Australia.. I would have remained there if they didn't have the audacity to fine you for failing to vote. I refuse to vote centre-left vs extreme-left. To me that's akin to extortion and culpability in treason coerced by the government.

My guess is that yes- house prices are inflated. In Auckland a lot of it has to do with building restrictions and being unable to build high apartments, but regardless there still seems to be an inflated price. People are insisting on buying due to the irrational belief that real estate is some kind of magical investment.

Chinese are buying due to a mixture of groupthink(real estate must be good) and reality(having money in China is bad because the communists would steal it all). Cause of this they're buying non-Chinese things left and right for much more than they're worth. Really you should be trying to rip them off hard.

Again, all of this would be wonderful if there weren't a housing shortage already, deliberately conceived and implemented through ridiculous building laws and zoning restrictions for the purpose of maintaining our ridiculous housing price bubble on behalf of the big banks.

In New Zealand for example there is a shortage of rental properties at any price, because these Chinese investors are buying these properties and leaving them empty. Because they're idiots? No. Because suffering land rates and upkeep without any income is still a better deal than keeping any form of currency these days.

But what's particularly relevant is that we're not allowed to build houses, and we're being priced out of the market (wouldn't it be nice to be a boomer who had access to a market that was pennies on today's dollar) and increasingly we can't even find a place to rent.

So while boomers are cashing in and living the life of luxury the next generations are sold down the river and end up living out of the back of their station wagon.

So yeah, the one-nations and the Katters of this country are going to start getting more attention because gifting a small handful of wealthy people with historically lenient foreign investment laws aimed at further enriching that tiny minority is going to justifiably piss off a lot of Australians.

There's the problem(that I bolded) and so the solution relies on fixing that problem. Everything else is a band-aid.

I still believe even without fixing that problem, since the landowners are "your kind"(even if they're boomers) you'll experience a benefit despite overpaying for housing. There will reach a tipping point where if Chinese don't rent out enough then there will be pressure to move to another city to do business etc in. The Chinese will be left footing the bill of the devalued property. And usually the boomers have kids so they'll pass on the wealth. Or they'll spend it in your businesses.

And Jewish influence has made our girls really unfuckable so I don't think I want to stay here long term anyways.

Hahaha but seriously you don't have to pay it. I've dodged it before and my old man has been dodging it for 40+ years.
You can either just check the 'elect to hear in court' box or write a letter back saying you did vote. Simple. They don't chase it up whatsoever and quite frankly they can't, the only 'evidence' they have is that a line wasn't crossed through your name on any of the hundreds of electoral rolls. $40 or $60 or whatever it is now stays in your pocket.

The option to vote informal is also protected by law so I wouldn't say you're being coerced into voting for parties you don't want to.

But don't get me wrong I too am staunchly opposed to compulsory voting.

What "other city"? The Chinese aren't limited to just buying in Sydney or Melbourne. And "just fixing" that problem of a lack of housing is a rather disingenuous. We're talking about a cartel formed of big banks and both major parties. It would be like saying that America should "just fix its drug problem". No can do.

A housing collapse is inevitable, but I for one would like as little property to be owned by foreign investors as possible when that time comes, even if it means a few less lumps in my gruel along the way.

Here is the thing though re: A housing price collapse. Foreign investors by and large won't sell. The baby boomers will, and they will cash out with a huge retirement fund that they will more than likely spend [With much of it abroad].

For the record: East Asians don't collectively "vote left" in Australia. On the contrary, they have traditionally supported the Liberal Party, due to having the sort of policies coveted by Asians — social conservatism, family values, fiscal conservatism.

But their voter base has gone on to encompass the spectrum of parties in Australia. With the possible exception of One Nation of course. Labor and the Greens have counted on the support of a considerable portion of Asian Australians.

Also East Asians don't succumb to the (leftist) "brainwashing at universities". I've personally known only a handful of Asians toeing the SJW line, and in the bigger scheme of things, most of them don't give a shit. I don't think any of us can name a prominent East Asian "victim of leftist brainwashing". This isn't because East Asians are born followers as opposed to leaders, but because they're far too practically-minded to concern themselves with such rubbish.

On your last point, I think you're giving East Asians too much credit for being extremely malleable to their surroundings. They act in ways that benefit them and are possessed far more individualism than you realise.
