Portugal suffers the same diseases as any other western country, or even more judging by the antidepressants consumption...Also must be the w.country with less amount of sexual activity per capita.

These are the countries that consume the most antidepressants

Also this law that passed last friday in the Parliament is an indicator of where things are going, and not whithout mentioning that this matriarchal, feminist, SJW, multiracial and hipster loving society has no one to calls things by their name since it his all "normal", and anyone who says something against the norm is automatically labeled as "reaccionário" (originally counter revolucionaries, of the left propelled coup d'etat in 1974 who abolished fascism).

Portugal Grants Adoption Rights to Same-Sex Couples

You have all the right in the world to love your country, but your advice is only good if the receptor is in his 60s.

And Portugal is not safe at all, lot of petty thief wich can turn violent (also the local authorities where never "accurate" in the stats provided). Still a local who knows the places to avoid can feel safe, I am quite confortable to say that any place in eastern europe is safer. As for foreigners...no even the ones living in expensive Villas and respective bubbles are safe.

http://news.sky.com/story/1557070/algarv...crime-drop

Yeah, I'm not too worried about the petty thieves - we have a ton of them here in Spain as well. Some of them can turn violent but in my time here I never had any major problems. The only street altercation I ever had was with a group of Romanians - those fuckers you better watch out for because they will always jump you in groups.

Anyway, clearly this isn't about pickpockets or petty crime - my goal is to extract myself from a continent that is bound to be saturated with Islam over the next decade. For that reason Portugal - as great as a country it still may be right now - is simply not an option. That and I don't like women with mustaches - just KIDDING!! ;-)

Because they have implemented policies to do that.

Exactly and if Muslims would ever try to take over parts of a neighborhood the Ninkyo Dantai (Yakuza) would literally cut them into pieces. You just don't fuck with those guys. As pussified as the grasseater generation may be there prevails a certain element in Japan that is masculine as fuck. They are happy to die for their country or for their cause/clan, which is the very reason Muslims don't bother go there. I wish our Western mafia gangs would have put up more of a fight.

If you want to bank coin then I recommend SALES - your English is still a bit 'holprig' as they say in German ;-) but more than good enough to land a job in international sales somewhere. If you're an engineer you may also find opportunities abroad but you'll always be a worker bee. Of course you can do what I did - start an online business and sell some product. But boy - it's hard work and I regularly put in 70 hours plus each week (for many years now).

RE: Escape The West - But To Where?
YES, this is very much an individual assessment.

I'm able to re-locate to CE. And get citizenship. So, I will make my stand there for the West, its greatnes and glories against the barbarians and red pill ruling classes. Like the OP, I'm well aware of the inevitable consequences of Hijrah that is changing Western Europe for the worse, the enemy will take over the croissant and beer guzzlers first, but only after the swedes are completely devoured in the next decade. The enemy is multicult, etc (which only four years ago Merkel called a "failure" and "crazy.")

Where are my winter time and second-step homes? Possibly the Canary Islands. It has enough to attract me - but to keep me? I don't know. I'll have to visit.

Possibly, Saigon, Vietnam. Said to be to the right of NYC, economically, it is a young country with vibrance abd development - which I may find exciting! And given their admired French-colonial past (its safe to "admire" now that their rule is long gone), this has long improved the cuisine. Oh, and as a counterweight to China's overbearing heft, they are pro-American - which can be an advantage for this expat.

Therefore, I'd at least add Vietnam to your possibles list.

I would also remove Puerto Rico, because it is North America's Greece - broke, with huge numbers of the young and talented exiting for the mainland (especially Florida), and a big entitlement/welfare system corrupting the rest who stay. (PR is serious case study in how government corrupts the population.)

But my real alternatives come down to two: Samana, NE Dominican Republic. Scenic, and underdeveloped, land in the 1,000 meter hills is cheap. The white sand beaches cannot be excelled (making every top ten list). 10,000ft mountains are there hours away; it has the least awful west season in the Carib. And the hills keep hurricanes down to tropical winds.

The upside of land investment and development is high, and better than anywhere else in the Carib. The seasonal tourism has also resulted in a diversifying small town amenities. And if all else fails just enjoy the waters!

