I can make a woman laugh with ease, always have. But of all the women with whom I've had more than a casual fling, only one, just one, has a sense of humor that could crack me up anytime.

I just saw Fatty Lindy's book headline "Women are funny, it's ok to be fat, blah blah feminism"

Maybe Lindy hasn't read the memo, but when you have to convince anybody that someone/ something is funny, it automatically isn't. And that's just the point, because women do enjoy humor -or better said, they enjoy laughing.

If you really think about it, they don't really understand the finer points of humor.

If we break these down, it's got a lot to do with observation, with the ability to link seemingly random events creatively, and to deliver the 'joke' at the appropriate time and to the right audience. All of which is ironic because women are said to posses these talents naturally via their emotional intelligence and highly attuned social skills.

And yet, women are still not funny.

Well the first reason is that women stand to gain very little by humour. I don't know about you, but my attraction to a woman has nothing to do with whether or not she's funny. Women on the other hand, love a funny man. A good sense of humour is something that is built over a lifetime, there has to be some impetus behind that.

Additionally, women's feminine nature is to be passive and receptive, they're not risk takers. When you tell a joke, you take a risk that it might fall flat, offend someone, or get mocked. Hence women are quite capable of appreciating good humour, but very few of them can consistently and regularly produce it.

I find Japanese and Thai girls to be hilarious. But it's because of their accents and antics not dialogue. Vietnamese girls I've found can be genuinely funny but they are also the smartest girls I've ever met. White girls aren't the least bit funny.

Funny Thai girl story: my buddy and I stayed at a hotel in Patong next to a massage place. Every day we walked by and there were 10-12 cute girls out front that would touch us as we walked by, saying 'hansum man' and 'you want massage'. I thought it was great and would talk but my friend was annoyed by it and ignored them. The 8th or so time we walk by, my buddy (who is completely bald) snubs them again. The older one in the group yells out “YOU! I give you maaaasage... Then I give you free haiiiircut!“. I lost it.

Every time I see a girl say she's funny on her tinder/bumble profile I run away. These are the ones that try too hard to be funny/goofy/sarcastic. Sarah Silverman is the only girl I've ever found funny in my 30 years of existence.

It's difficult to cut down his writings to something shorter, they just don't lend themselves well to that, but here's the meat of the original piece:

Women have no corresponding need to appeal to men in this way. They already appeal to men, if you catch my drift.

In any case, my argument doesn’t say that there are no decent women comedians. There are more terrible female comedians than there are terrible male comedians, but there are some impressive ladies out there. Most of them, though, when you come to review the situation, are hefty or dykey or Jewish, or some combo of the three

Adam Carolla got the progressives riled up when he gave this interview to the New York Post:

You have to possess a certain amount of self awareness to be funny. That's why the top comedians are always making insightful jokes about people and their own behavior. They understand human nature to a degree that's beyond most women. Women follow, men lead. Having a herd mentality and being incapable of understanding your behavior and more importantly not having the ability to commentate on it to a broader audience in a funny way is a significant blind spot.

The other thing is that most women mistake snark as comedy. Snark in fact telegraphs that someone is an insulting insecure cunt and once again most men see through that veil too because all of us have dealt with it at one point or another. Most game aware men intuitively know why women put on that image too and it just isn't cute or funny.

A guy like Patrice O'Neal was/is funny because he was raw and unfiltered. He was speaking objective truth and men get this. Women don't for the most part.

There are women who are good at writing scripted scenes and jokes and can act like they are improvising. I think a lot of the new female comedians who are trendy right now fall into that category. The Tina Fey types aren't stand up comedians. They write shit that appeals to women and mainstream hipster guys first and foremost. It's their bread and butter. If you look at their writing it's all memes, catchphrases, and endless regurgitation of current pop culture trends. This appeals to the chick demographic who is into pop media.

Silverman is a pretty low rent comedian too. Her main appeal is to lesbians, gays, and her own specific white chick demographic who thinks she's edgy. She's in fact completely pedestrian.

Then you have outright joke thieves like Amy Schumer who it seems made their career poaching off others and just getting in at the right time on social media and with the help of guys like Howard Stern.

Group histeria and the never ending campaign to try and appeal to the audience.

If a girl is with a guy or a group of guys, she will laugh with them in an attempt to fit in. I did it myself in the past, even if I didn't find something funny I would laugh because I wanted to exude an appealing disposition.

If you see a group of girls laughing in a bar, almost to the point of perpetuation (who hasn't) that's the above combined with the aforementioned phenomenon of group delusion. Call it the Hyena complex.

Since most women are unaware of reality, they by definition can't be funny.

