I've met lots of German-Russians from Kazakhstan. They're European looking, and from what they've said the cities are largely Russian and Ukrainian, as mentioned above. The native Kazakhs are said not to like Russians, though. Supposedly they're found more outside the urban areas. Can't confirm this though.

I can speak for almaty, and this was Definitely not the case. There wasnt much racism at all. I'd say it was more Classism if anything. There is the rich people. There is the poor people. There is no middle class. In the clubs/restaurants/malls I was at, it was mostly rich people. They could be russian or Kazakh, didnt matter.

I didnt see much dating at all between Russian and Kazakh, or even much hanging out, but we would all be in the same place at the same time and there was never any problem. It was pretty cool actually.

Atleast in the USA, I've never seen this kind of mixing. While there wasnt much interracial dating between the Russian and Kazakh people, they would congregate everywhere together. Many times in the Clubs it would be damn near 50/50, between Russian/Europeans and Kazakh people. Never saw one problem. Everyone danced and drank together and had a great time. It was shocking to me. I've never been to a club in the USA that was a 50/50 split between white and black people. If it does ever happen in the USA, it would be shaky because people wouldnt know which way to act.

The russians that are from Kazakhstan, like born in Kazakhstan, call themselves Russian, but culturally, they are Kazakh. Its like Asians that are born in America. Someone might say they are Chinese, but if they were born and raised in America, culturally they will act much more American than Chinese.

Thats actually a good way to describe it. The Kazakh and Russians in Almaty get along like the White and Asians get along in America. Yes they have their subtle differences and may live and hang out within their own race, but when Asians and Whites in America eat/shop/club in the same places, theres no friction like you can find between White and blacks in America.

Stalin deportations.

I know Kazakhstan was the country of the infamous gulags but damn that's a serious long time ago.

I believe there also still a small German community there.

Stalin moved people around to prevent Ukrainian nationalism/separatism from taking hold. [Part of?] Ukraine tried to separate during the Bolshevik revolution but Russia didn't want it and suppressed it.

Good news on the visa front, at least for some of us: Kazakhstan lets citizens of the United States, the Netherlands, the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, and Japan into the country without a visa if you stay for 15 days max. The program starts on this July 15 and will be tested for one year.

Wow, this is certainly great news for us FSU lovers. I think I might have to replace my favorite places of Kiev and Minsk soon with Almaty (just joking) though in all honesty I'm sure WGF is evident there plus Almaty has plenty of ethnic diversity and Russian language still dominates. Any of you guys thinking of traveling there soon and taking advantage of this program?

Flint,

do you happen to know...

After the visa program gets activated, if I'm a US Citizen, and I hop on a plane to KZ and stay for 5 days or so, am I able to get a visa for a longer stay in KZ? Or would I have to apply back in the US?

RE: Kazakhstan
I can only speculate on that but under the old visa regime you could come into the country and extend your (tourist) visa at the immigration office. It would surprise me if that was not possible now. Another option would be hopping into Kyrgyzstan, which is also visa free for first worlders, and then try to get back into Kazakhstan. Better ask the Kazakh embassy if they know more about it.

I'll be likely in Kazakhstan next month and report back.

The visa stuff is good news. When I went through there it was a pain in the ass getting a Kazakhstan visa in Urumqi, China. Also had to get a Kyrgyzstan visa in advance. I hope Uzbekistan does this too as they only reason I did not go there from Tajikistan was that I was too lazy to wait for the visa.

RE: Kazakhstan
Don't have the time to write a whole data sheet, so here are some brief observations from my recent trip to Kazakhstan:

- The talent is not the greatest. Of course, you'll see many stunners in Astana and Almaty but there are too many 6s and plain-looking women. The quality seems to better in Russia, Ukraine and the like.

- The country has a surprisingly high amount of chubby and fat women. They don't age well, either. 75% of the women older than 50 that I saw were clearly overweight.

- Kazakhstan is not a budget destination at all. Expect to pay 2,50-3€ for a regular Döner Kebap from the street. Beers were 2€ and up. Hotels, taxis and rents are expensive, too. Public transportation is cheap, though.

- Kazakh guys are the toughest and most alpha Asian dudes I met. Many of them are tall like Europeans, heavy drinkers and wouldn't hesitate to involve you in a fistfight if shit hits the fan. Nonetheless, I didn't see anyone running daygame and cockblocking foreigners.

- English alone won't get you far here, unless you concentrate your efforts on language students and expat groupies. Russian is a must if you want to date a high quality women.

- Only a few women responded to eye contact during the day. It's better than in the Caucasus, though. No "white God" factor here, but definitely open attitude toward foreign males.

- It seems like Kazakhstan is one of the more successful multicultural societies. Russians, Kazakhs, Koreans, Ukrainians, Germans and other minorities seem to be all cool with each other. Many mixed marriages, no noteworthy ethnic tensions.

- Statistics say most Kazakhs are Muslim but you almost don't notice it. People eat pork, drink booze en masse and don't give two shits about the muezzin's call for prayer. Women are more liberated than in most Islamic countries and sex before marriage is not a big deal it seems. It's more conservative than maybe Russia, but not by much.

- Food is extremely meat-based and I didn't like it for the most part. I drank fermented horsemilk, too, and it remains the single most disgusting thing I have ever tried.

