USA Today Involved In Nasty Peyton Manning Sexual-Assault Case Cover-Up
Quote:Thirteen years ago, USA Today obtained 74 pages of explosive court documents on Peyton Manning, Archie Manning, the University of Tennessee, and Florida Southern College that revealed allegations of a sexual-assault scandal, cover up, and smear campaign of the victim that was so deep, so widespread and so ugly that it would've rocked the American sports world to its core. Yet USA Today never released those documents for reasons I can't explain.

Mel Antonen, now a baseball writer for Sports Illustrated, wrote about the documents for the paper on Nov. 3, 2003. Three days later, Christine Brennan, longtime sportswriter for USA Today wrote an op-ed about Peyton Manning and the documents entitled, “Do you really know your sports hero?” but the scandal pretty much died right there.

Facebook wouldn’t be invented for three more months. Twitter didn’t come for three more years. The word “viral” was still only being used to describe the spread of infectious diseases.

But when the documents were sent to me on Tuesday, two days after the Super Bowl, it was immediately clear to me that had the world actually known what they contained, it’s doubtful that Peyton would have ever been the “swell, golly, gee-whiz” pitchman for Nationwide Insurance, DirecTV or Papa John’s Pizza. Certainly, evangelical op-eds calling him “squeaky clean” and positioning Peyton as the arbiter of all things good and decent in the world simply wouldn’t be the case.

But as his career winds down, we're left to grapple with the reality that there is credible evidence that Peyton and the Manning family knowingly, willingly, wantonly ruined the good name and career of Dr. Jamie Naughright, a respected scholar, speaker, professor, and trainer of some of the best athletes in the world.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national...?cid=bitly

This is a fascinating story, there's a lot more to it, including sexual-assualt, racism, etc.

Not sure what the USA Today was thinking with not reporting the news given that they had the actual court documentation that outlined the events that unfolded between the Mannings and Dr. Naughright between 1996 and 2003.

I'm not indicting Manning of committing a crime, but this particular case is really ugly for their "brand".

The article includes 74 pages of actual court documentation.

What does that have to do with the media?

Drama queen. Instituted no swearing/vulgarity policies across the athletic teams.

He said she said bullshit. Even if the story is true, the broad just got tea bagged. That shit happened a lot in colleges round the world. Broads need to stop invading male spaces if all they're going to do is fuck shit up.

I read the court papers. The witness testimony, including from former teammates of Manning, is very damning. The woman in question has apparently never worked again since the settlement, so it appears that the Mannings paid her the bank, enough to make her independently wealthy.

Shaun King, who wrote the Daily News story, is that weird white guy claiming to be black and has been accused of embezzling money from the Black Lives Matter movement. However, looks like he did his job competently breaking this story.

You did what most people won't do, you actually read the court papers, which is what the entire article is based on and regularly cites.

When the court documentation came out on the Columbia mattress chick, we all had a field day, but when it's in reverse, it's immediately listed as not credible because some guys have decided to believe that every accusation a woman makes is false, and men are always on the right side of an issue just because they're men.

This is actually much more indicative that people have decided they didn't want to work with her. She only got 300k in the settlement.

She actually got more than that because of the civil suit.

Furthermore, she got another job at a different university that she lost after the book came out, which was full of false information.

If you fully read the information that was provided, she didn't have anyone say anything bad about her other than the Mannings.

Quote:A good summary from PFT

"The ensuing #longread from Shaun King of the Daily News is at times hard to follow, as it attempts to summarize most of the 74 pages in chronological order. Also, King’s article displays a clear anti-Peyton bias, and more than a little melodrama. This #notaslongread item comes from the 74-page document itself, which has been published in full by the Daily News.

Before going any farther, it’s important to understand what the 74-page document is, and what it isn’t. The 74-page document is a piece of advocacy. The 74-page document is something that was written by the lawyers representing Jamie Ann Naughright in her defamation case against the Mannings. The 74-page document is, necessarily, one-sided.

The 74-page document is not objective. The 74-page document is not supposed to be objective. The 74-page document is not a court order or any other decision made by a neutral party. And, ultimately, the 74-page document is incomplete without comparing it to the corresponding “Facts of the Case” document submitted by the defendants in the case."

RE: USA Today Involved In Nasty Peyton Manning Sexual-Assault Case Cover-Up
According to the article itself, this is the extent of this alleged "sexual assault":

Quote:On Feb. 29 of that year, Naughright, at that point the university's director of health and wellness, was in a training room, examining what she thought might be a possible stress fracture in Manning's foot. At 6 feet, 5 inches, his feet dangled off the edge of the table. Manning allegedly then proceeded to scoot down the training table while Naughright examined his foot. At that point, she said, he forcefully maneuvered his naked testicles and rectum directly on her face with his penis on top of her head. Shocked, disgusted, and offended, Naughright pushed Manning away, removing her head out from under him (see pages 14-15). Within hours, she reported the incident to the Sexual Assault Crisis Center in Knoxville (see page 18).

In other words -- if this is to be believed -- he (intentionally, we are made to assume) slid down the training table so that his ass was momentarily on top of her head. That's it. For this, the woman ran down to the "Sexual Assault Crisis Center" and filed a complaint.

Now, the obvious SJW hater who wrote this article is going to extreme lengths to pretend that this is the most incredible, earth shattering news ever, which means that Manning is bad to the core, and everything he represented was based on a lie.

This is despicable garbage, and its only purpose is to besmirch Peyton and shit on his fans, and to hammer us with the "truth" that every good old American white boy, especially a Bud drinking southerner like PM, is really a hypocrite and a rapist. This SJW monster will shed some crocodile tears about the woman (that he obviously couldn't give the least shit about) and whine about how shocked he is. In fact he can't hide his glee and sexual excitement at having been able to dig up some dirt on an American icon who just won the super bowl, and especially a white dude with a squeaky clean image like Peyton. It's like this ghoul's every dream just came true -- that is the tone of the article.

If there is anything good about Scalia's death and the aftermath, it's that maybe it will kill this disgusting story. The SJWs will take it, I guess.

same old shit, sixes and sevens Shaft...

Those are not simply court documents, those are allegations made by a plaintiff through her attorneys. Unless there are other court records that are dispositive on these issues, we only have here allegations made by the plaintiff. I would assume that the attorneys here acted in good faith and did their due diligence when filing this case.

That being said, the article you cite is a mess. I'm not sure if King understands what the difference between an allegation and a disposition in a court case, but I don't think it would matter. He's a race-baiting hack who is clearly more interested in gaining attention for "exposing" Manning than anything else.

This is actually a quote from the article you have chosen to cite:

Quote:This document says, in essence, that it's all a facade, an act, a well-designed for-profit creation, maintained and manicured at all cost. For me, it was like reading proof that the first Apollo moon landing was really a fictional tale filmed in a Hollywood studio designed to dupe us all. That flag, planted in the moon, seemingly blowing in the wind, was a ruse after all. Maybe B.o.B. was right on this one fact.

Hypocrisy is what King takes from all this. Not that Peyton, in fact, sexually assaulted anybody, but that all this matters because it exposes him as a hypocrite. Jesus.
