There are some assholes in law enforcement. Everyone knows that.

There are also some good men who make America a better place every day.

There are some corrupt institutions in the USA that don't deserve the protection they receive from the police.

But the funny thing is that every time a thread surfaces here on the topic of "leaving corrupt America," the thread also ends with the somber realization that as disappointing as the US is in some areas, and despite the fact that society doesn't appear to be heading in the right direction, virtually everywhere else sucks just as bad or worse.

Yes, cops in the USA might defend a less than ideal system, but it's still a system that offers more freedom than virtually anywhere else in the world. Like it or not, a society needs law enforcers. We'd be worse off without the police, despite their imperfections.

To universally wish them dead shows your ignorance and childishness. You don't even come close to speaking for all of us.

I have typed a lot and erased most of it. I'm tired and I can't get it to sound the way I want. The words seem to escape me, I've got too many thoughts going through my head to even get this one right.

I'll just leave these two sentences from what I had written and call it a night:

This is disgusting. 5 men died out on duty, defending the public, including people like you. I bet you've never been in any serious danger. When I was 14, some latino gangbanger with latin king tats thought I disrespected him and pulled a knife on me and started chasing me through a mall. I hadn't even been in a fight before and was scared shitless. Guess who came to my rescue and pulled a gun on the fucker...It's easy to hate on police but when shit hits the fan you'd be singing a different tune. Also, you don't know these guys in the least. For all you know a few could have been RVFers that you followed. My uncle is LAPD and one of my best friends is NYPD. Neither fits some police "archetype" or choose the job for political reasons. The way that dude advanced towards the cop in the video then knew to move with haste towards the opposite side of the pillar to shoot him in the back looks like something straight out of a war movie/military training program.

The BLM crowd couldn't organise a piss up at a brewery let alone a military style operation of this scale. They would never knowingly walk into something like that either. There is no doubt these shooters were trained and probably have previous experience in killing people.

Seems BLM is just a tool being used by someone.

I'm still thinking mil-vet Black Panthers or Nation of Islam on this one until something more concrete comes in. For a false flag event shooting cops makes less sense than shooting protesters.

Could we actually be seeing the integration of the Nation of Islam with ISIS?

As mindnumbingly simplistic as it might be, I'm keen to know if these shooters were indeed black and if they had beards.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say this LDS guy is white. Black losers go to jail and blame white people and racist society for their personal failings. You don't see too many depressed blacks and latinos because their losers channel their dissatisfaction into militant anger and join groups like BLM, that's if they don't stick to crime full time.

White losers on the other hand don't have such outlets so they get depressed instead, along with spewing occasional feeble rantings about the police or the Man. This guy fits the pattern.

Some of you guys get soooooo worked up and butt hurt over the Black Lives Matter movement and to me that makes zero sense, I mean this is America a country that has shown time and time again black lives dont mean shit...... BLM is the status quo- misdirected anger. The entire movement began on the back of the "hands up don't shoot" falsehood that never happened.

There are indeed reasons for the black community to feel aggrieved, but those reasons mostly do not include the incidents that cause the most uproar among BLM. In fact it's down right strange they almost always choose to get angry at what usually turn out to be justified shootings and ignore real issues that deserve anger.

Multiple tragedies over the last few days. This country needs a unifier, and it needs it now. I am eagerly awaiting Obama's response. He's done a pretty poor job in the past when it comes to situation such as these, but the ante has just been upped and it's time for him to be the leader of this country, and not just the president.
