I know alto palermo mall very well and this is complete bullshit.

I lived in Palermo for 3 months. I lived two blocks from Alto Palermo Mall and day gamed there a few times. It's OK, but nothing spectacular. Just your typical mall in a big city. Doesn't compare to Manhattan in terms of quality or quantity.

Girls at night are consistently hot assuming you know where to go and stay away from the gringo bars. I actually had the most luck in Crobar as well. Lots of Brazilian tourists there. Getting laid in Argentina is definitely possible, it just takes a little more work than other places. And yes, the girls are hot, but not as hot as OP makes them out to be. Again, I'd take Manhattan or most Eastern European cities over BsAs without thinking twice.

BA has charm. The people are very warm. They have a nice style. Food is decent. Nightlife is awesome. Place is cheap. Girls are good looking but not easy. Not many blondes.

I agree with Entropy, EE has better looking girls that are easier.

I would give the food a better rating than "decent".

I would say it is better or equal to almost every American city, save a few select American Gems.

And I am talking NYC is better. SF, New Orleans and Chicago are tied. Arguably. Buenos Aires could be rated higher.

Los Angeles would be rated significantly lower than Buenos Aires.

And that is going off of quality.

A meal that would cost $150-200 for to with wine in the us would cost $50-100 in Buenos Aires.

This claim can be made although I don't think it is necessarily as clear cut as that.

Buenos Aires is a city everyone should visit at least once regardless of what people say.

I definitely recommend Buenos Aires, but go with a group of friends. It's definitely not a great city for the commando-style traveling that most people on this board do. If you drop in for four days, go out cold approaching every night hoping to get laid, you're probably not going to have a good time.

The best way to experience the city is to take a group of friends, go out and just go nuts for a good week or so. BA can offer you the night of your life any night of the week. The place parties harder than almost any other city on earth, has great food, hot girls, fun people, and is very affordable. Like another poster said, the locals are super cool once you befriend them as well.

I look back at my time there, and I wasted a lot of time trying to do the cold approach thing in night clubs and the effort/reward was pretty abysmal. But just going out and partying with a bunch of friends until 8AM, fuck... some of the best nights of my life happened down there.

Crobar is a major gringo haunt though. The Millhouse hostel take people there once a week at least.

I didn't enjoy BA at all. There is somewhere to party every night but I didn't enjoy any of the clubs, the women are cold and difficult, the clubs kick off too late (most don't start until 2am) and the city it's self is a bit of a dump. There are a few nice areas but few and far between IMO. Real sketchy vibe in parts and too much traffic. It really dragged me down being there, after Rio and SP it just couldn't compare (loved both those cities).

Did you stay in the Millhouse? I stayed there and think my poor experience of BA had a lot to do with this, serves me right.

If I was to go again I'd definitely be staying somewhere else.

Yes unfortunately I did. Everyone told me Millhouse was great, best hostel in South America, mad parties every night etc. I hated it. Yeah there are loads of people around but most of them are annoying idiots (too many groups of Aussies, English etc), the parties in the hostel are tragic it was like a cheesy under 18s school disco full of pissed up twats, the place is too big and impersonal, it's in a shit, run down and sketchy area of town, there's no decent bars or clubs around the area. I spent 2 weeks in Buenos Aires (over the festive period too) and it absolutely sucked the life out of me, I didn't enjoy any night out bar NYE in Pacha (coke'd up fun on the outdoor terrace and dancing till 8am with a fun Argentian girl), I didn't find much interesting to do during the day and whenever I went outside the run down area around Millhouse, coupled with the traffic, hectic nature of the city, pollution, noise and hoardes of beggars just made me want to not be out on the streets. I couldn't find any motivation to do the walking tours, see the relatively few and uninteresting sights the city had to offer and the women for the most part were uninterested.
