I just got an email re: the petition saying that this woman has supposedly been arrested. According to this news article she will appear in court.

On the other, it's ridiculous those laws even exist in the first place. I'm not a UK lawyer, but she's probably been charged with an offence under section 1 of the Malicious Communications Act 1998, which has a maximum penalty of six months in prison or a fine, or both. Most likely it will be a fine -- but it still amounts to a criminal record.

The other possibility at a short glance is an offence under section 127 of the Communications Act 2003. Again, maximum six months prison or a fine or both.

I agree with you on principle. However, the people who would advocate for such laws need to be exposed to the consequences, and need to fight their own battle. It's a law and should be enforced, regardless of who breaks it. Rather than be selective about its enforcement, which reinforces the pussy pass, it should be enforced to its full stupidity so that everyone wants to change the law.

This is how simpletons try to express their complexity and superiority. If they spout nonsense, there's a chance that their argument has a grain of truth and challenges the listener/viewer to overcome their privilege, finally seeing the "truth". It's just a different form of attention whoring, trying to provoke cognitive dissonance but only revealing their own mental weakness.

Hope she actually serves time, or better yet: if the judge forbids her to use the internet for a while. That would probably drive her permanently into deeper psychosis.

I'm learning that what looks like insanity to us is actually a career path for these activists. Look at how Al Sharpton earned his fame, after all: With a hoax that got exposed. And yet the media hung on his every word and eventually hired him.

This all reminds me of some movie where whatever bad people do ends up benefiting them more than when they do good. What was this movie? Robert Altman's "The Player," maybe?
