RE: Military Coup in Turkey
To understand why the Turkish military has entered the game:

/thread-50338...pid1157565

Much respect by the way, even though he fought my ancestors, to this brave and conservative military man: Kemal Ataturk

RE: Posible coup in Turkey?
Now the questio is....will be a clean coup, or will lead to a bloody civil war?

What a historic year in the world. There has not been this many significant political changes and uprisings in a single year, both peaceful and otherwise, in a very long time.

RE: Military Coup in Turkey
If they can't do the following things in the first 48 hours, the coup is doomed:

1. Take and hold all key government buildings in Ankara.
2. Take and hold all key internet and telecom nodes.
3. Arrest Erdogan and detain him until his trial for crimes against humanity.
4. Secure the loyalty OR non-interference of the key special forces, paratroop, and armor units.

So far, so good.

Also important is to prevent Erdogan's family from leaving the country. If at all possible, his corrupt sons must be arrested before they flee.

Erdogan has left the state in his jet (unconfirmed)

The people behind this coup know they are going to die if this doesn't work out so this could get bloody.

RE: Military Coup in Turkey
Quintus, I'm hearing that Erdogan is safe. If they don't get him, could we see a repeat of Syria and a civil war beginning? The Kurds would only be too happy to assist.

If this scenario plays out, Europe will have no choice but to defend its borders militarily. The flood of "migrants" will make last year look like a trickle.

Quote:In a statement sent by email and reported on Turkish TV channels, the military said all of Turkey's existing foreign relations would be maintained and that the rule of law would remain the priority.

According to the military tonight's action will 'reinstall the constitutional order, democracy, human rights and freedoms, to ensure that the rule of law once again reigns in the country, for the law and order to be reinstated'.

The military statement went on to say that 'all international agreements and commitments will remain. We pledge that good relations with all world countries will continue'.

RE: Military Coup in Turkey
german news say most Turkish people dont know whats happening.. of course because only pro erdogan journalists are left.

if this coup is part of the plan to destabilize turkey europe is fucked.

I hope it's a sign against secret societies and a secular victory for European civilization.

normally information is leaked, not this time and they already hold all officials hostage so theres hope.
this explains the call from erdogan to Putin, a sign of weakness.

problematic can be that most police officers left are pro establishment and/or corrupt, all police officers in Ankara are called for duty.

RE: Military Coup in Turkey
The coup will succeed, I think. The Turkish army, galvanized by their (much-shared in Turkey) love for Ataturk, had years and years to prepare its action. Erdogan is over. Good fuckin riddance!!

Also, no visa-free travel next month for male Turkish citizens to Europe! Banana Life expectancy of our women just gained 5 years...

RE: Military Coup in Turkey
In my opinion, Coups are very red pill. Essentially it is the warrior class saying they have had enough of the bull and are tired of being commanded by idiots. But idk, Turkey has a very powerful military relative to the rest of the region. This wont be the same as Syria, Assad retained the loyalty of much of the military, which kept him in power. The opposite seems to be true here.

Come, my friends, ‘Tis not too late to seek a newer world.

No risk, Erdogan has no friends left now. Except his only childless female buddy, Angela... Let him run in tears to Angela! Banana

Prime Minister Yildirim-

Quote:'Those who are in this illegal act will pay the highest price,' he added, saying it would not be correct to describe the move as a 'coup'.

Yildirim did not provide details, but said Turkey would never allow any 'initiative that would interrupt democracy'.

Thanks for the laugh, Yildirim.

Overthrowing a corrupt government that violates the constitution is democracy.

I should have said, no (powerful) friends abroad, not anymore!

Absolutely, they should have never been allowed to join, it's a joke that they were a part of NATO
