Originally I was looking to arrive to Colombia last March and the plan was to also go Chile to watch the Copa America Futbol Live, but for various of reasons was unable to do so. On the positive note I've been able to save up alot more money so maybe was for the best Lol

The plan for last March was just for visiting Bogota, Medellin, Barranquilla, Cali, Santa Marta & Cartagena but now I'm looking at visiting pretty much all of Colombia as my main location including Peru (Lima, Cusco & Iquitos) and lastly little trips to Ecuador (Quito) , Bolivia (Santa Cruz) and Paraguay (Asuncion). If anyone has any other locations they recommend I visit feel free to let me know.

I did the whole online game from back in late January in preparation for my Original March trip which went better than expected but obviously having to delay the trip made it not an ideal situation as I've had to keep in touch with all the girls which hasn't been easy Lol But for the most part some are definitely worth it and in a way I suppose has built up more of a connection.

If anybody is heading out to Colombia from anytime to November-Next year or any of the other Cities i've mentioned let me know.

Any advice on any of the cities would also be much appreciated

Asuncion, Paraguay is the city that intrigues me the most in South America. There are a couple of data sheets out there, but not enough info to get a decent grasp of the women, as compared to Colombia or Peru.
I hope you make it there.
A lot of the advice we can give you, will be based on your age and Spanish knowledge.

Yeah I haven't come across alot of info on Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay so I was thinking that if I'm already going Colombia and Peru it would make sense to do trips to them places also.

I'm 27 years old and my Spanish is improving all the time, nowhere near fluent but I can now pretty much understand what is being said and able to reply so for now would say Basic. I have a couple people based around Colombia, Peru and Paraguay who said they would help me become fluent Lol But I'm also looking at doing some lessons once I arrive to just help a little more anyway.

Based on that Alex, I would try Lima, Peru first and get your feet wet with a couple of gringo groupies. When first traveling in a region, one should ideally start with the easy first, and then progress to the harder. Helps build confidence and momentum.
Would not recommend Ecuador, unless you have a lot of time on your hands and don't mind a bit of a downgrade on average looks.

Yeah I hear what you're saying, makes perfect sense. The 2 places I think I would be most comfortable with to start would be Bogota or Lima. Ecuador is last on my list but I will expect to have alot of time on my hands as I will be making it a long trip up to 1 year perhaps longer seeing how things go. Would you recommend swapping Ecuador for any of the other countries like Chile (Santiago)?

I've ruled out Brazil and Argentina rightly or wrongly I don't know but just for the fact for me it is too big a country to travel and also I'm guessing being the more popular countries of South America it is also the more expensive ones.

Chile is more expensive than Argentina (especially if you are bringing cash to Argentina, which can be exchanged at especially good rates), and even than Northern Brazil (now that the Real is very weakened).

But Santiago de Chile would be less of a cultural shock for you. It is also safe and quite beautiful, with good infrastructures and a trustworthy police force.

There are more gringo groupies in Ecuador than in Chile, so don't go to Chile for women, since they are not above average for the region... and are a pain in the ass, in general.
Both counties, though, are beautiful in terms of nature and landscape.

South America consists of Colombia, Argentina and Brazil(honorable mention Uruguay) if you are looking for hot women. The rest don't even come close unless your rolling in elite circles and on that level competition is fierce.

If your going mainly for the culture, etc then Peru is a good pick.

Still, I'd say that Chilean women are well above Peruvian or Ecuadorian women in terms of looks, and also education... If you are looking for a LTR with a university-educated, simple-life loving HB6, then Chile has to be considered...

I will do a separate trip to Argentina and Brazil in the future but interesting to hear Chile is more expensive than both. Despite the bad rep Peru seems to be getting on here I have some good contacts especially in Lima, I must have been lucky finding a few diamonds in the rough so I will be going there for sure along with Colombia, Bolivia and Paraguay Lol

My trip will be based on Culture, nature and landscape but ultimately if the women are not the best then Chile and Ecuador both sound like bad choices.

Any information on Uruguay and also on Costa Rica? I know it's not South America but relatively close to Colombia.

Uruguay is okay if you like flat and peaceful nature, quiet windswept beaches (plus, the more luxurious option of Punta del Este resort), and mate-addicted down-to-earth, usually pretty, European-looking women... Bear in mind it is clearly more expensive than Peru or Paraguay.

Santiago is great and pretty much a first-world city. Around this time of year, you can also go skiing about an hour outside the city at Valle Nevado in the Andes.

Punta del Diablo is a cool surf spot in Uruguay, a few hours by bus from Montevideo, that is worth a visit if (and in my opinion, only if) you have some time to travel in the January vacation season. This is a great beach town to make friends and meet girls who are on summer vacation from Buenos Aires. Many young people rent cabins and stay with friends, and when I went the town had but one ATM. There are a couple of big clubs (the major one is named Bitácora) on the outskirts of the village where you can party until dawn. After the party winds down, hundreds of exhausted partiers line the main road into town as they trek back to their cabins in the morning sun. It's a cool sight.

Not sure your time frame, but if you're thinking Costa Rica - I'd skip it and go to Panama City instead. It'd be pretty easy to start in Panama City (safe and a nice intro to Latin America) before flying to Bogota. Then busing through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Paraguay.

I'd spend as little time in Ecuador and Bolivia as possible. Also, Peru is weak as hell outside Lima.

I'm looking to start the trip November and to be honest I have no time frame really, realistically up to 1 year in total. Panama is an interesting one, I'll definitely look into that. Yeah if I ended up going Ecuador the plan would be a short trip and Bolivia likewise.

Also @Going strong and @Polymath appreciate the feedback on Uruguay!!
