Basically Ayahuasca is DMT with an MAOI. A similar effect can be achieved with green tea (weak MAOI effects) and DMT.
I got a bit of the "spice" and i'm a bit nervous to go balls deep. The level 5 trip stuff sounds too intense. Even though i've done acid, shrooms, salvia, and 2ci.

RE: How does taking acid change you?
I took 2 tabs of pure LSD on my first ever trip which lasted about 18 hours. I had took the tabs at 10am and my trip lasted till about 6am the next day. I think the reason it may have lasted so long was that we smoked 2 joints about 2 hours into our trip.
I had done a small dose of shrooms prior to this and smoked mary jane here and there.
I was looking for an eye opening experience like yourself probably.
What I will say is.. The day i took acid was not only one of the scariest days of my life but also one of the most euphoric.
If you do decide to try it. Make sure you know what you're taking. Be with someone who is open minded and you trust.
Most of all be aware that when you start to peak, you will feel like you are a million miles from sobriety. If you've never felt bad anxiety, there's a good chance you will.
I remember 4 hours into my trip when I really started peaking, I sat up all confused, looked at my friend and told him to explain to me wtf was going on?!
He simply looked at me and said "Its acid man, everybody on acid tries to explain acid, but acid cannot be explained. Just relax your mind, become friends with the drug and enjoy it"
We put some music in our headphones and went out for a walk into Hyde Park (London).
The leaves on the trees, bright green grass and beautiful blue sky with fluffy white clouds, while listening to some relaxing Stan Getz Jazz quickly put my mind at ease and I fell in love in the moment. Every step felt euphoric and the last time I'd felt so confident and happy was probably back when I was a kid
Most likely you will encounter intense visual distortion. Hallucinations. They will be very random but some relate to things that maybe you have some sort of unconscious connection with.
Also you will never appreciate music until you hear it on acid. Your mind becomes one with the music and you just such great pleasure from this divine sound.
Be aware your mind wont be in its normal state at all and its not like you can just switch back..
I remember walking back from Hyde Park and stopping at a Tesco on the way back. I had a basket full of food like chocolate, fruit. biscuits, milkshake.. I got to the checkouts and I just looked at the checkout and I literally could not figure out in my head how to use the checkouts and how to pay for the items. After probably 10 minutes of standing and staring at the checkouts trying to figure out how to pay for my items I just put the basket down and left the store. I laugh about it now, but scary stuff at the time!

RE: How does taking acid change you?
The most visual trip I had was on a Halloween. Me and a buddy went to a tripping party and I bought two drops of liquid acid... the guy was squirting it out of a Visine eye dropper into our mouths and was very generous. They gave these glow in the dark vampire teeth to everyone at the party so I poped them in m mouth and went about living my life. Sometime later I go in the bathroom to take a wizz and look in the mirror and I start to transform into a werewolf. I stare in amazement until my brain can't handle it any more and look away real fast. Then I take a deep breath prepare myself and stare again... my ears get pointy, my mouth starts to get long, my eye brows scowl and I begin to grow hair all over my face and I have to turn my head and look away... I find it to be one of the most bizarre and entertaining things so I stay in the bathroom for a hour or so just looking in the mirror, then freaking out and turning my head when it got to real.
Also when I did pee there was a pube on the toilet and it start dancing like a snake when one of those guys plays the flute and the snake dances up from the basket. I thought it was pretty cool... later that night I returned to pee again and noticed the pube was gone. This saddened me... so I plucked one of my pubes and stuck it on the toilet and it started dancing and I was happy again.
True Story
Also to the fella above that mentioned smoking Mary Jane when tripping. It certainly helps, I remember the first time I did acid I thought I got robbed cause I didn't really have any visuals about a hour after taking the tabs. So I drove down in the holler (Redneck AF) and smoked a few bowl packs with my friends. When I was driving out of the holler I took a turn and my hand on the steering wheel stayed where it was but then another arm came out of my elbow and turned as I turned the wheel.. I was like Whoa, so I took the hand off the wheel and held it up and there was two arms and hands coming from my elbow. I calmly said to my friends once we hit the end of this road someone else should drive. Then I remember we went to my boys house like 15 mins away and I sat in the back of the car and when I looked out the window it felt like I was watching all the scenery go by like I was in a cartoon. Then later that night me and a buddy walked to under a overpass bridge above the interstate close to his house. We sat under the bridge and watched the cars go by, then we walked down beside the interstate an would hide when a car would go by. Before you know it we were pretty much standing in the interstate yelling when cars went by...... (not the brightest thing, but we were young and on drugs)
Life is good now.. I can't complain really. But life will never be as wild or fun as it was during my drugs, sex, and rock and roll youth.