The other hot spots for me are certain interior areas of Mexico. Mexico is now surpassing Brazil, economically. There is history, optimism, great weather, and sights to see. I have my eye on old town two hours South of Mexico City, and another some three or four hours North. Towns of several hundred thousands, with expat populations of a few thousands - or not, if you choose to ignore them.

I want to integrate, of course, but I also know that too much of my knowledge-base is focused on Anglo-American culture, history, politics, and experience to jettison it. I will need an expat population to socialize with, share knowledge, and stimulate me. The internet substitutes for this go only so far.

So, I guess, by example - the basis for your list is to own all the "know thy self's" you can muster. For example, do you want to basically replicate the social opps and lifestyles you're used to? Or are you up for stretching yourself? Define these, and your lists will come into focus and narrow accordingly.

From there comes the winnowing process by making trips to visit, first (including rainy season or tourist seasons, if those apply). And then visiting for a longer period - both to slow your life down with a home base (and therefore close in pace to actual living there), and also to mix it up by exploring outside it. And thereby "mixing it up."

Only then do I think I will be ready to commit to any of these "secondary" homes. DR is easy to reach from CE, because Nikky Air does seasonal travel from 2 or 3 of the smaller Austrian cities.

"Europa selbsmordt" (suicide) over Islam necessitates a thorough rethink - and formulating a good backup plan. Parts of Western Europe are either lost, or going in a decade or two. What parts can be saved? And are any timeframes going to altered by meeting the current crisis?

If the ancient and sagely Chinese curse (as a SciFi author imagines) is "May you live in interesting times," then we certainly do.

Solid Basic Infrastructure - clean water and electricity with rare outages. A challenge in many parts of South America but it's a regional thing, and there are places in Mexico that have great water whilst you may get arsenic poisoning drinking water out of the faucet or mercury poisoning just taking a shower in others.
Solid Internet Access - I am talking at least 5Mb/sec with rare outages. That'll be a tough one outside 1st world countries.
Good Weather - note that I mentioned 'good' and not 'great' - if I have to choose between L.A. or Mediterranean weather and living out my days in peace/safety I rather deal with a bit of seasonal discomfort.
Food We Like - that sounds like a luxury but I have learned in my life that living in a place where you hate the food is almost impossible. Forget about organic food of course - we hope to find a place where we make friends with local farmers and perhaps grow our own vegetables."

There were his requirements. Where does Portugal not match? Don't let your hate of the country turn into clouded vision.

I also don't "love" my country, maybe in a poetic or metaphoric way, but I'm not a nationalist or much of a patriot, that is not a tendency here.

I hope you love your country - Portugal is beautiful, the people are great, the food is awesome, women are gorgeous, it has a lot of history, architecture, etc. NO problem living there right now or perhaps in the next few years.

But given Islam encroaching steadily how long do you think it will take until Germany/France will decide to unload a ton of their 'enrichment' to the debtors of the European Union? Here in Spain we are already seeing small cells of terrorists being established, and some of them have been discovered thanks to the hard work of the Guardia Civil. Clearly ISIS wants to reclaim at minimum Al Andaluz (Andalusia) and given the liberal political leaning here in Spain and the fact that Podemos is bound to take over this November, I see very little stand in the way of Muslim expansion here in Spain and thus most likely also in Portugal.

BTW, I am not a Spaniard - some of you guys seem to assume that I'm Spanish and am leaving only because of the economic problems here. I don't work in Spain, I'm not a Spaniard - I only live here.

They always talk about Islamic extremists which clearly shows that none of those people really understand Islam. There IS NOT ISLAMIC EXTREMISM - there is only ISLAM. The Quran is not what should be consulted - one needs to read the Hadith and the Sunna to really understand that Islam is not just a religion - the Sunna is what is defined as a 'path, a way, a manner of life'. Another aspect of Islam that most Westerners don't understand is that there are two faces of Islam, that of Mecca and that of Medina. The former is very peaceful and was a failure in that Mohammad was able to muster up 150 followers. Once in Medina Islam turned to Jihad and by the time Mohammad died almost every Arab was a follower of Islam.

Know they enemy!

I think I wrote about this in my OP - we are pretty much social chameleons and require very little to be happy. Unfortunately I do need a relatively fast Internet connection as that is my bread and butter. I do have the luxury of being relatively location independent but with that comes the dependency on being connected to the Internet reliably. It's not a luxury - it's my business.

RE: Escape The West - But To Where?
I seriously doubt Portugal will see high nunmbers of muslim immigrants. We have 50 thousand but as I said it's mostly long term ones. Not to mention we have a good tradition in terms of integration and I can't really remember an instance of muslim related crime. Well, unless one includes some paki or afghan petty sort of dealers and what not, but those guys are probably as muslim as I am catholic. Most of the muslims here come from former colonies Guinea Bissau or Mozambique and they're normally harmless, the rest are from the indian subcontinent. I won't say some of the Indians/Pakis/Afghans don't give me a few "ew" but meh. I just don't see it happening, and if the numbers increase we'll deal with it, that's one of the few things we're good at anyway ... Big Grin

I also have serious doubts that Podemos stands a chance.

To some extent, the above has already occurred. General forum consensus is that Eastern Europe, Latin America, and Southeast Asia are better than the West, at least for getting women. Though as you can see, we even have folks who dissent on that.

Once you try narrowing it down past that though, you're generally looking at personal preferences and experiences instead of forum consensus. That's why most location data sheets start off with a description of who's writing it.

Trust me, I'd love it if I could ask the forum to pick three or four countries for me too, but I doubt a consensus would be reached.

Picking a few cities may be like picking a few girls. While there's general consensus on how to pick up girls (approach a lot, lift, dress well, etc), at the end of the day, you still have to date a bunch before you find a few you like.

In other words, you may be looking for a shortcut where there is none.

And it's not like I don't want you to be successful. I don't even know you! No, on the contrary - I don't want you to get "analysis paralysis" such that you don't take a leap of faith action, which I believe you eventually will have to.

Edit: While the process of finding a city may take some time - I'm doing it now - a few years may be a stretch.

My process is:
1) Pick a region.
2) Pick a base city based on forum research. Be there for a month.
3) Do scout trips to nearby cities based on more forum research.
4) Assess the base city. Stay if you like, or go to a scouted city until you've got a feel for the region. Then go back to step 1.

RE: Escape The West - But To Where?
One thing absolutely ought to be added to this thread, by every thorough poster and for every proposed country:

Weather, internet access, safety, English levels, cost of life, beauty of women... all of that is very important, sure. But, what about easy, relatively fast ways of getting permanent residency?

Because before anything else, I'd put permanent residency laws or long-term visa situation, in my choice criteria for a country...

[*]Relative Safety - by relative I mean not having to worry about getting shot or robbed on the way to the gym/market. That rules out many parts of Mexico for instance but not all. It also dropped Buenos Aires and many parts of Argentina off our list.
[*]Solid Basic Infrastructure - clean water and electricity with rare outages. A challenge in many parts of South America but it's a regional thing, and there are places in Mexico that have great water whilst you may get arsenic poisoning drinking water out of the faucet or mercury poisoning just taking a shower in others.
[*]Solid Internet Access - I am talking at least 5Mb/sec with rare outages. That'll be a tough one outside 1st world countries.
[*]Good Weather - note that I mentioned 'good' and not 'great' - if I have to choose between L.A. or Mediterranean weather and living out my days in peace/safety I rather deal with a bit of seasonal discomfort.
[*]Food We Like - that sounds like a luxury but I have learned in my life that living in a place where you hate the food is almost impossible. Forget about organic food of course - we hope to find a place where we make friends with local farmers and perhaps grow our own vegetables.

I'll be pissing in the wind with this but Armenia ticks all those boxes you listed.

Was there recently for three weeks.

1. Low Muslim Population; Tick. Tick. Tick.
Armenia is a country where the Muslim knows his place. An ancient Christian country and proud of being so they have no truck with petulant Muslims. They fought a war with Azerbaijan, took a huge chunk of its land and ethnically cleansed it of Muslims ( Karabakh ). I've never been anywhere so openly anti-Muslim.

