He's thinking Germany because he's had some success there. Guys like him are so undervalued in so many places, just getting what he deserved a few times can really make it seem amazing. However, it's likely too few data points to really make the jump. His day to day German self may get a lot less action than the rich exotic foreigner from NEW YORK CITY gets. On the plus side he's close enough to check out the other areas above.

Also, you noted a distaste for leveraging your wealth. This isn't inherited wealth, this is the sweat of your brow and your brilliance, it IS part of you and what you bring to the table, don't be afraid to use it when you're competing with rivals that took the easy way out and have been coasting on height or looks.

I worked in NYC in finance for a few years up until recently; it was uncommon that I got even a 6 interested via online dating or apps (which I'm not going to act upon), and 7s were very rare. This. I'm surprised the OP listed "more racism" as a problem in Germany. Asian Americans take a BEATING in America, both in college admissions and the game of love. Jet Li was the only Romeo that never got to kiss Juliet.

Even if other aspects of racism are worse, dumping the asexual Asian nerd stigma of America could be a huge plus.

Somewhat off topic, but I liked the way the Chinese were portrayed in the second season of Tyrant. They were power players that had their shit together, not the nerds you commonly see on TV. Not many scenes with women, but you never doubted they were taking care of business.

Don't go to Germany just for the girls (in fact, don't go to any country JUST for the girls). If you are into German girls that's totally fine but you will be a very unhappy man after a few months if you find out that the girls are still hot but everything else sucks.

See, I really like living in Germany. But personally I could NEVER be here for 12 or more months in a row. At some point I always get the feeling that I need to get the hell out of here and I do.

Do you have the chance to move here just for a year or so before you finally decide what to do? If you do, I'd go for it. If not, I'd probably travel to Germany a few more times and find out if this place is truly for you.

Either my posts have elicited some of the bro-mance style respect that I hoped for, or else the thread has taken a fairer and more focused turn since my last post here.

Germans are MORE formal. They can be excellent, first class friends. But they don't let their guard down quickly. Of course, just saying this implies a few Asian stereotypes. (So be it.) Yet it also implies greater compatibility than such a man finds in NYC. (Just as the OP said - and implied - earlier.)

To return to my Protestant/Catholic query: Northern Germans are more angsty, more self-conscious (or just conscientious and focused). Bavarian Germans are more care-free at times (like at Okoberfest!). More capable of behaving and judging and managing - and indulging in - personal hypocrisies.

(Ther are other stereotypes that apply, but you can get my drift.)

Thus, my question to aureole - any clue to which region may be your best fit, yet? Or is this variable simple one on your horizon?

I can perfectly understand op's choice. Not everyone wants to live in Colombia or Ukraine. If he was early 20s he may choose these places to party for a while or go there for few vacations.

In Germany he may still progress his career. It's a very developed country (one of the most advanced in manufacturing, technology) and real skills are valued. It's also center of Europe, so easily transferable in terms of career recognition to other countries like Austria, Switzerland etc. these countries all got excellent living standards, so more options open up.

He also finds German girls attractive and interesting and had good experiences with them.
Very very good choice in Germany.

A few suggestions:

There are a lot of solid guys in NYC who do well in all facets of Game: social circle, online, daygame and nightgame. Go to the meet-ups, buy a round of drinks and get to know them. This will be a wise investment and you will learn from them, if you are open to it

You have the best opportunity right now in NYC to develop your Game and to figure out what works for you. My niche is Daygame. There are endless possibilities in NYC to work on your Game. Take advantage of your setting to cultivate a style of Game that is congruent with who you are.

Don't diminish your professional success and your one million in assets. Plenty of men would envious of this position. Use your position to take time off from work and travel the world to determine which place is best for you. I suggest you explore Poland and Brazil.

Personally, I think NYC is significantly better than Germany for Game, talent and professional opportunities. What city are you considering in Germany?

Yes, this has worked for me. It doesn’t come naturally though. I don’t particularly like it. It feels artificial.

Hm. I just got back from a trip to Northern California, and while everyone says the situation there is tougher than NYC -- more guys than girls, less feminine aesthetic -- I had a great time. Sure, I saw a huge number of guys on man-dates, it was like a prison colony, but the women who I approached were super-friendly. There may be more guys, but maybe they're shy, unfriendly engineers? Plus, I liked the outdoorsy-type blondes out there. Came back to NYC and saw a lot of overweight and dark hair.

These are good points, but I’d answer that wealth is the most fungible of these advantages. It's the most easily quantifiable and compared. Unlike height or looks, it can disappear the most quickly.

If a woman is with me for my money, she’s more likely to leave for the guy with more money than the woman who’s with the 6-foot tall guy to leave for the 6-foot-6 guy. Nor is a woman with a good-looking guy likely to leave for a better looking guy.

If I’m going to rely on money, and I want regular strange, why not just go consistently for P4P in a poorer part of the world? Each of us has a different desire for improvement and tolerance for challenge.

Also, attraction is not just physical. The fact that a lot of German girls can speak English and are educated appeals to me. I also find the no-nonsense disposition kind of sexy. I don't have to be a dancing monkey to catch their attention.

That said, I met some Polish girls from Warsaw recently when I was out for a run on my trip west, and yes, they were very attractive.

I want to second what rottenapple said here.

Aureole, you mentioned Frankfurt. Since, I lived there for many years (and speak the language natively) I can tell you a couple of things about the city:

- the dating market is brutally competitive due to poor gender ratio
- your height will put you at a punishing disadvantage with German women, who are extremely height selective
- personality-wise, German women are among the most unpleasant women you will find anywhere

I ended up leaving the country because I realized that as I was getting older, I didn't want to waste more precious time trying to cope- when I could be killing it elsewhere.

My recommendation might be different if you were a younger man thinking to do a shorter expat stint in Germany. But at your age, you might want to really think this one through a bit more thoroughly before committing yourself.

262 also had some info on how he was going to survive, I think on 1,500 with a smaller investment pool. So it is possible, these are markets are tricky lately though.

If he bought 1,000,000 in real estate and lets say a low cap rate of 4% (would indicate a desirable location), that is 40K a year. So that is over 3K a month, don't forget the benefit of depreciation on taxes. HOWEVER, it is never as easy as it seems, vacancies, repairs etc can really fuck your shit up.
