Screaming babies in public places...
So I'm sitting in a coffee shop trying to do some work on my laptop. A short distance away from me are three women and a baby that has been screaming for the past 20 minutes. It's starting to drive me and the other customers nuts and I can't concentrate. Would it be inappropriate to ask the staff to ask her to take the baby outside until it chills out?

In a sane world the women would be polite enough to remove the baby themselves as they would be aware that it would be grinding on everyone else's nerves. Today, you might be thrown in jail for suggesting they should leave.

She should stick a titty in it's mouth, but then someone would complain about that too.

RE: Screaming babies in public places...
You came on the internet to ask whether it is ok to ask a waiter to ask a woman to try to calm her crying baby?

Try smiling at her, being polite and charming, and asking if she wouldn't mind giving the baby some fresh air to stop it crying. I've no idea why you would want to ask a waiter to do something you could just as easily do yourself. I've no idea why you would think it's a big deal to politely ask her to handle her child. What are you worried about, that she'll say no? If she responds badly to a polite an reasonable request, then just make fun of her until she leaves.

I think it would be a good idea to inform the staff but not her directly. Usually out of consideration she should've taken the baby outside without being asked.

But at least its in an area where you can leave if things get too bad. I sat behind a family with both an infant and a toddler on a 14 hour plane trip to Dubai once and they took turns screaming the whole way.

Babies will be babies, though.

Like H1N1 said, be polite and courteous with the mother and problem solved.

If they're female, when they're older they can look forward to screaming in Dubai as well.

When WE came to Twin Peaks for Project Bluebook, the White Lodge spirits recognised his heart was pure and tried to possess WE to find out about the Black Lodge. To stop WL spirits from entering his body he used Haliperidol. It appeared the Haliperidol was causing insanity, but the Haliperidol was allowing his natural evil and insanity to express itself.

Fair enough, we were all babies once. It got to the point where one of the staff asked if the baby was okay and politely suggested it to be taken outside. The mother complied.

Apparently it's a design specification for all trains and buses in the UK to have at least one fucking irritating squawking infant onboard whenever I get on on. In my experience.

That is also a requirement for flights. With the added bonus of having a small child intermittently kicking the back of your seat.

...and the parents doing absolutely nothing. They just sit there like it's perfectly normal for their child to be annoying the fuck out of the person seated in front of them.

"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.

Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector.

This is a common thing these day, degenerates with kids don't give a shit what they do anymore. She may have read that BS that you should let kid cry it out and ignore it, but more than likely she's just part of the new wave of self centered trash that don't have any courtesy for people around them.

With the way the world is today you will never get the beta cafe manager to tell a woman/mother anything. When I'm in those situations I just leave, and I tell the manager why I'm leaving on the way out. Its the only thing they understand- customer leaving in anger. If you say something but then still hang around they don't take it seriously.

We need more of those babies for sure, but I disagree that they need to be out in public. I'm perfectly happy with all children staying out of the places I visit.

Carry earplugs, good ones. MP3 with good relaxing music.

People everywhere have become idiots: selfish, careless, greedy. I can't do anything about that and even if I do tell someone, another idiot is likely to show up minutes later and do the same thoughtless shit.

Prepare your life so these things can't bother you. It only takes a few minutes of preparation and the reward is worth it.

People are really like that with their pets. I was at a party in college one time where this couple brought a German Shepherd. It kept lunging and barking at people but the owners got an attitude when they were told to leave with it. My mother got screamed at when she had the nerve to tell a lady not to let her dog poop on her lawn without cleaning it. I feel for some reason people are a bit more considerate with their children than their pets (you know, those poor defenseless animals mean no harm as opposed to those evil humans type of thing).
