New king shitlord alert!

A Louisiana state representative proposed an amendment to a bill that would limit strippers to being between the ages of 21-28, and no more than 160 lbs.!

It was submitted as a commentary on the bill they were considering, a bill that would prohibit adult women from stripping until they turn 21 years old. He wanted to point out what he sees as the government over-regulating everything.

And, not surprisingly, women got livid -- even though, as he pointed out, he never once mentioned gender:

His proposal isn't gender-specific and would apply to both male and female strippers，so I don't see what the issue here is...

There are plenty 18-20 year old strippers in the US as well. This law would change that in this state. Apparently they believe it will reduce human trafficking.....

The only downside to this is that it protects women from The Wall.

Of course it's great for the men watching the strippers, they probably don't want to see post-Wall strippers anyway. It protects those post-Wall strippers from the reality that the younger, less jaded and better looking women are getting more attention/money.

It perfectly makes his point. There is no need to regulate such things because the free market takes care of it.

If there was a market for 58-year-old strippers, their would be 58-year-old strippers. As it is, the free market dictates the product being offered -- all with minimal government intervention (prohibits 17-year-old strippers).

Figured 21 to be minimum age as they would be working in a bar. I don't know US laws but I'd be very surprised if anyone working in a bar is below 21 years old.

In most places in the US strip clubs can't sell booze, or they have to keep it separate. Where I am most are byob and they charge per beer.

That said, on the topic of drinking age vs. stripping age - I recall when I was dating a stripper she said how she thought it was pretty fucked up she could go into work and show her pussy to men for money, but could't sit at the bar and buy a beer. Drinking age is too high in America. It's lower everywhere else in the developed world and their alcohol related crime statistics I'm pretty sure are lower. Not saying there is a correlation, but I mean a 21-year-old is really not any more responsible than an 18-year-old. If you're an adult in the eyes of the law it doesn't make a lot of sense that you can't purchase and consume alcohol.

Rhode Island allowed 16-17 year olds to work as strippers for years before legislation was passed to specifically stop it.
