The problem with your scenario is we / I am not guaranteed to be alive come 30.

Also with me my play time is NOW, as I want a family and kids when I get around 33-35. And can not continue on with the lifestyle I enjoy now. Im 25 now btw.

How does one make enough money to retire at 30? Serious question. Im sure it can be done but that seems pretty far fetched for most people. How much money do you think one needs to save to retire?

What jobs do you suggest I get in south florida? This isnt the best job market mind you. Also I need a job ASAP.

Oh i get it. If you dont have a long term plan with this lifestyle then you may be making the right choice. However, although you may not planning to live this lifestyle for too long, you want to make sure you making money for you and your family, if you dont create anything now, in the future, you will have a harder time. The probability of you dying before you are 30 is extremely low, committing entirely to your now and forget your long term goals is not a very wise decision.

How does one makes money to retire at 30? Well as the other user said 2000 dollars a month should pretty doable for you before you are 30 and it should allow you to live anywhere you want but you have to invest it wisely now. You could go to Canada now and work in Alberta sweeping snow and making more than 70k per year..you get to stay in the camp so you will have zero expenses. Work there 3 years, you will at the very least have 150k, from there you can create a business that would generate you 2000 dollars a month at the very least. This is just a general idea and a better way to make money. Working in a restaurant in Florida wont give you anything in long term.

Pitt you've got a good idea, that's exactly what I'm aiming at, working hard for the next 5 years and then opening a business. It's totally doable here in MIA too. If you find the right waiter job in Miami, you could make 75k a year here too. Those jobs are few and far between, but definitely out there. Bartender jobs though, I'm sure you can break 75k a year in all sorts of places. I know the bartenders at my job make at least 75k a year, but probably more in the 100k range.

Dash, when I was talking about grimy spots I'm not talking anything too bad, like everyone in the places is strapped. It's just more like real basic, people aren't spending tons of bread, and maybe in an older building.. I've been to pretty much everything in between out here though. I've been to hood ass spots in ft. laudy where I was the only white boy (98% afro american), and I've been to private events at the Delano and Intercontinental. I find at the real nice places, it's much harder to pull ass and the quality really isn't much higher than any of the more working class spots. The girls just wear more make up and act more snobby. It really makes it hard to pull ass unless you got bread at the rich spots. Especially when massive amounts of dudes are offering the girls free drinks and a seat at their table.

And Pilgrim, I def. agree SoFlo beats SoCal ass any day cause I LOVE latinas. But thinking about it, I look back at the times I would go Cali and couldn't believe how much fine ass I saw, and that was coming from Vegas! That's when I was really only into white girls, before I discovered them exotic latinas. But if white girls are your thing, you'll find much better quality in SoCal than SoFlo. Not to mention non latino caucasions only making up 12% of the population in MIA. Them white broads in Cali are bad!

Girls in SoFlo definitely aren't EASY. Really one of the hardest spots I've been to, I'm not gonna lie. They aren't the warm latinas like you'll find in Brazil or DR, they're just like American girls or worst. Even many of them from foreign countries turn into mega bitches when they see how the American girls act. Thing is here you gotta find your niche, everyone says it. It's all about meeting the right people. I was just talking to a girl about it today, she said, "If you don't like Miami, it's because you haven't met the right people." It can be hard to get at girls in the classier spots if you don't have money or hang out in crowds of people with money and put on that front as well. There's a lot of competition out here, but also looots of beauties. I'm not saying that it's a bad place to game, I'm just saying it's not easy. But you get lots of bang for your buck.

Regarding bartending, you can EASILY make $100k a year in MIA. Shit, in Vegas I'm sure there are bartenders at some spots that pull close to a million a year. I saw a receipt from a guy staying at our hotel, he had just come from Vegas with his friends for a bachelor party. Buddys tab at Tryst was $180k, the gratuity alone was over $23k! That's ONE table! Dude probably had a bunch of others that night as well.

I think Florida is quiet big and i am particularly talking about the part where el mechanico is from which is (flauredele or some shit like that, forgot the name), even when Ali went there he said that the girls there were really friendly, so i dont know what im missing here.

I wouldnt say London is the easiest place to game but if in florida he got it that easy comparing to London, then this place must be really really easy. Went to a place I REALLY liked last night.

Round Up in Ft. Lauderdale

Its a country bar that also plays top 40. Good ratio, little competition, TONS of friendly slutty 7's and some 8's & 9's sprinkled in.

I talked to a group of latin girls for half the night. Got this chicks number from the DR.

The drive is annoying though. Takes about 25 minutes from Boca.

I got that job with 0 connections other than hard ass work. Walking 50 blocks on my day off week after week. Right now's the time to do go looking. If you have waiter experience it shouldn't be too hard if you put in a little effort. I've gotten calls from all sorts of places since I've had the job. I still get calls 8 months after I filled out the applications, no joke. I've had the gansevort, Mondrian, and Ritz Carlton all call me up trying to hire me months later.

Only problem I encoutered when I was in Ft. Laudy was it was mostly white girls, may have just been the spot I was at though.

Read up on what everyone else has said about SoFlo. I've read lots of guys saying it's tough. Not to mention a ton of guys i meet here talk about how easy it is once you get out of SoFlo. I've been lots of places and so far SoFlo has been one of the toughest hands down. Even with the tourists, the problem is you meet a girl, make plans, within an hour or two after you make the plans, she meets 10 dudes that all ask her out, and maybe some have a bottle or promotes at the club. You get lots of flaking. And about the 70k a year as a waiter, it would probably tough to get a waiter job like that. If you have an average waiter job, you'd probably be making no more than 40. Being a bartender that figure is much more realistic.

Yes ,Im British .
I was there in 2001/2 so a while back.
But it was definitely easier to score compared to London.
London has tons of nice girls,but it's a completely different vibe...everyone heading somewhere,poor weather,not a holiday vibe.
S. Florida is so more relaxed and with the weather people in general were more open...and girls/women were open ..well that's what I found.


A lot can change in 10 years...I was in Miami Beach about 3 years back for a week ,and the old venues I went to were quieter.

Definitely don't like that gansta/thug pants to your knees thing that has become so prevalent at times around Miami Beach....the city really fucked itself trying to attract those type of promotions/events...a lot of people just go elsewhere.

I generally have a blast each time I go to Florida (every year for xmas the past 4 yrs), I was in Fort Lauderdale for NYE in 08' and that was awesome, they shut down the main drag where all the bars are and it was packed!

They were serving drinks in the street and there was no cover at any of the bars/pubs/clubs and the drinks were cheap, meeting people was easy as everyone was in party mode and really friendly, I definitely recommend it! The party scene was a lot different than South Beach, the women were smoking hot there but more difficult and the clubs were a bit too posh for me, but to each his own.

I spend most of my time in Florida in the Tampa area, I find that city to be tamer than the cities to the south, but the Ybor city and Channel Side bars/clubs are decent on the weekends and the people there are very nice, women very approachable.

Have fun in Fla, I'll be there in a few weeks!

$200,000 yielding a 5% return with $24,000 in yearly distribution and you will have zero dollars in less than 11 years.

$300,000 will last about 30 years.

These calculation are not taking into account inflation/the rise in the cost of living or taxes.

Not too mention that stocks have returend about 0% for the last 10 years and bonds currently return less than 5% with inflation running at 3.5% (governemnt numbers) in reality it's 10% (taking out modifications in the 80's and 90's used to lower the CPI).

like I said...good luck.

I agree work hard, focus, save, but don't expect to retire at 30.
