It shouldn't be too hard. America is broke already, social security is already broke and is pulling money from the general fund, it is no long completely self funding. We are reaping the consequences of the entitlement programs that were implemented in the 1930s and 1960s. The US WILL default on some of its promises within a decade or two tops. This is a mathematically certainty given current levels of entitlement. There is already nearly 20 trillion in debt on the books as well as 60-100 trillion in unfunded liabilities that are not on the books. The USA has been giving people free stuff already. Giving away more free stuff is really not an option. Currently the gov is spending about 35% of GDP, up from about 8% of GDP in the year 1900.

For this level of spending, the average guy really doesn't get all that much in return. Waging wars on the other side of the global is extremely expensive and the average taxpayer is left footing the bill.

All Trump has to do is stay on message and reveal the extent of the debt, and what that will mean for the future. There is no more money to give away. The USA is unlikely to ever repay the debt it currently has. The only option is a default in one way or another. Most like there will be a period of higher(10%) inflation and the debt will be shrunk in this manner.

I also have the opinion that we will default on a portion of the debt in some way shape or form under a Trump presidency. Trump will find a way to cut a smart deal, or a few of them.
