Trolling for Trump and against Hillary on liberal sites (HuffPo, Gawker, etc)
I posit that we can make a difference for Trump on such platforms, especially in ridiculous, over-reaching articles like the one that Andrew Sullivan just penned which opines that Donald Trump is literally a "threat to humanity". Fucking garbage, and even far lefties instinctively know it...
I have been regularly commenting along the lines of this whenever the opportunity avails itself to me:
Quote:Trump is the most liberal GOP nominee in his party's history. He's indicated support for gay marriage, planned parenthood, universal healthcare, and the ending of pointless wars abroad. What, exactly is the problem here? Shouldn't we be reassured that the neocons and conservatives who run the GOP literally abhor him? Should I be more enthusiastic about Hillary Clinton's strong ties to the military industrial complex and her (and Bill's) hawkish neocon outlook on foreign affairs? Is this really something that Democrats and progressives should value?
Perhaps I take a few liberties there, but the goal is to logically point out why progressives are right to question their enthusiasm for Clinton and appeal to the part of them that (perhaps) is skeptical about why the media is so against Trump and so conflates his message in an attempt to "prove" that he's the next Hitler. I think deep down, such arguments ring false to most people, even liberals.
Anybody else have any talkings points or snippets that might be effective? As we move into the general election phase, every vote that Trump earns from people who normally vote Democrat is a 2-1 for killshot to Hillary's candidacy. Especially in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Iowa, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Honestly, I don't think you will change anyone's mind by posting on Huffpost or whatnot. To use your energy better, maybe try talking to more undecided voters than the die hard SJWs. You see how well the SWJ does on this board when they try to make their points.
My initial impression is that many voters, especially independents, will not like either Trump or Hillary much and wait until the last minute to make a decision, and many of them will just stay home and not vote because they are so turned off of both Trump(from all of the negative press he gets) and Hillary(just from how dishonest/corrupt/crooked she is as well as being out of touch and tone deaf.)

The Good news about liberal media outlets is:
BUZZFEED
HUFFPOST
There is already a thread here about how all the digital media "journalist" jobs will be flushed down the toilet. The more Trump wins, the faster this will happen. Trump is to the grievance industry what the fence was to the cowboy industry. The way that trump deals with the media is so masterful and yet so damaging to their business model. Arianna Huffington, Shane Smith, Ezra klein, that dude from buzffeed all despise Trump, its no longer a personal thing, they are fighting for their survival. Trump's policies are like poison for these outlets and medicine for the rest of us.

People are tired of clicking on their shitty articles full of accusations against Trump.
Check out the "Trump endorsed by the KKK" topic on facebook that claims to be trending. Barely anyone is commenting on it because it's not fucking real. Even if it was real, no one would believe it because the media tried to pull that shit already.
You can tell they're running out of ideas and they are panicking.
The "Signal to noise ratio" is at all all time high, so now the noise and disinformation in the media has become too much for brains to handle and people are just tuning out everything. It's been a beautiful thing to observe in real time how the media has forgotten this principle, and made itself obsolete while burning through hundreds of millions of dollars of worthless advertising. Disinformation works 2 ways media geniuses.

RE: Trolling for Trump and against Hillary on liberal sites (HuffPo, Gawker, etc)
Its not that simple, there has been a huge push to go digital from the all the major media conglomerates and tech companies looking to establish their platforms. Comcast, Disney etc have invested hundreds of millions of dollars on Buzzfeed, Vice etc in the hopes to capture part of that millennial market who can only "read" if the articles include gifs and half English titles with cuss words in between. A lot of money was thrown around as everyone tried to perfect their own version of "click-bait." Unfortunately the digital business model is hard to scale and mostly unreliable. The problem is if everyone starts doing it then it is no longer cool or shocking. At this point there is no such thing as a shocking headline. The hufpost this year is imploding with the stupidest headlines ever, they even over-passed buzfeed with their coverage of the Donald. Yet still the views keep going down and they keep slashing their revenue prediction. Their last play is the push to video in the hope of creating their own networks. They are covering their losses, restructuring and investing in videos(much more scalable then clickbait articles) in the hope of delivering the audience to a cable network. Vice was the first to make the transition but as you can see from the "Viceworld" ratings bomb its not exactly a model to follow. These idiots don't realize that morons who are obsessed with those click bait articles and actually believe them DON'T HAVE CABLE, you need to earn a living to purchase cable package and not be some dumbass gender neutral student who who can't remember to keep 35$ in her account so the bank doesn't close it. When their audience finally gets a regular 9-5 job they are no longer lured by "10 question you need to stop asking black girls." Or if its a network, documentaries like "gay life in kenya, episode 1/48." They wanna come home and be entertained and not get educated about Iranian transvestites.
The decline has started, these outlets peeked in 2014 and have been on the decline however Donald trump is accelerating that decline at a rapid pace. Their tragic fate is directly linked with the Rise of the Donald. As he grows stronger they get weaker and more desperate. Once the Donald takes the whitehouse you will start seeing a realignment of the media industry. Widespread "restructuring"(layoffs) mergers(digital media outlets getting bought out by legitimate players) and a swift shift to the right on content/news/entertainment.

RE: Trolling for Trump and against Hillary on liberal sites (HuffPo, Gawker, etc)
Two months ago the Washington Post was averaging about five anti-Trump articles a day. In order to come up with enough material for that many negative articles, they were really reaching far out there, such as an article alleging that Trump was causing thousands, or even millions, of people to have to seek psychiatric assistance for the stress and another about how Trump was supposedly traumatizing children. As you can imagine, the ridicule that that Post received in the comments sections for those articles was through the roof.
The editors for the paper must have noticed, because they're now down to about two negative articles a day and they aren't quite as ridiculous. The Post is also treading on eggshells because one of their reporters got caught lying about the Fields incident.
Anyway, the point is that these liberal media outlets are getting their asses handed to them, and they know it. I would suggest if you happen to click on an anti-Trump article, go ahead and point out one or two of the logical fallacies in the article but otherwise don't spend that much time on it. Americans are smarter than the liberal elite likes to give them credit for and they do notice all the garbage coming from the media about Trump.

You can never persuade people who already firmly made up their mind. So you are extremely likely to achieve the opposite of what you wanted.
If Trump is elected liberal media and SJW's in general will likely decline further. The reason is they don't really believe in the causes they appear to fight for, they just do it since it's trendy or profitable for them. And it will become less trendy, and less profitable.
So if Trump is elected, the era of SJW's may be coming to an end, same as many other social trends which just became irrelevant and disappeared over the years.
That is, unless he'll be a total fiasco when in office, in which case the SJW movement will become more powerful.
I think you can normalize the thought that Bernie to Trump is a logical decision to make and demoralize Hillary supporters at the same time. The poll that I just posted about 44% of Sanders voters in tonight's WV primary shows that Bernie to Trump is a legit phenomenon, ESPECIALLY among working class whites in Rust Belt States (Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan). If Trump wins 2 of those 3 states the election is his.