Two things:
1) Get a trip sitter. It's only 10 minutes, but I'd say if you're nervous about it and it's your first time, you might as well. Things can also happen under ten minutes when you're that strongly intoxicated.
2) Have you considered making it into changa? It mellows it down a bit and makes it into a less 'harsh' trip, or so people say. I've had both but it's been a long long time -- I do remember preferring the changa though.

RE: How does taking acid change you?
I had a year when I was 21 where I took a ton of drugs, primarily non-hallucinogenic stimulants (amphetamine, coke) but I also tried LSD once, psilocybe mushrooms at least a handful of times plus some moderately hallucinogenic variants of ecstasy on many occasions.
It's extremely difficult to describe the sensation to someone who hasn't taken drugs - and since countless authors have done it much better, though still thoroughly inadequate job, than I could ever hope for, I'm not going to bother attempting descriptive details of my trips.
Let's just say that at least for me all the monumental feelings of sensory openness, momentary insights and just plain weirdness I felt while it lasted, were completely irrelevant and useless when the drugs had worn off and I was left with at most regular, "flat" memories of some of the weird sensory distortions I had experienced.
My opinion on hard drugs these days (excluding the ones that get you physically addicted very quickly, I quit everything I took from one day to the next with some weeks of tiredness being about the worst side effects) is that I don't think there's usually any harm in trying (with the usual safety caveats), but the problem of course is that some people waste too much of their youth getting high, and a few people continue for years or decades after that.
Of all the guys and girls I was taking drugs with 2-4 days per week back then, I was about the only one who would openly admit I was a fucking addict, and while it was fun until it wasn't (that's when I quit, and also had to stop seeing most of my friends) it had a tremendously temporarily negative impact on several other areas of my life (school, diet, exercise, money, my ability to walk up two flights of stairs without needing a break).

Sorry I didn't reply to this sooner. I ended up trying it and it uhh, changed my life. Absolutely mind blowing experience. I still have some left, i'd like to get some changa and spend more time in hyper space. All of my previous psychedelic trips weren't anywhere close to preparing me for the things I saw.
I had a trip sitter which definitely helped.

RE: How does taking acid change you?
Taking LSD was one of the most important things I have done, and the amount of self-discovery and self-acknowledgement that came from it would have been very difficult, but not impossible, to achieve via meditation or yoga. Is is not a drug for everyone, as it is a drug that takes you to your inner self. It liberates, instead of enslaving you.
Most people have too many shit in their life and too many problems to take a substance that will last 12 hours and make them remember if they got bullied as kids. Alcohol and other drugs to cloud the mind are to forget. But, if you are more or less in peace with yourself and want to have a nice trip, I recommend it.
If possible, buy a cheap uv light, the ones used to detect fake bills. Pure LSD glows in dark uv light, and better check out the blots right away with the dealer to see if he is selling you pure product or many similar drugs, like n-bomb or lsa.

Haha, that's the truth.
I doubt there's anything that can prepare someone for DMT. The traditional psychedelics are more or less on the same level as each other in terms of intensity and give you a chance to adjust to a new frame of mind but DMT is really in the upper echelon of it's own league.
I broke-through on it about 7 years ago and I can still say to this day that it fundamentally changed my perspective on everything.

That may be the case, however DMT is ten-fold more intense. If your unfamiliar with the psychedelic mind-state it could send you into a panic. A small dose of LSD is probably the best introduction because of all the psychedelics it's the most analytical.
I'm forever grateful for the experience I've had with DMT in the past.. but I don't think I could handle another break-through dose. It's just too intense. When you come into contact with the void as it's commonly referred to and the emptiness is mirrored back as a reflection of you - the paradoxical nature of self becomes realized and duality collapses into an infinite point in time. You are nothing and everything simultaneously, and through consequence of this, Alone. One. Infinite.
Beyond that it's just impossible to describe, language is to primitive to encapsulate the complexity.. I suppose Terrance Mckenna was the best at describing it but even he struggled to articulate the strangeness.
