Say for example, hair style. Do you go to a professionaly hairstylist? If you believe this then you are not good looking and probably never been friends with a good looking guy. I do agree that some guys, much like girls, tend to completely over estimate their looks. AGE is key here, you really need to have your shit together the older you get. Your looks will no longer overcome your shitty place/car lifestyle. If they do, then you are probably dating down. Your city's culture is also very important, some cities tend to be extremely transactional, others not so much. If you live in such city then possessions and lifestyle often trump looks. On the other hand transactional cities tend to have an abundance of beautiful women. There is places where good looks will get you laid like a rock star, there is other places where there are too many good looking guys. We should also point out the elephant in the room: RACE. Some of the guys that often say looks aren't important because they are good looking or their friend is super good looking and he doesn't do well are not considering race/ethnicity in the equation. Here is how I improved my hair style..

Finally, I found a good, inexpensive barber. USING ALL THE NOTES AND FEEDBACK THAT I GOT FROM ALL THE OTHER HAIR STYLISTS -- I SHOWED HIM AND INSTRUCTED HIM ON HOW TO CUT MY HAIR.

He does a $50 dollar job for $15 dollars.

It's so important to find a good hair stylist that you can work with.

But, that was only half the battle!

I still had to learn how to maintain my new hair style.

I experimented with many different hair products -- gel, moose, paste, wax, pomade, etc.

Most of them were shitty.

Finally, I found a hair styling product that works for me.

IT TOOK ME NEARLY A YEAR TO FIND THE RIGHT HAIR STYLING PRODUCT FOR MY HAIR!!!

Currently, I use 2 different products in my hair, depending on the weather:






And, after doing all this research into hair products, I have started to create my own homemade hair gel -- It's basically a mix of shea butter and bees wax!

I used to get my hair cut once a month, now, I cut it every two weeks. This makes a huge difference in my confidence and appearance!

In between hair cuts, I cut my own hair a little bit. Just a tiny bit on top that is easy for me to trim. It makes a big difference.

I agree to an extent, as I run online game pretty much exclusively, but you also have to keep in mind that the "if 6 was 9" truism of online dating always applies. Depending on location (and I live in about one of the worst locations there is), even a "good-looking guy", who has weak game and attempts to coast in on his looks, will struggle to bang "6es" from online regularly.

I'm in my mid-30s and would probably only consider myself "slightly above average." I'm tall and work out, but who cares there are a million tall and fit guys around here. Compared to some of the messages from good looking guys with corny text game women have showed me (sometimes while lying in bed), I blow them away.

Even I often struggle to pull your "standard hard 6" from online game. Have I banged girls from online that looked like cocktail waitresses though? Yeah, a couple. But most of them were new to the "online dating thing" and hadn't had their egos blown up through years of exposure to thirst.

I'm sure there are a some guys who can do that with attractive young women day in and day out via online dating around here. What percentage are we talking about? IMO if you're getting laid by girls of any quality on the regular from online game, even just monthly, you're already in the top 10%. Remember that OKCupid's own statistics show that the overwhelming majority of women on the site rate the overwhelming majority of men as being "below average." Just about everyone is below average in the looks department, according to the hoes themselves.

What percentage of that top 10% that actually gets laid is making dates with actresses daily on Tinder? It obviously happens, I'm sure some guys from here are doing it. Hell, there's probably some guy in this area who has banged every girl on the site. But my guess it's a statistically insignificant percentage. Roosh couldn't do it. I certainly couldn't do it.

I've had conversations like the example you give that lead to a bang with hot girls, but I have to grind for them. The key to success for everyone else is simply knowing when you have a weak lead and when you don't.

Boston is a city with an abundance of very "good on paper" guys, and overall dumpy women (compared to LA, NYC, Miami, or Poland, at least...there are also some real gems here.) In that regard it's very similar to Washington D.C. or Toronto.

The silver lining is that it's not very transactional. Average looks and some game will get you pretty far, at least online. I mean I could be homeless for all some of the girls I've hooked up with know.

Good looks and weak game and you'll probably do well too, regardless of income - but probably not like a rock star. I've seen too many guys around who are much better looking than I and seem to be stuck with attractive yet fucked-up girlfriends that they're afraid to leave for that to be the case. Average looks, weak game, and any income under "big baller" probably won't get you very far at all. Ask any of the programmer anime fans around here for data points on that one, if you need it.

Game is a shocker to most women around here, serious nuclear weaponry. A guy who doesn't chase after them, is willing to next them, and even ejects out on them preemptively on dates blows their minds.

There are probably a few guys in this area who look like male models and have outstanding game. So far, I've never met one. Oh right, because they're all probably smart enough to head online. They realized the same thing women did - for them, meeting people in the real world is too much effort for too little reward.

Guys stuck at bars and nightclubs don't even know what you're talking about when you mention online dating. "Oh I never do that it's no good."

Expensive haircut makes a big difference, unless you get your hair done really short then it doesn't matter obviously.

I'm usually pretty cheap and only pay $15-20 including tip for a haircut, but one time had a free haircut by some chick and she spent probably 45 minutes, which is a lot considering it was relatively short and I had multiple girls comment on my "nice haircut"

I can't justify spending $40+ on a cut right now but in the future when I have more $$$/care more I will.

Men also have a really different view of what is attractive when judging other men, compared to what most women find attractive. Men see a bad ass, cool looking guy with a strong jawline who looks like he could be in an action movie, and even though his facial features are average looking think he's a 9 or a 10. Meanwhile, a softer looking pretty boy face which men think looks feminine will probably out-pull that guy with the same level of game. Women put more emphasis on eyes, nose, eyebrows, lips, hair etc than men do when judging their competition.

I believe that Steve keeps his teeth like this on purpose so he can play villains of the worst kind. And, I must say, I kind of like that. Thinking of what I had done (or rather, had not done), now makes my face turn red.

When you are good looking are you even running game anymore? I suspect for glgs it is like average joes 'gaming' 2s and 3s. It is like shooting fish in a barrel.

I'm not a bad looking guy, but I'm not a David Gandy either… My cousin, and main wing man co-incidently would probably rank at that level though and yeah… It's like shooting fish in a barrel BUT…

If I look at it objectively, he is just about the apex of looks and yet he is still only shooting fish in a barrel with 7's… He does get blown out quite often with 8's and above [He also has very solid natural game]. That is in Sydney though…

In Europe, he might get blown out 1/100 approaches.
