME from both inside and outside the RNC that this will be nothing by the end of the week.
