What's really concerning here is that supposedly smart people like Zuckerberg and Obama fell for the bullshit. I mean, ok, Obama is a fucking lawyer so I don't expect him to be able to tell the difference between manufactured and custom made circuit boards and other parts, but Zuckerberg? The super smart techie billionaire? He invited the kid to visit Facebook? How are the really talented kids who build real electronics are supposed to feel about that?

My guess is the whole thing was a hoax by the family to get him suspended/arrested, stir shit up and get special treatment for him. Apparently, this strategy is paying off given that he's been offered scholarships.

What's really puzzling to me about this whole story isn't about racism accusations vs. security concerns. It's about how stupid modern society is, how easily it falls for BS and how many frauds are out there in positions of power who got there not because of their merit but because of similar type of dishonest actions and publicity stunts.

1. Boy has no technical or impressive intellectual skills whatsoever. Did he take part in a chemistry, physics olympics? Was he some kind of maverick or did he have excellent school marks? All we have are the statements of his father - the Islamic activist that his son is a genius.

2. Boy takes apart an old Radioshack clock, stuffs it in a dangerous looking pencil box and does not even close it properly. He closes it off with a wire.

3. He picks 9/12 - the day after 9/11 as the day to "impress" his teachers. First he shows his crappy device to his engineering teacher who is no idiot and says that he shouldn't show it to anyone (because it looks like a bomb to the uninitiated).

4. Then he carries it around from class to class, never shows it to the English teacher and even PLUGS IT IN, because his "invention" does not have a battery. Then probably around 10:30 or whenever the first jet crashed into the WTC the alarm clock that he or his father set goes off.

5. The teacher asks the boy what it is. At this time we don't even know whether he says it's a clock. The boy fails to mention that he showed his "invention" to the engineering teacher who would have told them that it's just a strange clock, is no invention and has no explosives attached to it, so it's not a bomb.

6. The boy says nothing and the cops are called. He is arrested on charges of bringing a HOAX BOMB into class. It's illegal to bring a HOAX BOMB, A HOAX GUN OR A HOAX HAND GRENADE INTO CLASS - anything that may look real is banned.

7. SJWs and the Refugees-Welcome-propaganda media is spinning the story. You keep that in mind when the US accepts 5 - 25 mio. Muslims from Africa in the next years.


Is the police overreacting? Generally in our times and especially in the US I would say yes - they arrested young white boys for making gun signs in class or drawing a gun on paper. Along those lines the police treated that Ahmed brat and his shitty father very leniently. They should have charged the father for aiding and abetting in creating a hoax bomb on the day after 9/11. His son Ahmed should also be charged. I wouldn't give them prison sentences, but community service would do both of them some good.

Because if a white boy brings a gun replica to school, then the cops won't give him a chance to show them that it does not shoot real bullets.

I would be interested how this "genius" works out in the Google academy being surrounded by real high potentials.

I wouldn't be totally surprised if Zuckerbucks used this as an opportunity to flog his cheap labor H1b Visa policies again to Congress so more tech workers can be imported from the subcontinent/middle east/asia or whatever.

Even though this kid was raised in America it wouldn't be a leap to push this as a "brown people work harder at STEM!" thing again.

He's always lobbying for more cheap slave labor from the 3rd world to replace U.S. born and educated IT/engineering grads.

When it comes to U.S. corporations it's all about a race to the bottom when it comes to the labor pool. When you give them an opportunity to fuck the middle class they will take it.

Not a left-trusted national mainstream site that I have seen. But the clock analysis was at least posted on a neutral blog associated with "Artvoice," a weekly publication out of Buffalo, NY that doesn't seem to have ideological leanings: http://blogs.artvoice.com/techvoice/2015...ourselves/.

Also, the arguments that have been presented by Sefan Molyeaux, Mike Cernovich, and many other "fringe" sites mostly stand on their own without much need to appeal to credibility. The facts they use are publicly accessible and the arguments are (mostly) sound. Obviously we have the picture of the bomb. You can yourself watch the Dallas local media interview with Ahmed. You can see that he does not supply a simple explanation for why he used a pencil case that just happens to look exactly like the WMD suitcases in Team America: World Police. He's dismissive, he just says "it's a simple pencil case you can buy off amazon." The only thing he actually explains is that he closed it with the wire because he thought it would be less suspicious. Because that's what a totally innocent genius who is not planning a hoax thinks about when he's tinkering with electronics. It's highly likely that a genuine tinkerer would have answers for these kinds of questions. Most techies LOVE to explain to others why they made their technical decisions, and should be even moreso in the face of interrogation from authorities (unless they were exercising 5th amendment rights).


(wrt to Stefan Molyneaux, I think he spends a little too much time emphasizing that Ahmed must have plugged in the clock to get it to go off, since we don't know for sure that the battery wasn't removed. But otherwise his case is very strong)

Well - he did show the highly sophisticated STEM skill of programming the clock and then wiring it to the pencil case. But as others have noted he could have cut off the cable since there was a backup battery in it. But as he said it himself - he kept the wires on the outside so that it would look less "suspicious". Suspicious of what Ahmed? I thought you were just making a "cool clock".

I would love to see the Google scientists taking a good look at his clock at the Google science fair. I would really enjoy watching their faces as they marvel at the advanced STEM skills that Ahmed had displayed with his stupendous technological masterpiece.
