Right now, we have the CheckUser extension installed, just in case we run into issues where we have to ban someone and identify whether a new user with suspiciously similar behavior is them returning under another name (and possibly block their IP range). I think I read a message on here implying that this forum does something similar at times.

Roosh and I are the only ones with access to view those IPs at the moment, and I wouldn't be adding anyone to that group of checkusers without his giving the go-ahead. There are some wikis, like RationalWiki, that don't use CheckUser, and getting rid of it is certainly an option if we don't mind giving up the ability to use CheckUser as an investigatory tool for enforcing bans, fighting vandalism and spam, etc.

We could also eliminate the ability for non-logged-in users to edit the wiki, if we want to prevent the possibility that someone could accidentally make an edit without logging in first, and inadvertently reveal their IP address.

Problem with "knights" is the connotation to "white knights". Maybe lords or nobles instead.

Yeah, although manosphere writers are also sometimes called "shitlords". There's hardly any name or word out there that doesn't have some sort of derogatory use.

Cautionary tale:

AVfM started up a "Register Her" wiki, listing all of the known female rapists, abusers, false accusers, et cetera, the goal being to create a rhetorical device to undermine the "only men are abusers" narrative put forward by feminists. It started out great until they added the category "bigots" and started including any female celebrity who said anything 'misandric', even if it was in jest.

If there are going to be articles about major feminist figures, they need to be sober and restrained, rather than used as an opportunity to publicly smear someone.

There are several RoK articles which have - quite righteously - exposed the lies and hypocrisies of certain SJWs; while it was effective for RoK, creating a wikia of every minor feminist figure that's done something foul would undermine the overall effectiveness of the wiki as a whole.

By the way, on the topic of user categories: what about dark knights (sysops), dark lords (bureaucrats) and dark king (wiki owner)? It seems appropriate, since dark knights would be opposing white knights who come to the wiki to vandalize and disrupt.

There's also a user category, "autoconfirmed," that newbies become a member of 24 hours after they make their first edit. They are then allowed to move pages. This is to make it harder for the same person to create a bunch of accounts and use them for page move vandalism, which can create a pretty big mess that's annoying to try to revert.

The other annoying form of vandalism I've encountered is where vandals will use the "reupload" feature to replace the current version of every image on the wiki with a new version, which is usually the goatse image. Undoing this can be a pain due to image caching issues. So I've restricted that feature to autoconfirmed users as well.

Users who aren't autoconfirmed yet are called "newbies". Anyway, what's a name for autoconfirmed users, and for newbies, that would fit in with the overall theme of the site? Maybe newbies could be "peasants" and autoconfirmed users would be "smiths" or something. They're wordsmiths.

Kings Wiki Commons is a central wiki hosting images, videos, and other media for use on the English Kings Wiki, Cebuano Kings Wiki (to be established later), Russian Kings Wiki (to be established later), Spanish Kings Wiki (to be established later), etc. This way, we don't have to upload media separately to each wiki; we can just have the wikis use this central repository.

We should come up with some logo ideas for the Commons. The logo for the English Kings Wiki has a shield: (image)

Currently, we're just using a placeholder image (of some random ho) but we should come up with an idea for a better logo that fits in with the Kings Wiki theme and has a "Kings Wiki Commons" caption. It'll need to look good when shrunk down to 135x135 pixels. Also, we'll need to come up with a 32x32 favicon, probably based on the logo.

How different (apart from the caption) do you believe the Commons logo should be from the Kings Wiki one? Because we could definitely reuse the current shield (maybe less detailed) for the favicon. It's classic, straight to the point and can easily be read even at 32x32 or 16x16.

It just needs to be different enough that at a glance you can tell which wiki you're on. Or, in the case of a favicon, different enough that at a glance you can tell which tab is open to the English Kings Wiki and which is open to the Kings Wiki Commons.

The knowledge cornucopia might be good enough for now (although it should have a "Kings Wiki Commons" caption; fortunately, that's a landscape-orientation image that leaves room at the bottom for a caption). It's better than the placeholder.
