The refugees have fighters in their ranks and you can easily spot 2 at the front of that image above ^

Those who are fleeing now are Sunni's who fear they're going to get whats coming to them after what they did to the Shia Muslims and Christians. The Russians, Hezbollah and Syrian army are not full of Sunni's like the pro-Islamist crowd are surprisingly and I wouldn't put it past them to kill any Sunni they get their hands on.

I anticipate the western media to portray this as some sort of massacre carried out under the nose of Russian forces.

Once again real reporting has yet to surface here. Why the fuck are all of these civilians able to run from Aleppo now and not before? Why do they choose the time when a mass of military force is bearing down on them and then scream to be let into Turkey, didn't these people want to leave before? Why not? Were they hoping the fall of Assad would come as a result of the Sunni terrorists entities they were living with for the past 4 years?

I'm pretty sure Turkey doesn't want to let them in because they know full well there are a few hundred hardcore Islamist fighters in that crowd.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression that the Western intelligence agencies have recently taken a step back from actually arming and training the rebels to mostly observing. Hence the rapid gains by the Syrian Army and the Russians. What could be the reasons for this?

Maybe as one of the preconditions to the Iran deal?

Maybe they recognize that it was a futile effort from the start? They have spent so much time in there but have not actually gotten as good of results as they'd hoped for. Plus I've seen a large number of common people openly questioning the official narrative that the rebels we're funding are the "good guys".

Or maybe they have decided to allow the Syrian Army and Russia to capture Aleppo, in order to potentially negotiate a partition of the country along roughly an East/West Sunni?Shia line?

You're underestimating Russian capabilities. They're running hundreds of sorties a week and blowing shit up, not to mention the ground war they are currently fighting.

These terrorists were being supplied by Turkey but now that has been compromised, the western backing has collapsed and the majority of their fighters are falling back, dying or being captured.

They are fighting an enemy whose sole aim is to annihilate them, not restrained to some Human Rights law. This is how wars are usually fought.

Logistics, training and some arms is come through and by Turkey however the real money is coming from Saudi Arabia. The CIA has a deal with the Saudis, they provide 2-3 billion$ and the CIA is in charge of distributing the arms so that they don't get in the hands of ISIS, which they often do since these "moderates" keep defecting to Isis. Now some have defected to Assad but not as much as you would like.

Its a really fucked up situation because the Kurds in Syria are now supported by the Russians and since that incident with turkey(which was preconceived by Putin) Russia will finance the Kurds wherever they are from now on. The border region with turkey is controlled almost entirely by kurds and ISIS with a tine strip of land controlled by "rebels." Now that tine strip has been cutoff and hezbollah/assad are pusshing north, how are the weapons going to get in to the rest of the "rebels." They will have no choice but to defect to ISIS or Assad. Hezbollah also will have a ton more money since Iran's sanctions are gone.

Turkey now has to make a decision weather to go all in and invade syria, but they have to make it now. It was though that they have till the end of the Year to make that decision however with these Government gains, they might need to decide by the summer before its too late. That strip of land in control of the "rebels" will be engulfed by the Kurds and Assad, Turkey will have to go through ISIS land as the perfect pretext for invading Syria.

Also Israel has had a change of strategy over the years since they have started to support an independent Kurdistan(IRAQ) infuriating the Turks. I bet they are probably supporting the Syrain Kurds however its tough to prove since if they did, it would be leaked all over the papers by CIA and MI6. The CIA and MI6 have hacked all Israeli drones and they see what the Israelis see. Also i am betting if the CIA and MI6 is able to do that, the Russians most likely have the same capabilities to do that as well.

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Russia has informed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad of the decision. A statement from Assad's office stresses that the Kremlin has nonetheless pledged to continue its support for Syria in "confronting terrorism."

This is not good. I too suspect it has to do with that snake John Kerry and US pressure because I see no good reason to suspend this campaign.

There is no domestic opposition to the war in Russia. It's also not costing them anything. Russia is funding the whole Syria intervention with it's regular training and practice budget. Not a penny more.

I hope they atleast leave Assad their Mi-24's. Maybe a couple of tactical bombers as well.

Yeah, with our limited information we just have to watch and see how things play out before criticizing what appears to be a perplexing move. It obviously doesn't help Assad, though, if Russia reduces or stops bombing IS and Nustra.

Regardless, Islamic State and Nustra still control wide swaths of Syria which means Russia is announcing this before it achieved its objective of destroying and routing terrorists from Syria. So in that sense this is illogical even if this is some sort of ploy. Maybe Russia found out the US/Turkey were going to escalate and this is Russia's way to prevent that from happening.

This is the 3rd time (2 times in Ukraine) that Russia essentially prevents its side from routing the enemies. You know the US side goes for total military victory and/or complete destruction.

A little premature in my opinion.

Either Putin was bought by the US
or he doesn't want ISIS to get completely destroyed to have some kind of pivot
or his intelligence has gathered that ISIS has lost most funding and thus Assad will be able to take care of it

If ISIS starts gaining ground again and he doesn't bring all forces back to Syria, my respect for him will be gone. I'm aware that Russia is no welfare organization but I'm sure he got some kind of compensation from Assad in terms of trade agreements or other relations. Plus it doesn't cost much so now that he's been going at it for so long he might as well just finish the job.

He's most likely aware that if he lets Syria fall in the hands of the Zionists, Russia's fate will turn darker too, so I can hope and expect that he knows what he's doing.
