Was just in Barcelona last week. Hit Quimet & Quimet. De facto drinking/smoking outside, amazing city for walking & cycling, good mix of people from all over Europe, architecture kills LA. It's a very livable city, especially if you have a bit of money.

The art scene is very weak, especially compared to a city like LA, which may be the best in the US. This is a big problem in Europe in general. And people are weirder and funnier in LA, that's for sure.. social life is more interesting.

So all in all, would you prefer LA or Barcelona to live in? (if you were balling, no budget, no limit to spend, etc.)

I like the relaxed lifestyle of southern Europe.. and an hour's flight and you're in yet another of 20 different amazing countries/cities, that's a pretty strong tiebreaker.

I'd like to have a home in each spot and spend a few months in each. I'm planning on something in Portugal and something in Cali, but probably the Bay area, not LA. Barcelona/LA would be great, I'm just not into Catalan culture or Iberian Spanish, and I know SF better and am into the vibe and natural surroundings.

My personal plan is apartments in Southern Europe (Lisbon or Porto) and South America (Buenos Aires), and big plots of land with weird country houses/follies in the mountains in the US (Shenandoah valley) and the desert (Coconino county). If money were no concern, I'd get an island instead of the country houses, and flat out buy some bombed-out US city like Baltimore and do the Brewster's Millions game on a massive scale.

4) Any town in Venezuela that has bad ass VZ bitches like the ones I've met in the states

As I travel more I'm sure these cities would change, but this is where I stand as of now.

Doods, if I were rich I'd stay the fuck out of the US, Auz, and western Europe with the possible exception of having a place in NYC for spring/fall. I'd spend most of my time roaming around So. America and Asia, with the occasional break in the Mideast and Africa. IMO you can't even compare girls in the developing world to girls in rich countries.

In Miami you have absolutely no trouble getting around with just English. Most people speak English. The only time you'll have trouble is at a gas station or market here and there, but I'm sure as long as you know very basic spanish you wouldn't have a problem....

For my list, I have a hell of a lot more traveling to do, but based on places I've been....

All places I've already lived or spent a month +. Guess I've been pretty fortunate on places I've lived.

There's hella competition from equally (and even richer) folks in the large cities (or markets as I'd like to call them). After just recently coming back from NYC, I absolutely put it as the #1 city in the world. Not only in terms of women, but everything in general. What an amazing city, truly something special! So much to do, so much to see, so many people, so many restaurants, clubs, bars, venues, scenes, parks, etc. And a lot of beautiful girls with style you can't find in many other cities.
