Fogel, like Cosby, was a respected and liked man. He was well-known person who gained respect for losing a shit-load of weight, so much so that a massive company called Subways hired him to be their SPOKESPERSON ! In other words, they wanted HIM to represent a multi-billion dollar business. That is a big deal. The person who is to represent a multi-billion dollar business better be very likeable and respectable to a lot of people.

He may not be your or my idea of charismatic and respected, but for business pros who needed the fate of their multi-billion dollar enterprise to be well represented, he did the job.

You need to do your research.

One guy is Jared Fogel:

* Lost a lot of weight and because of an article his dorm-mate wrote (he would've been a nobody if not for his dorm-mate getting him noticed).
* Was Subway Spokesman for ~15 years.
* He also created a charity, but it was a scam:

AneroidOcean, in my original post, I was not equating Fogels charismatic appeal to Bill Cosbys, I believe you know this, and you stated in a kind of off-handed manner "how can you compare the two", to which I followed up with a post clarifying Fogel was charismatic enough, just in case you were serious about an implied equation of charisma between the two on my point.

Your post up above listing Cosbys achievements doesn't negate my point. Jared Fogel is 'charismatic' enough for a multi-billion dollar corporation to hire as a spokesperson.

I don't need to do any research on Cosbys achievements by the way. I grew up with him all over the t.v. and radio. I know he's loved and respected, and why I sometimes feel sorry for the forum members who are pained over the accusations leveled against him. I will not be swayed by the forums popular opinion on this one. Common sense dictates ( to me at least) that where there's smoke, there's fire...and in Cosbys case, there's a hell of a lot of smoke, it's billowing out over there.

I think what probably irked you and others was my description of Cosby 'fucking the unconscious bodies'. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have written that. I was going to go in and edit it out only fifteen minutes after I had written it. But you had quoted my post by then.

How can people so quickly forget how much drugs was consumed willingly in the 60's, 70's and 80's don't forget the 90's! Every hear of Karen Quinlan who popped ludes and got drunk and went into a permanent coma? Cosby partied like everybody else. Everybody except the Amish. I knew dozens of guys who supplied girlfriends with pills.
Cosby is innocent. If he was guilty he would have done time 30-40 years ago.

I don't see how anyone who listened to the tapes can defend this guy. I agrer that a woman probably would have got a lighter sentence, but to me the issue is to punish women more for this, not guys less.

Jared Fogle is gaining weight, not making friends in prison

A follow-up to how the (former) Subway guy is doing in prison. Stress-eating apparently, and not of the sandwich variety. He has a new (old?) favorite food group:
