Yep in the upper 90's percentiles as well, for both dimensions. I'm an old lecher (40's) and recently got my mojo back after being in captivity for a long time. I do get, the "your big" comments 80-90% of the time now - unsolicited. Never did before in my previous years.

I'm in a large metro with a large immigrant population - huge Asian pop.

The whole discussion about how porn skews your idea of reality and engenders dysmorphia is becoming more and more plausible as I accumulate notches.

Most of these kinds of studies are done for the purpose of generating publicity. i.e. "Clickbait".

I don't know how any researcher would actually go about trying to devise a proper test that really gets usable data. The collection procedures are so fraught, most of their attention would have t be focused on how to get a wide range of men to volunteer. The only way I can think of to really do this is to have a female researcher who selects a representative sample of men independently and then goes about sleeping with as many of them as she can. Taking her ruler along each time. Otherwise your sample is going to be distorted in all sorts of ways.Because without the actuality or chance of sex the numbers will be distorted by who actually volunteers.

Having said that, the numbers in the table do seem quite low (I know, we all are expected to say that). Maybe one of the problems is that the subject is not fully aroused when the measurement is taken.

I accept that, but I still suspect that even academics just won't be able to get a truly representative sample. Not to say that they shouldn't try. And being published in a medical journal is a big deal. But they'd really have to spend a large amount of time just convincing people that their sample is sound.

I absolutely agree, but I think we can safely say that this is the most representative sample at this point in time. And people are having a problem accepting the science that shows that foot size and race have nothing to do with penis size, and that basically everyone has essentially the same size penis. It is a big pill to swallow, after so much social conditioning, but isn't that the entire reason why we're all here?

I went to a traditional boys school, the kind that made all the boys use communal showers throughout school till we left, age 18.

I get that you're joking, I just think it is weird that honestly discussing this subject (which causes men to kill themselves) could only be done by someone with an extremely tiny penis. I don't expect anyone to believe what I say about my penis on the internet, but I have actually posted my exact measurements on another forum under the same username. I believe that we should strive to fight misinformation wherever it is found, and this is a case that deserves attention, especially by the kids who grew up with internet porn and have extremely low self-esteem as a result.

I'm glad that you concede that your anecdotal experience with looking at hundreds of dicks is simply anecdotal and doesn't stand up to the rigors of scientific research, especially the kind that gets published in a scientific journal, which is no easy feat. Just to come back on the 'but medical journal thing' - I think anyone who is involved in the scientific community who was being honest would freely admit that a lot of bad but fashionable science gets published, often at the expense of unpopular and controversial, but more rigorous scientific work. In this case, the simple fact that it was published in a journal does not make it credible by itself.

Of course, having gone to a similar sort of school to CBW, and been in the army, I too have seen enough wang to last me several lifetimes. My anecdotal experience would fall squarely in line with his.