2. Relative Safety; Tick. Tick. Tick.
Armenia is very safe. Walk around at midnight alone with no fear of trouble. Clubs and pubs are safe. People are relaxed and friendly.

3. Solid Basic Infrastructure; Tick. Tick.
Yerevan is a modern city with everything you need. Clean moutain water. Heating. Electicity. Transport. Gyms. Everything you need to lead a comfortable life.

4. Solid Internet Access; Tick. Tick. Tick.
Even in the remote mountains I had internet connection. I was driving in remotest Southern Armenia watching a Roosh Youtube video on my phone at the same time.

5. Good Weather; Tick. Tick.
Whilst Western Europe is turning on their radiators in Autumn down in Yerevan I was sunbathing. Hot summers and a short cold snap in winter.

6. Food We Like; Tick. Tick.
If you like bbq then you'll like it. Armenain food is good ( I prefer Georgian tbh ). Lots of natural foods from the mountains, fruit, nuts, freshly killed meat. Supermarkets are stocked with whatever you want.

Go and find a nice wife, pump out some kids and build a life down there.

Hey that sounds great! Except for the very last part - I think my wife may have an issue with it ;-)

Below 25 years old in English. Over 25 years old in Russian.

Well, then I'm set - I wouldn't talk to any woman over 25 anyway Whip

Damn yeah - that definitely should go on the list. Chile is supposed to be pretty easy although the red tape down there is horrible. Mexico is also surprisingly hard. It all depends on your resources and the effort you're willing to put in.

It is a delicious irony that a requirement for your adoptive homeland is that it should have low barriers to citizenship when it is arguable that no other factor has played so significant-a-role in the decline of the West. 'Those who do not learn from History a doomed to repeat it', or something like that.

RE: Escape The West - But To Where?
I'd like to get down to Latin America. I doubt Latin culture will ever allow feminism in, and Latins aren't as pussywhipped as Europe and the USA/Canada when it comes to political correctness. Also, although it's in decline, I think the Catholic Church has the intellectual teeth to stand against Islam.

Otherwise, there's Europe, which I think is actually going to see a rise in Nationalism as more and more of these terrorist attacks and economic stagnation take place. The Muslim terrorists are gonna get what they want. A return of European nationalism.

America could also one day be saved, but for now I think our country is woefully bluepill and undesirable for many reasons. Bland suburbs/architecture, dysfunctional dating/relationship scene, tepid women, crappy political climate, etc. I'd like to stay in touch with my family, keep my American job (salary), possibly invest in a home here, but otherwise for social life and personal passions, my interests probably lie in Latin America and Europe.

RE: Escape The West - But To Where?
How about we combine the expat and the resistance ideas, by everyone all moving to Poland?

If all the people who are willing to resist takeover are all in one country, who knows maybe Poland can leave the EU and become a proud traditional nation. Maybe a whole load of nationalists being in one country would intimidate the lefties and invaders into leaving and avoiding the country.

It doesn't have to be Poland but it's one of the countries in Europe that actually seems to have most of the population on our side and all you need is an EU passport.

Another idea is just taking over a remote island somewhere. We might not even have to use force, just enter the country like whats happening here. For Europe I guess Azores and Greenland are kind of remote, but are part of Portugal and Denmark so they're probably not good options. We would have probably have to find a remote island of an independent country.

I have a Mexican passport so I'm also thinking Mexico. I'm going to check out Queretaro in January.

By the way, I realise a lot of what I just typed is pretty crazy, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Unfortunately, this is true.
The internet is burning through national cultures faster than fire.

Even the example with Armenia above won't valid in few years.
As the country's elite wants to integrate into the EU and NATO as well.

So the default course of action in the face of an invasion is to turn tail and run?

What makes you think your going to be better off (long term) anywhere else?

If the west is over run by "migrants" there is NO chance to turn the tide.

There's plenty of reasons to move away from your home country, but fleeing islam thinking your safe anywhere else IS NOT one of them.

Viver em Portugal não vale mais a pena. Sou dos Açores e jà não vou voltar mais. Tà mesmo tudo fodido.
