The challenge really lies in that it's culturally acceptable for women enhance(fake) their appearance. You have a shitload of 5'4" women who are walking around in 5" boots that are now magically 5'9" and will demand males 6ft+. Smoke and mirror show. I'll see this at work from time to time. The laziness factor creeps in some mornings and that same girl shows up to work in flats. She's now transformed into a 5'4" hobbit and other features also get worse because a girls figure in general is more more appealing when in heels(her ass, legs, posture).

It's almost mind boggling to see girls transform day to day because of simple outfit decisions.

For women heels itself are beautiful. For men heeled shoes are just to compensate for lack of height.

Women shouldn't be too tall, otherwise they can't wear high heels without looking too tall.

167 cm (5ft5 3/4) is the perfect length of a girl. It still doesn't make her too tall even if wearing 13 cm (5 inch) heels. Without heels it also looks good.

I wouldn't say that. They all want (proportionately) long legs, and the point of heels is to provide that illusion.

I suppose they're also precarious enough to make them seem more feminine.

More than 6'1" for sure. Less than 6'6" or so, that puts you much taller than a lot of females. I live in China though. I'm less than 6" without shoes and I wear thick soled oxfords or boots, plus I put in a thick insole, sometimes two. That puts me in the 6'1" range and I think a little taller would be better.

I have a friend who's 5ft 9 who wears them. I always think he probably loses more girls by wearing awful, awful shoes than he gains by being 2" taller.

If they were stylish I suppose this would be less of a problem, but any I've seen always just look very clunky/cheap. Shoes designed by nerds for nerds, we jokingly say to him.

Yes they do but shorter girls need heels more than taller girls. A girl who is 5'8" can still look really good in flats where as shorter girl needs heels. Anytime I see some of the girls at my work who are on the shorter side wearing flats it really shows.

Wear the lifts that go into the shoe of your choice, not specially-made "elevator shoes".

I recently purchased some elevator boots from the company dons shoes. They´re not cheap, but I can definitely recommend them. As a guy on the shortish/low average side (between 5-8 and 5-9) I wanted to try them out. They promise 5 inches. They don´t quite give you that much, but near 4 inches, so they took me to 6ft + They look like normal boots and are not really noticable.

Certainly feels good and you get noticed more, as even with 6 ft + you are taller than most guys and almost all chicks. The drawback is that they can get quite uncomfortable after a few hours and hurt your feet. And also did some day game with those shoes and can definitely NOT recommend it You are also quite slow when you first walk with them, so I had difficulties to keep up with some chicks who were walking faster with those elevators

But for going out/night game, I can definitely recommend it. You just have to get used to it. If you decide to buy elevators, buy them from a good company like dons shoes. I can definitely recommend them. Another good company is Guido Maggi from Italy. Haven´t tried those personally, but read some good reviews. They are more expensive than dons shoes, though. You can also purchase dress shoes, which give you about 2-3 inches and are hardly noticable.
