Most likely not a service dog like many would think. Practically any woman can go to her doctor and get authorization to make their current dog an ESA (Emotional Support Animal). No special training required. Then they just carry a small ID for the dog and they go wherever the owner goes. It also gets them out of paying pet rent and deposits wherever they live or travel.

While ESAs have more restrictions on their access, most business/locations allow them due to the legal implications if not 100% sure how it would be judged in court.

Threads like this make me think I do not belong on this forum anymore.

Imagine you're in a room with family members of this woman present. Would you make these comments? If not, then you are a coward for doing so behind the safety of the internet - you're no better than the little jackasses spewing their vitriol on YouTube.

What would you do if you heard someone else make these comments in earshot of family members and you were present? If I was there, I'd very likely reach out and methodically slam such a class act on his face. And most old school men, those ones you claim to emulate, would do the same.

And maybe you wouldn't, but what if the woman was someone you knew or the people in earshot were? Would that change your standards for empathy and mutual respect?

Well, guess what, this is not a conversation in your living room with your buddy and a 6-pack of microbrews. For all intents and purposes, we are all "in the same room" these days.

People have done it for all kinds of stupid reasons. And you don't have to agree with someone and their life choices to feel a bit of sympathy for them.

I always see guys on this forum talking about Stoic philosophy, great men like Marcus Aurelius and Seneca. The Stoics weren't just about being emotionally resilient - they also believed in being good people, in seeing us all in this together, in seeing your fellow man as a brother or sister, and in trying to understand and appreciate people even if you didn't fully respect them and their lives. Most of all, of not letting others get to you emotionally or take away your own ability to carry yourself with dignity and grace (no matter what those persons did to wrong or offend you).

Once a man came and attacked me in a bar with the members of a truly dangerous criminal organization. Over something that had zero to do with me - I got a blowjob from a woman and then got caught in the crossfire of their gang shit over misunderstood text messages I'd sent her.

This stranger then had a hit put on my life, and when I tracked down his number and called him on the phone, he refused to back down because he already had the ball rolling. I could sense he knew he was in the wrong, but admitting so would have made him look like a fool in front of his gangster buddies.

I remember sitting in a hotel room, my eye swollen shut, pointing the pistol in the mirror and screaming my head off like a lunatic, ready to murder someone. I'd already figured out where he lived and had a plan to meet him with a face full of lead when he walked out of his house in the morning.

In the end, I put down that gun. Because of this incident, I lost everything I owned. My reputation on the streets where I grew up was largely tarnished. I turned my back on my childhood home and left, unsure if I'd see my family again, as interested in preserving their safety as I was interested in not getting caught up in this drama or losing my life over something that didn't seem quite worth it.

You know what, years later, this man took a bullet and died.

Did I jump around with glee or gloat about it and cackle "see what happens?" Fuck no. Did I go online and post anonymous comments talking shit about him on news stories about the incident (like I saw a lot of other people doing)? Fuck no.

I walked down to my favorite beach bar, sat down and ordered a beer for him. Shook my head and said, that's a tragedy. Considered myself lucky that I was sitting there in Thailand, living a dream life, while the life he tried to drag me into devoured him. I even said a sincere prayer on his behalf.

Did he bring his fate on himself? Was he a victim of his own lifestyle? Of course. But all I saw was a tragic loss of a young man who lost his way - under different circumstances, it could have just as easily been me. And in fact, as so often happens, it turns out he was truly one of the best things to ever happen to me: "The obstacle is the way."

Consider Marcus Aurelius' patience when a man plotted his murder and tried to overthrow his empire. You don't need to be a pushover, whether someone is trying to kill you or not, but you can at least behave yourself in a dignified, unemotional manner.

So many of you study what it means to be a man, but you remove the quest of ethics from your journey. Like a bunch of autistics who want to be social wizards but cannot switch on that part of your brain that empathizes with others.

The world doesn't need caricatures of men who do surface-level manly things and then keyboard warrior against dead women in the safety of their apartments at night. It needs good men - who want not just to be manly but want to be manly and virtuous - and to have the courage to set the proper example even for their "enemies." Self-restrained. Disciplined. Emotionally stable. And yes, even emphatic.

A real man is a leader, but the leader is certainly not just the one with the loudest cackle. You want people to follow you? Stop emulating the catty Jezebellian women you say you despise. Stop behaving like its our role to troll the internet until people listen to what we have to say. And start being an example worth following.

If you truly believe the world has walked astray, and especially if you truly believe men are as much at fault as women (if not moreso), then every victim of the current state of things is a needless victim - not just the ones with a dick between their legs.

Structural dysfunction in lifestyles is treated with fucked up medications that only address the symptoms rather than the root of depression. There has to be more to her story than the reason given, perhaps she had a fight that morning with the ex boyfriend or something else that put her over the edge. I can't really find anything funny here, and I don't really buy the reason of not finding a boyfriend so she kills herself.

I had another post in mind but after reading the thread, I've realized this is someone who I never met in my life who killed herself - I would feel like a dick trying trying to psychoanalyze her life and what might have lead to her decision. It obviously sucks, and I think it could be a product of women not belonging in the work place (they're happier in traditional nurturing roles as housewives) but again, I never knew this woman so I can't say for sure. Understanding dog psychology can be a serious in-road to getting laid. Dominating a woman's dog is the same as dominating her.

In regards to the woman that hung herself, there's always the possibility it was a cry for help/attention. The ex says, "I'm going out for some smokes. Back in five." The woman gets up on the chair thinking he'll be back any second. Meanwhile he gets a phone call or his car breaks down or whatever. She slips. Three days later the friend turns up.

I've known a few ambos and many of the hangings they attended were multiple attempt regulars who used attempted suicide to get attention and/or emotionally manipulate people, and unfortunately for them, sometimes they accidentally got it right.

Thing is, nobody is going to tell the media the full story out of respect for the dead and their own guilt at having failed to act earlier when they knew there was a problem.

It's always "oh they were a bit depressed but they had their whole life ahead of them." I've heard that shit said to the media about a suicidee who had been suicidal for over a decade since being abused by her father. You think the sick fuck is going to front the media with the real deal? So it always rubber bands back to "oh they were a bit depressed but they had their whole life ahead of them."

Normal its uncommon for a women to commit suicide on a hard way. Women prefer to take pills, men hang themselves. Also suicide rate of women is much lower then those of men. So there are maybe other reasons behind this.
Even more, normal the media don't report about suicide at all, only in very special cases. What makes this case so special? She is not a celebrity or a public person at all, nor is her death kind of outstanding. I guess there is more behind this story then we know.
