Unofficial meetups Photos Precaution - EXIF data
Hey all, I know there are words of private meetups and I just wanted to point out that if you're taking photos(with faces blurred etc) there's one other precaution you might want to consider. I don't know how RVF processes images but one thing you definitely want to do is strip EXIF data from any photos you make.

I'll say it again, strip EXIF data from photos. EXIF data is metadata about your photo, including your NAME and LOCATION.

Google "strip EXIF data" to figure this out for your OS.

Easiest way to do this:

1) Upload your photo to imgur, which strips out the EXIF data

2) Use the imgur share link. They even give you BB code for easy embeds on RVF and many other forums. This also reduces bandwidth costs for Roosh.

Is it even prudent to blur faces? There might be software which can redo it. Is is better to cut faces from the pictures before posting?

Unless I've missed the memo, since when do we take pictures at meetups? I've met with a handful of members, no picture has ever made its way to this forum.

We need to be more careful than this from now on only take pictures with a Polaroid camera, then sharpie out the faces, drive to the other side of town and upload it via a public library scanner.

Blackout may be a bit better, but in most cases anyone who has the capability to do that already knows who you are by virtue of having access to the network infrastructure (eg. intel agencies).

You can undo photo distortion with the right setup.

Just cut the faces out from the original copy and upload the edited one. There is no way to undo something that does not exist.

I don't get this either. Why take any photos? Especially at the first meeting.

Yeah, unless it's for the sole purpose of antagonizing SJWs by proving that we met up in spite of their harassment, then I see no point.

Regardless, some good tips in here on stripping EXIF data. All of us will likely have to exercise more caution going forward in regard to the information that we share online.

How is this an advocation for taking photos at meetups? And just because YOU don't see a point of taking a photo at a meetup that doesn't mean someone else doesn't. IF you want to take a photo(with a human figure in it or not) be careful of EXIF data.

Up until this week I'd have said you're being paranoid.

I do not expect that the secret services will be after us. Although the MSM probably compares us to Al Kaida, ISIS, Hamas and what not at the moment, I simply do not expect the Secret Service to knock on our doors.

But, in the future, who knows.

After all, we are dealing with very evil people.

We never said it was an advocation for anything, and none of us are attacking your post as far as I can tell (I'm certainly not). I also agreed with your suggestion for removing EXIF data, as it's prudent advice for anyone who wishes to share photos online.
