This is criminal. This is actual human rights violation, and is actually worse than merely backward and primitive. Even primitive cultures understand the importance of the male property rights being recognized. This is next level evil shit. Soddom and Gomorrah was more virtuous.

And it came out of nowhere (relatively speaking). Switzerland was coasting under the radar, we haven't heard of Femen or feminism taking hold there, and suddenly men are reduced to slaves if they so much as go on a date with a woman. This was all by appearances a civilized, Western country.

I can't see what other rationale has brought this about.

If this is genuine overzealousness and not a thinly veiled exercise in population control, I'm beginning to see the need for a minster of social engineering and racial preservation, and the associated advisors, in ministerial cabinets.

We are entering a phase where birthrates and certain racial hegemonies won't, and aren't, maintaining themselves. A direct administrative role is required to temper the west eating itself.

This is, essentially the government enforcing what used to be called a "shotgun wedding," where the woman's father forced the man to marry his daughter by way of threats.

The difference now is that the government has replaced daddy (no surprise there) and the men get all the financial responsibility of marriage but none of the perks.

This is the legacy of the sexual revolution and women's liberation. Hope this doesn't find its way to American shores courtesy of some misguided "family values" conservative or feminist law professor (it's hard to tell them apart).

Im guessing thats chump change by Swiss standards. They are just transferring the costs of welfare to the fathers of single-mom babies. Or, in other words, not handing state money over to single moms any more. In other context some would call that progress.

In closing: wrap it up. Now blast me for believing that parents should be responsible for their offspring.

The problem is that if someone is willing to sell you insurance, you know right off the bat that the expected value is negative for you. In addition, there's a pretty big moral hazard problem: guys who purchased this insurance, at any price, would be incentivized to shoot it everywhere, and so the company probably wouldn't sell it except at an insane price.

I honestly don't know if I'd be able to stay sane if I had to let go 15K out of my 20K a month! I work close to a big mall here in Toronto, and I swear that it seems that it's possible to single out the women shopping with alimony money. They just have this nonchalant attitude about entering in a luxury store while looking like zombies! A bit troubling to see!

Tacit government condoning of 'oops' pregnancies to increase the birth rate of indigenous citizens.

Think about it. The government wants its citizens to reproduce rather than introducing immigrants to deal with the falling birth rates (so as to stave off economic decline and falling tax revenue to service debt), but they can't in the face of the cost of modern lifestyles. By letting women know that they will be able to afford to raise children no matter how they get pregnant, they can rely on female instinct to help prop things up.

It all falls down if men get access to safe, reversible birth control though. Everyone will lose their minds when that happens.

Beware of the new rules that are now being enforced in Switzerland. What the Swiss government have done is to state that any unmarried man that has sex with a girl that results in a birth has to pay support for the child and also alimony to the woman. Presumably the national health system will pay for all of this. Then, you date any particular woman for only 3-6 months (the pump n' dump method) at which time you look for a new girlfriend.

Perhaps the Swiss politicians who support these measures still subscribe to Paul Ehrlich's population explosion arguments and are trying to reduce birthrates even further.

It works like this in USA anybody knows how it works in Switzerland? At least Switzerland seems to have a limit on how high child suport is unlike many other countries where you may have to pay hundreds of thousands $ a month which is ridiculous.
