They are full of shit. Where I live it is legal for women to walk around topless and no one ever does, except for the ones you don't want to see.

The current controversy is the topless women in Time's Square. First we had the costumed characters being very aggressive, now there's topless women around with body paint on (we've seen this on RVF before). For many in the city, it's a reminder of bad memories over there in the 80's and early 90's before Giuliani cleaned it up. Cuomo and de Blasi-shmo want them gone, and some have even suggested tearing up the pedestrian walkway that Bloomberg built, which is stupid.

Lots of kids go there and I understand why they want them banned. I'm normally not such a prude (in Europe I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be such a controversy - feel free to correct me if wrong), but with the bad memories of all the sex shops and whores in Time's Square and the heavy traffic it gets and lots of kids (there's a Toys R' Us right there), it's really not an appropriate place for these chicks. Take that hustle down to Union Square.

This is just attention whoring, pure and simple.

Truth be told I want all of those mascots gone. I was there often nine years ago. There were a few but that was it. Now you can't move ten feet without being accosted.

This top-free bullshit really needs some serious self-reflection. If a group of dissidents want to be... dissident, at least own up to your want to simply be a contrarian. These women do not sincerely want to parade around topless in public. They're only bitching because the law is a "symbol of oppression."

These delusional, #freethenipple, clammy, elbow fat, pigs are the same ones blogging and bitching about Game of Thrones topless scenes every week. Then they demand a penis be shown for every breast (anatomic equivalency notwithstanding).

Disclaimer: the following is an example of rhetoric.

The way to counter someone making a strong case for top free on public is to put THEM on the spot arguing for the right of 12 year olds, 14 year olds, etc. to be able do the same thing.

Their arguments are usually along the lines of 'breasts aren't sexual' and 'they're food bags for children!' and so on. So, surely since breasts aren't all sexual, a younger girl should be able to show off as well... Right?

Well, we know that's wrong. But they'll have to do hamster gymnastics to backflip around that one.

Libs tend to get a little myopic regarding age and often end up agitating for policy that assumed that everyone is a legal adult. You'll see the cognitive dissonance in effect when they struggle to come up with a reason why their logic is functional even though we all inherently know on a visceral level that young girls *especially* shouldn't be walking around with their bodies on display.
