No but I have been most of my life in a situation where only thing that separated me and a homeless man was one payday. But luckily those paydays always came and now I am not in that situation anymore and never wish to be either.

Not in the no money sense, but when I can, I choose to split living in hotels, with family, in work camps or with a girlfriend.

Right now renting a room in a town of 25000. Once monied up, on the road again.

I've never been homeless, but one night when I was traveling I had no place to stay and was forced to sleep outside basically on the sidewalk in front of a church. Not a fun experience, I slept on top of my bag in case I feel asleep so no one could steal my stuff without me knowing.

Time never moved slower, that night felt like 3 days...... I should have gotten drunk

Never homeless, but when I was 18 and graduated from High School my Step-Father told me it was time to leave and make it on my own. He gave me a few hundred bucks to get started and later on when I decided to enroll in the local college he gave me some money for books and food each semester. I took out loans for the tuition/housing. He's a good man and raised me since I was about 4 yrs old, but he believed in hard work and self-reliance. Leaving home was hard to take, but I'll always be grateful for his stance because I saw other friends of mine with soft parents that they used as a crutch and subsequently went nowhere with their lives.

So when I was 19 and living on my own I ran out of money. I was too proud to go back to him so I didn't eat for a few days until my next paycheck. I told him about the ordeal later on in hopes he would be proud of me. That Christmas I received from him a substantial gift certificate to the local grocery store chain.

Another time when I was in college I split up with the girlfriend I was living with. Fortunately I was in a fraternity so I slept in one of our house's living room for the rest of the semester. Again, I was too proud to ask my parents for help.

Later on there were some times when I really needed money so I asked to borrow from my Step-Father, which he did and I always paid him back and on time. I did that several times and it felt good paying him back.

Now I'm in a pretty good place financially, but boy when I was in my teens and 20's I really flew by the seat of my pants financially. I'm much more responsible now than my younger years.

Living and working in major cities I've been surrounded by a lot of homeless people. Some choose that kind of life, others truly fell on hard times. When I see them on the streets, I try to remember that if I'm not careful that could be me on the streets because at anytime, anything can happen.

I have been a vagrant for five years,both in the USA and Europe.

Yes,got laid.Verily so.Homelessness is no counter to game,for a good player it may even enhance it.

As to what led to it,its kind of a long hard to believe story,but I was depressed at the loss of my previous dog,and tired of the rat race.

I've never been homeless but a friend of mine has a thrift shop which sells antique things, discarded things in pretty good condition and vintage electronics. He usually buys that merchandise from people who are homeless, very poor or drug addicts. That people usually do whatever it takes to get some money to finance their addictions (extremely low quality cocaine, pot, etc.) or to buy something to eat (this applies to poor people or people who work as recyclers).

Talking about drug addicts, it’s so dehumanizing to see they only care about their drug addictions. 1 month ago I saw a homeless girl with striking green eyes. She seemed to be from a good family, but her addiction led her to the hell of the streets and eventually homelessness.

I’m extremely grateful to have a strict family and school guidance with regard to drugs and their destructive consequences.

Drug addiction, mental illness and homelessness often go hand in hand. If they got the mental illness aspect properly dealt with the other two would solve themselves.

Depends if you mean legit homeless as in out on the streets, or out in a foreign country with no place to stay.

I spent a month with no place to stay in Japan, I ended up crashing at this bartender girls place who was from Taiwan.

Your right about time moving slow.

I've never been homeless, but when I was hitch-hiking through south-eastern Europe I got stuck just across the border into Albania around midnight and ended up sleeping in some scrub-land between two communist-era buildings with stray dogs running around.. I kept waking up to broken glass and barking, that was a long ass night.

Americans are going to have to get used to multi-generational housing arrangements like in poor countries. Spending your whole paycheck on rent is just stupid.

Many are still stuck in the mindset like it's the 50s-90s where a young person leaves home, works hard, and 'makes it' gradually building themselves. It's an arrogant point of view, especially now. Parents forcing their kids out only encourages them to take on all that debt on useless endeavors. The negative attitudes towards young people living with their parents is causing debt and no savings accumulation.

Perhaps it's a lesson why 'family' is so important. Leaning on eachother is not shameful. But encouraging every person to take out shitloads of debt so they don't have to live at home is very damaging. Even people with degrees are now unable to support themselves.

America has many "came to this town with only the clothes on my back and $20 in my pocket" because there was a time in America where you could in the very same day get a clean room and a paying job.


Not really homeless, as ive always have had a friend I could stay with or family that would let me stay for long periods. But I have been broke with $0 to my name a couple of times.

I grew up in argentina during the late 80's and the 90's,so we witnessed the meteoric rise and fall of our economy.

In the USA and Europe I have slept in many streets under many bridges,squats,caves,forests,ridges and other unsavory locations.

I would say that it IS a problem in the first world,just one that society as a whole would rather sweep under the carpet until it explodes in their faces,which is kind of happening right now.

I'm homeless rite now!

I live in a really expensive city in CA, to rent a room in a house is going to cost you 1000 a month, your own place is going to run 1600+ for some thing below basic.

That's 12000+ a year your giving to some one else, making some one else rich! with zero return.

