This girl is a leftist but I consider her honest and levelheaded and everything she said pointed towards the case not being as bad as it looks, she showed me that the procedures were made systematically to favour actual Syrians and that it would be much harder for non Syrians... this seems to be a good sign.

If true, it is a good sign, but I'll believe it when I start seeing footage of migrants getting sent back in large numbers. Plus, we know that migrants in centers are able to slip away with no trace of their whereabouts, so who knows how many will be out of the system. And I'm skeptical: even before Merkel's insane open doors announcement, it's been rather evident that the migrants who get to Lampedusa/etc (thanks to EU navies acting like a ferry service) simply aren't, for a whole host of reasons, sent back.

It would be a massive 180 if that information is true (not to say it isn't, of course), but if Merkel's starting to smell the discontent over her madness and wants to save her political career, maybe it could happen. We'll see.

It is quite fitting. The Battle of Tours is possibly the most climactic clash in all of history, as it represented the first time the Islamic advance was halted anywhere in the world after over a century of unceasing violent expansion. It may very well have saved all of Europe from being overrun, as there was very little standing behind Charles Martel's army in the fragmented world of the Dark Ages. And if Europe had fallen to the Islamic tide, the greatest probability is that the entire world would still be in a literal dark age today, existing in a Hobbesian state of primitive subsistence devoid of the benefits of modern technology.

In repudiating a holiday for it's tenuous link to the Battle of Tours, the despicable human excrement that constitutes so much of today's European population is doing nothing less than apologizing and begging for forgiveness for the crime of ever having defended itself from rape and destruction by invading Islamic armies. Honestly the biggest problem with Europe is misinformation. A lot of the folks i've dealt with here in the UK are so woefully misinformed it is staggering.

I had a debate with my room mate about how unsafe Europe is becoming. I told him that the importation of 3rd world trash will fracture and destroy Europe's socialist utopia. He insisted that only a few countries around the world have traditional genders roles to which I responded by laughing. To make matters even worse, he was saying they should be allowed in because of all of the American wars going on in the middle east, again to which I replied that there are many many muslim majority countries they can go to which they refuse.

It's little things like this where I just question the intelligence of europeans. It's almost of a head in the sand type of behavior.

The kicker was when he insisted that nowhere in the UK you can legally own a pistol, to which I said you can legally own a pistol in northern Ireland. He was insistent about the ban applying there, to which I put my hand out and said 10 pounds put your money where your mouth is. At this point he backed down and I pulled up the law allowed pistol ownership in Northern Ireland.

I was under the impression europeans are well read and aware. So far it seems that they're pretty darned ignorant.

@The Beast1 Many Europeans, particularly Western Europeans are just very indoctrinated by left leaning media and academia for decades now.
The situation is compounded and reinforced by Facebook where anyone that goes against the liberal "tolerant" narrative gets socially shamed and potentially ostracised, so you end up with probably 80% of people in the 15 to 50 age group who are living in an echo chamber of liberal groupthink.
It's not that they're not intelligent so to speak, they're just very indoctrinated and don't tend to question the narrative they're being fed.

I agree with you. However I still question their intelligence. Even when I found myself in liberal echo chambers in the past, I started slowly quesitoning the narrative around me which lead to me being ostracized. Frankly joke is on them as i'm financially way better of than all of them now.

If a group of people are unable to question and look critically at a situation regardless of it being good or bad for their own interests, they most likely lack the intelligence to do so. People like us are rare.

She also told me Germany is doing a very scrutinized and detailed filtering of the profile of people that interest them and approving their requests. Also said that the ones that do not exactly fit the criteria are the ones supposed to be distributed by the quotas system agreed by some of the EU's members in September.

In short, "Germany" orchestrated this quite well, and from what she said about the "profile" of the required people, it was mostly potentially cheap labour (manufacturing section probably). And yes, she did also mention them escaping from detention centers but let's be clear, they might live here as illegals but that won't really give them any money, she said the ones that get their requests denied will have two to three months to leave Schengen either way. They might loaf around , yes, absolutely. But still, it's not as bad as having the confirmation of a completely unfiltered entrance. She said the amounts of bureaucracy are increasingly complicated, which suggests the EU (or Germany) definitely wants to slow down the process.