As RIslander points out with his Thai/Viet example, the more normal the society is, the more women will be in touch with reality and capable of such hilarious quips.

Biology. It's for the same reason women like big muscles.

Firstly, men's brains are bigger than women's. The difference in intelligence between the sexes is part of overall sexual dimorphism in the human species.

Secondly, humour serves no productive purpose. This is similar to music. These things, dominated by men, exist largely as fitness displays. Humour is a fast social cognitive process -- it serves no purpose other than to indicate brain health. 55% of the human genome is expressed in the brain, so good brain health is a good indication of genetic quality.

To put it simply, there is no biological reason for women to be funny. Women have their own different forms of fitness displays.

There is also plenty of reason for women to find funny men funny. A woman who better enjoys a funny man, will tend to get with funnier men, and thus have healthier offspring.

An interesting experiment would be to compare how much women laugh, to how they respond to muscles. I would guess that women who laugh more put less value in muscularity.

I work within a few yards of 7 women…they’re cracking up and laughing all day. I can hear everything and not once have I ever found anything they say amusing. I actually can’t remember the last time a woman made me laugh. I make women crack up all the time.

It’s really painful when you go for a job interview and the female interviewer thinks she’s hilarious and you have to fake laugh at her jokes to prove that you "fit in".

Few times where a woman made me laugh were purely situational and off the cuff. It's not something they can do consistently clearly.

Part of it is how they tell stories. Normally when a woman is telling you about something she goes into motor-mouth mode giving you every extraneous irrelevant detail she can think of.

Now when they try to tell a joke, they do the same thing and either accidentally start by telling you the punchline or spend so much time in the setup that you lose interest.

Also, women laughing at men's jokes has a lot more to do with signaling attraction than it does to generate attraction. In college I had a better-looking and more charismatic friend who was in the habit of repeating jokes I made, and I swear to God I would make a joke and get absolutely no response until Prince Charming repeats it and suddenly the girls are all laughing uproariously. This is why observing a natural in the wild is the equivalent of reading a thousand game blog posts, you have to see the difference for yourself.

This was critical to my pre-Red Pill / Game days and contributed to the heavy skepticism of "the way things are" in middle and high school that eventually led me to sites like this. As a super self conscious introvert that had trouble flirting and engaging in social small talk, I would tell bizarre jokes to a small group and receive a smirk or two, but mostly a tepid response, maybe even a scowl from a girl in the group. One of the "cool" kids would overhear it and repeat it later on that day and have girls giggling with no credit given to me. Used to drive me crazy, and calling them out for stealing my jokes usually painted me as a spaz or a liar, with others ganging up on me. It's absolutely true that you can take two men of unequal attraction, have them say or do the exact same things to women (crack crappy jokes, make fun of them, pull their hair, pinch their butt, etc.), and there will be a stark difference in the response. "TEE HEE HEE" vs. "CREEP! I'M TELLING!"

I figured this out very early on as a confused beta and luckily the long road ahead lead me to the sphere. I've found that when a girl is really attracted to you, she'll laugh at shit you say that isn't even funny. I then make fun of her for being a goober for laughing because it wasn't even a good joke, which just makes them laugh more

I think women aren't funny for the already covered reason #1, they don't have to be, and #2, they don't really see the lighter side of fucked up shit because they are so coddled and shielded from any hardship in today's PC society. Men are much more likely to call out bullshit because they actually experience it throughout life, unlike the princesses today whining about "pay gaps" and manspreading.

There's a social control element there too. If you're the established omega (Gervais principle) of the group you won't get credit for doing or saying anything clever. No one will laugh at your jokes otherwise it might cost them position within the hierarchy of the group. To use the Office framework, if Dwight ever actually said or did anything that wasn't Aspergian in nature, Jim would still mug for the camera and roll his eyes to demonstrate how much cooler he was than Dwight.

The reason why women aren't funny is because you need intelligence to be funny, and men are more intelligent than women. Feminists always blame patriarchal oppression for the reason why women aren't responsible for 90% of civilisation in 2016, books, art, music, architecture, etc - yet Taylor Swift, whose family are bankers, relies on men to make her music, despite saying that misogyny is ingrained in men from the day they are born. The same person who thinks that all men are misogynistic, also thinks that men are better than women, as she as a professional victim does not see herself as a woman as an equal stature to a man. I define intelligence as seeing truth that no one else sees. People like Roosh, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, Mark Zuckerberg, Donald Trump, Milo Yiannopoulous, Russell Brand, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Leigh Francis, Graham Lineham can see truth that no one else see. How many successful women do you know who can see truth that no one else sees? Serious question. Apart from JK Rowling.