- My results: I made out with a slightly chubby, 6ish Russian girl I met at the airport on the day I arrived. Her mom was an ex-police officer but was really cool, drove me around to find the hotel and tried to hook me up with her daughter. Lots of the resistance, though, and I decided it wasn't worth the effort since I had to leave the town two days later. In Almaty, I went out with Kazakh girl,a 7 in my book, I met over the internet. Make out on the first night in a Karaoke bar, some ensuing dates in the following days but no bang.

- Verdict: Interesting place to visit, but I guess I wouldn't go again because the ROI is not that amazing. The country has shit tons of high paying jobs for foreigners because of their booming economy (oil, gas, rare metals, etc.), though. If you're willing to work here and learn Russian, you can pull high quality here easily I guess. I can't say much about nightlife, because I only went to some bars and didn't see any clubs but I heard the ratios are exceptionally good. I give the country a 6.5/10. Not the best place for sex-hungry travelers, but certainly not the worst, either.

I have never been but met people from there and was curious so got information from them. They were all sexually open and were okay with escalating rather quickly (currently living in Korea and things can be a bit slower here). They are muslim but still partake in drinking, partying, and eating pork. They said Kazakhstan nightlife was not as good as Koreas, but I still feel that they have a lot of options available there. I definitely think that meeting girls won't be any issue and you are going to love the place.

Dated a kazakh girl in London few years back. From recollection, they like their men to be alpha and dominating. Agree with what was written here they come from a conservative country but religion isn't important to them. I managed to bang her on the 2nd date. 1st date was fingering her while sitting in the pub in Leicester Sq (London).

From all the source material I have seen, Uzbekistan seems a better bet.

Btw, the visa-free program has been extended. You can now visit Kazakhstan for 30 days and it applies to citizens of OECD member states (US, UK, EU, Japan, etc.).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_Kazakhstan

In addition, their currency has been seriously devalued recently.

It seems a good time to go there now.

I am going to Tashkent, Uzbekistan in March. From all the few data sheets, it seems to be the best bet for the Stans.....with regards to quality of the women and foreigner value.
Though the fact that Uzbekistan only, usually, gives out 1 month visas, is a hassle.

RE: Kazakhstan
I just spent 10 days in Almaty (a truly lovely city) and here are my observations:

Pros:

- lots and lots of petite girls (usually a 7 or 6 and a few 8's thrown in) all over the city during the day
- about 50% look Asian (originally Chinese or Korean), 25% are white (Russian) and the rest looks very Kazakh (or Mongolian)
- daygame is easy to get numbers
- it's easy to strike a neutral conversation
- it's easy to set up a dates (or meet)
- locals say the sex ratio is very skewed here - I'm not sure its true but the sheer amount of well dressed girls in the streets may suggest that
- online game is rather easy too and girls don't flake much (Tinder)
- nightgame can be hit or miss - on (rare) good days it's almost too easy, usually it's like a US club but with cuter girls
- there isn't a lot of attitude during the day but it's there during the night
- while it is a good idea to speak Russian it is really not needed - there are enough hot girls who speak English unless you go and hang out around the universities
- everything is cheap and of decent quality (food, hotels etc)

Cons:

- there is no foreigner bonus and it's a modern, somewhat rich place and almost every girl over 23 has 'extensive US travel experience'
- it's almost impossible to be flirtatious (or to sexualizing a conversation) at these dates, it's like they all have invented Teflon
- the conversations are usually strikingly boring and it's like watching news when she talks
- even if you can make them comfortable nothing will happen besides hand holding on date one
- I tried different venues and tactics but on date one the most you can get is a kiss (that usually gives you an emotional reaction as if you just kicked her in the stomach)
- it's not easy to motivate yourself to go on date 2,3,4,5 after the usual 2 hour boring conversation, a major 'teflon attitude' and the sheer amount of OTHER hot girls you can see everywhere during the day
- you need to plan at least 3 dates, ideally 4-5 to seal the deal (of course there are exceptions)
- many dates are more like interviews/ interrogations and every bit of your story will be analyzed, the sheer amount of mistrust is just insane

So in total Almaty is a great place but you need a lot of time for the girls and a decent story. Fortunately it is easy to live here and learning some Russian is a good idea. If you have less time the best you can hope for is a 'hit' on a good day at the nightlife. The sheer time investment in a girl makes it impossible to have a lot of girls at the same time.

In terms of Visa it is 14 days visa waiver and for a while you can just do a visa run every two weeks to a nearby country (Russian, Kyrgyzstan).

^ I've had my eye on Kazakhstan for a while. Almaty is indeed a fantastic city, and has a lot more soul than the newly built capital, Astana. Is it true that there is a lot of ethnic Germans living there ?

Did you get to visit other cities such as Astana, Aktobe, or Karagandy by any chance?

I knew a couple of Kazakh girls back in Toronto and they were hovering around the 8 area. Both got married at 22.

I haven't met any ethnic Germans at all but also did not really look for any. Astana might be a bit easier in terms of girls but it's just a terrible city. I can't comment on the other two.

It's an awesome city with amazing girls. Almost no ONS but if the girl likes you, second or third date then its done. I found the Russian, Chechen, Tatar and Ukrainian girls to be very beautiful and friendlier than the ones in their home countries. Kazakh men though will cockblock and protect their women very aggressively.