Fuck that. I'm not gunna make some one else rich.

when you consider what it is you do at home..... Sleep, computer/phone you see that your paying 30-50 dollars a day to do essentially nothing. (With the exception of cooking)

I choose to be homeless on purpose, I have enough saved up to put a down payment on a home in a below average community, however I want to own in a good community, so by making a little lifestyle sacrifice to come closer to that option, I feel it will pay off.

Being homeless for me has been a huge improvement in my life!

I wake up super early, enjoying the quiet morning, figuring out what I'm going to do that day.

I get to work early(I have no distractions)
Focus on my work
Make sure I leave work with zero loose ends, no rush to get home.

I focus my efforts in the gym and relax in the sauna, where I meet people and generally have good conversation.

Read read read

Enjoy the beach and the mountains, do what ever the fuck I want.

Game as much / more than ever in this alternative lifestyle

Save 1000-2000 a month

Full disclosure;
I've considered this life style for a while, I made sure to purchase a reliable Vechile I could sleep in and show up to work with out looking.... Homeless. Having a good job is essential, I have a good well paying job and I look forward to excelling everyday, living in your car can have an emotional toll, by having real goals and a means of achieving them makes this endevor easier to swallow. Additional expencises can add up like eating out and going to the gym, (which in would do any way) how ever my biggest additional expense is breakfast and coffee. I still pull foreign exchange students, get an introduction to women of diversity, experience there cooking and sub par linens.

Now that I think of it, I've been homeless also. I was living in a car for couple of weeks in North Australia. Was showering in the airport every day after work, making food in public camp sites or camping kitchen. Living in car was illegal there so I needed to find some good parking spot each evening where nobody could find me. But in since the rent prices were skyhigh in Karratha that time there were many people living like that.

Some names in the PUA world have been homeless for short periods of time. Namely Jeffy RSD, Willie Beck.

There was another London guy who spent all his money on PUA seminars and eventually simply didn't have money to eat. He became homeless and was leeching off girls. There was a documentary about him on a British channel, I can't remember the name though.

Can you please detail how you chose this as your life? There's a number of questions that I'm sure have interesting answers, such as:

How did you come to this conclusion?
What did you decide to keep?
Do you have a storage or other place where you keep things or is everything in your car?
I imagine you can get a pretty expensive gym membership that basically allows you to have high end shower/sauna facilities, can you tell us if this has been a neutral or net positive?
How do you handle getting internet, do you have a high-data cell phone plan with tethering? Avoid internet most of the time?

I find this topic fascinating.

I was for about 8 months a long time ago.

Luckily I had a car I lived in. I hear sleeping outside in parks & in the shelters is really dangerous. I would normally just park my car at a Wal-Mart and crash. I'd shower and clean up at the gym and use the laundromat. It wasn't fun but at the same time wasn't absolutely horrible, most people had no idea I was homeless because I kept up my appearance. That was always a good thing because the police like to just randomly harass homeless folks

I did 3 different shelters in NYC(First one in manhattan and we were rotated to one in brooklyn and then one on the Bronx becauseof the Sany hurricane scare).
They ARE depressing I wouldnt say they're dangerous.The danger part i think is more of a fairy tale people weave because
A) they have no bloody idea
B) some obscure agenda they unsconsciously serve
C)Status loss association

Come to think of it,an old friend of my late brother who IS a social worker in NYC (obviously has a vagina too) did tell me it was hell;and when I got there I realized that despite supposed years of working with street people she had never been in one bleeding shelter.

Point is the personnel in the living and kitchen areas are usually lowest common denominator types and they have to desensitivize themselves to the situation where thy are treating other human beings as animals,if only to retain what they think is their sanity.
The "job jail" people (as the other guys called them) are a little bit more articulate but they will treat you as a task that has to be checked in their note pads,nothing more.

Yes that's him The documentary was called "The Rules of Seduction" I think, but I can't find it now. Sad story really. The guy was so caught up in the pua marketing pitch that he simply spent every single dime on seminars.

He did develop some actual pickup skills in the process though, so as to the original question "can you get laid homeless", the answer is a resounding yes, there's plenty of examples around.

- Lived in maroon Mazda 626 while working at winery in Temecula, California for a month.

- Slept in Target parking lot at night

- Woke up at daybreak (the hot ass sun wakes you up whether you like it or not).

- Showered and did some exercise for free at the YMCA.

When my free week trial ran out I'd drive to a nearby city and do it afresh.

- Had a laptop with me and worked at Starbucks when I wasn't at the winery, trying to get my online business going.

- Got sick of living in the middle of nowhere so I drove up to San Francisco.

- Got a haircut at the mall and met a cute Asian girl.

- Went to Dave and Busters with her and got drunk, hooked up in my car.

- Stayed with my brother's dad for a while

- Tried to sell my car but the state of California requires emissions testing, which I not only failed spectacularly but the mechanic told me I'm not even allowed to drive now. Told him I'll see to it right away and drove off.

- Sold car to Chinese dude for $600

- Moved into closet-sized room in shitty residential hotel in Chinatown with bed bugs and crack addict neighbors

- Started to miss my car

- Had a lot of fun
