This thread is crazy. There is no real 'disadvantage' in looking good. It will probably make you lazier if anything since you don't need much game to land a reptile.

I'm with Moma on this one. I have a cousin like this. All he has to do is show up and girls game him. They ask to take pics for their facebook in a group next to him etc..etc. His game is to sit down and wait for some girl to walk over and ask if he wants to meet her friend or come sit near them. Yeah, remember from your Psych 101 class that 90% of professors think they're above average at teaching, just like 90% of drivers think they're above average at driving.

There's everyday, classic "good looking", and then there's male-equivalent Victoria's Secret-esque international model type good looking.

Man, this thread has been great reading. So much of it resonates with me, and I realize that much of my dry spell here in Oki can be attributed to MASSIVE overgaming. An alpha co-worker of mine keeps saying "Just sit at Starbucks Sir, and order a latte. You don't need to speak Japanese. The girls will come to you." but I'm just too buried inside my own head to realize that would work.

-My Inner Game is pretty bad, largely because I DESPISE what I do and how my days pan out schedule-wise, so I try to compensate with even more Outer Game.

This all combines for a perfect storm of overgaming and essentially cock-blocking myself. I always wondered how I managed to get laid in my beta days. Most of my lays were just me being highly visible and drinking/dancing/having a nice time. Well I think it's harder for good looking people to make male friends, than their less handsome counterparts.

Also if for example you and a less handsome friend are with two girls, it's usual he will get jealous if you are getting too much attention and try and undermine you efforts. I have observed this the past month, and always had inclinations.

I use to be a complete beta male and entertained thoughts that were so dangerous, years ago. I made the conscious decision to improve myself, and have learned to project confidence and generate that indifferent, asshole vibe. However, I have only realized now that girls have been throwing themselves at me, and my habits, for whatever reason, incline me to not pursue them and just 'chill'.

The meta-cognition that has been going on the past 2-3 years has evolved, but the result is still the same: I experience apathy, or don't overcome it. I think I definitely have internal blocks that I place too high a premium on and generally think too much. When I'm high, which rarely is the case, I get soooooooooo paranoid and self-conscious. This is the same for when I'm about to go out at night.

I don't know what to do, I could probably just try being friendly at this point, because I forget how much I've changed externally (and internally), that it's taking some time for me to catch up and realize so.

What do?

Its not a disadvantage, so much as its a different approach. The issue arises when the model guy ACTS like an average guy, throws people off because women are going to make assumptions about his character before he ever speaks.

Imagine you're dealing with two guys, one is wearing a suit, one is wearing a trashbag like a poncho, if they both walked up and said "hi, how are you" and stuck out there hand for a handshake, would you treat them both the same?

I agree its nothing to be complained about, but it is a valid point that dealing with women is a different ball game depending on a lot of factors, looks only being one of them.

Damn this is one hell of a thread.

I have been told by a few girls that I am gorgeous. I've been told by a few girls that I look like an Abercrombie model and I should be in Hollywood. A few girls have said that I'm "so fucking hot". Other girls have said "God you're so fucking cute". And then other girls have not thought or said any of these things and probably didn't think I was attractive. I would rate myself as a 7.5 or 8, and I just don't see how some of these girls think I'm as attractive as they do, but I guess it boils down to different preferences. It could be my look as well, as I have a baby face, and I feel like girls either think I'm super hot or average.

I just discovered this blog about a month ago so almost every time I've gotten laid, it's been because a girl approached me, I found out she liked me through a friend, ect. I was little bitch with girls in high school; I was a fairly popular athlete and I kind of knew that girls liked me but I was too much of a pussy to do anything about it, so I didn't get laid until I was 19 and in college.

If you're using terms like "meta-cognition" in relation to your emotional/sex life, I think this is a sign of excessive intellectualization, you probably have avoidant features and have to deal with shyness. The thing, is, it can depend how photogenic you are and what angles you use. I seen girls on dating sites where in one pick I think WOW she is like an 8.5 then you see the other 5 pics and it goes to below 5.

the silicon valley bachelor guy is not particularly good looking, not even for an asian. Not ugly, but slightly above average nerdy asian looking. There is no disadvantage ....while you're in your prime.

But,if you haven't achieved anything with your life or landed your special chick by the time your looks start to fade then you might be at a disadvantage ,if you haven't had to develop a personality up till then.

It's a bit like the woman who always turns heads whenever she walks in a room.
